  7. Mak Tin Sin

Hi, I am Mak Tin Si not Mak Tin Sin. Sorry, I must say it because the Chinese wordings really makes a difference here. Tin Sin is immortal, I am not. Tin Si is my pose in Taoism. The directional spirits you talked about is name for the 4 sets of 7stars on 4 directions forming 28 stars system around earth. Yi Sup Baat Suk 二十八宿. In Taoism, it is uesd in fu to withdraw energy from and it is also used with Taoism army training methods, 神兵. Also, it could be used to sent devils and spirits to the different stars. In the sect of Yuen Gwong Sut 圓光術, they have used the stars of Sum and Fui, 心奎 to run the spells and allow them to see images on a piece of paper or wall to do fortune telling and find answers to unsolved problems such as stealings or murders. In chinese, the star of Sum is fox and the star of Fui is wolf. These are where the spirits of fox and wolf are located. So we could use spells to attune and connect there to command them to work for us for some reason. This method was invented because of something that happen long time ago when these spirits always go to where the immortals live in the universe and steal energy over there. The immortals invented this method to trace and find which spirit stole things and then catch them for punishment. Soon the spirits of Sum and Fui star never came again and they change target to steal from earth planet from human. So the immortals as requested by Lao Zi have passed this art down and it was then part of Taoism training called Yuen Gwong Sut Sect. 圓光術.

  12. Spiritual practice during sleep

Hi, According to what I read from your topic is that you want to learn how to train in Taoism with sleeping. That is easy. What you could do now is to try how a Taoist sleep and then consider if you want to go on or not. Learning how to sleep is very important as a Taoist because sleeping could affect your life and how you work for your whole day. It also controls the amount of Yin or Yang's energy in your body that balance your life out. So we must sleep properly and wisely. The ideal sleeping time is sleep around 9-10 and then wake up around 4-5. No sleep in, cannot stay in the bed for a while or snooze with your alarm. When the alarm ring, you wake up instantly and get off your bed. This is important which could be read from my previous post. With this practise, you must make it a nature for yourself and keep it the same everyday from day 1 and on to your rest of your life. This will then form a pattern for yourself to absorb the good energy from the sun and avoid yourself from absorbing too much of the Yin energy. Which brings you better life, better living and better health. People who live in a temple sleep around 8 and wake up at 3, that is the standard a long time ago because that is how farmers live, they go with the nature, because there is no light at night, so it is all about the sun. When we learn to cope with nature, the sun and moon, we are going into the flow of Tao. Wish you all the best with your practise!

Oh, just to add-on, the Luk Yum San Gung does not claim that being chopped is a magical thing, they say it is their "ability" only. So most people may have this in them too. They are just trying to show you that you will have this "ability" of being chopped. So nothing too magical.

By prediction, or saying things that one have not prooven is called Mong Yue 妄語 which means false speech. It is a rule of the five commandment in Taoism. Therefore we never say anything that we have not tried ourself as a taoist because you maybe wrong. That is why taoist have to "sau gai" 守戒 to avoid bad-mouthing or false speech that may create bad karma and arguments from the others. Imagine what happen if you say this in the forum where all the Luk Yam Sun Gung people gather up? do you think they want to chop you for a test instead? hahaha! I am joking, peace be with you. 24. Luk Yum Shen Gong

Enjoyed. Thank you for sharing. Luk Yam San Gung is one of the branch that is popular in Hong Kong now that does not claim themselves to be in Taoism officially, but realistically they are in Taoism because they are using Taoism's fu (charms) which is the yellow paper written with symbols or words to create different effects such as healings, channeling and many others. Realistically and historically speaking, Luk Yam San Gung is an off-shoot side branch of Taoism. It is originated from Mao-Shan Sheung Ching 茅山上清宗 but then some of the people came out and formed this branch which they do not call themselve Taoist anymore. A real taoist shall have both the Taoism's power 道法 and ethics with theories 德行. In the Dragon Tiger mountain formed by Jeung Dao Ling in the 220BC, there is a poem in the side of the big temple saying : 道功龍虎伏, 德重鬼神欽 meaning when your Tao (the power or energy) is high, you could even command the tiger and dragon those who are very mighty. When you ethics are high, you gain respect from god and ghost. This have conclude what a Taoist need to be a good Taoist. The Luk Yam Sun Gung practitioners focused on the performance, but not on the ethics. You could see from what they do with the knife and speaking. The reason why they have been very happy with the knife testings game is because the way they like to promote in the 1960s. What they do is to write the Taoism fu (charms) with the sword finger onto a knife to makes the blade dull for cutting human only and then the knife will be chopped onto the human. This method is recorded in Taoism scripture, the master one called Do Jong (Taoism Canon) 道藏 . The symbols are three to four words, simple and easy to learn. What makes you understand when you cut yourself with a knife or razor? No matter what you do, if your training in ethics of Tao is not good, your taoism power is just limited to a certain level which do not benefit you in any way. By sticking your mind in the knife-cutting and self-chopping game, you may get into a fatasy but slowly loosing the truth of Taoism. Luk Yam San Gung could not be compared to the real Taoism because it is not complete, because the system does not include something that brings people to the ethics and morality training which help people in life. 25. Immortality - the various views

It is a very good start witth reading the Tao Te Ching, it is a very important thing to read what the grandmasters said in taoism before. Tao Te Ching is a book that never outdate, because it only tell you how the nature works and the laws of nature, so it never outdate because nature runs the same way forever just in a cycle system. In Taoism training, you will notice that this phrase here means something different but I do not know how to share what I learn with you because it is all wordless and you cannot put it on paper, it is something you get and you cannot explain, because you must feel through out the trianing process. Here I can only try my best to explain what an "immortal" is in Taoism. Grandmasters who are Taoism branch founders in the old days all became immortals after their trainings. This means that they have trained themself to live with and without their body. When they are with their body, they learn how to live healthy and in good shape. When their body dies out, they learn to live with total control with their soul and energy combined together so that they do travels through dimensions to achieve higher level of trianing in the universe to go out of the universe we are in now. That is their goal in the highest stage of Taoism. In the outer universe, they got out of the cycling system and so they go back into the nature, and became their most original form. Just like the three pure god in Taoism who were trained to achieve this stage and now we all the taoist worship and recieve energy from them with different methods. Ex; chantings, meditation, doing rituals, ceremonies etc,. You will know if you do it. By training under an official Taoism master, you will learn how to communicate with the energy of these immortals and gain knowledge from them wihle you practise. Their body dies but their energy and souls still alive in the universe, they could come back to this world anytime, anywhere to teach and bring message to those who have the ability to inherit their wisdom. Just like the Taoist Jeung Dao Ling, his knowledge of Taoism was taught by LaoZi when LaoZi came back down from the outter universer to pass on the knowledge of taoism to him in 220BC. We could not be immortals here because we are still very polluted and affected by all these technologies. If one want to go this route in training, they will first go through all the things they have to do in a normal life like go to school, graduate, live, work, marriage while they are learning Taoism under a master. Then to a stage of practise where they will choose to give up everything and go into the mountain to train and isolate themselve from the society to find the wisdom of tao. There on, it is the beginning of immortal training. Electricity is something that will distrube our training in Taoism for sure. Therefore, no immortals could go immortal in this internet filled world. they all hide away from us. Because it is just too polluted here. Mak Tin si
