  1. SM - Importance of Tree gong

They recognize you. Once a person has practiced Stillness-Movement for a while, and raised the energy body vibration, and once you have practiced with one tree, due to the connection of Tree other Tree will also recognize you. Which is really cool! What I said about projecting qi into top of tree; this I do just to help them as I feel humanity has neglected the relationship for soooo long. And there is no problem awakening Tree in winter IF we practice Listening. One will know whether Tree will be grumpy or just exited about the contact. Also, do practice your observation skills, as it becomes easier to correlate the looks of trees and the energetics and distinguish between old Warrior Tree, young and enthusiastic, male or female. How about this; a tree sounds like: http://vimeo.com/30501143
  2. Don't know if any retreat or workshop can be absolutely perfect. I can describe our Hilton Head Island intensive that we had in November of last year; it was very nice. Schedule: 9 AM - 5 PM: Nothing at all planned or scheduled. View from classroom is right on the beach with dolphins jumping (once we called them up). Only thing we needed to do was dance in the Wu Wei, following the energetics in the moment of the moment. Fresh fish and fresh beer at night. Now, practically speaking, for the serious students, we were up before 6 AM doing Qigong running on the beach followed by all 3 Gift of the Tao movement sets. Then the actual class starting at 9 . Eat fish and drink beer from 5 - 10 followed by several hours of neigong on the beach. Come to think on it, for many, it was perfect.

Many descriptions of energy centers out there. Sometimes in the 80's I quit looking at other material so I could concentrate on my own material without contamination of thought. So I have no idea about the source of or correlation to what you posted. I do know that many times people at different ends of Earth receive similar information through the Levels.
  4. Camping in Washington State is one of the more awesome things that a person can do. Camp by a running stream and get free massage by wading in the stream. Let the night air pamper you as you bring in the negative ions from the stream. Let the glory of Tao pamper you as you sit in the morning, listening to the water flow, and gaze at nature's beauty. BEST RETREAT EVER!!! And you can most probably do a week for less than $200. Come back home refreshed and fully charged. I would LOVE to be able to do this again. Such an amazingly beautiful expression of nature exists in Washington!
  5. Learning pulse diagnosis on your own

EVERYTHING! Leave nothing unobserved. From tone of voice to color of skin to posture to eyes to body structure to speech manner/patterns to gestures - everything! It is amazing how much one can tell from simple observation.
  6. Learning pulse diagnosis on your own

Indeed. I think that what the OP is doing is great, but generally it is after the practitioner gets out into the real world of clinic applications that they develop this to its higher stages. BUT. My suggestion is to remember, as well, the other diagnostic tools. Tongue, to me, says as much or more. More powerful than that is simple observation. Practice of observation is one of the more powerful diagnostic tools. SO many times I have been accused of being "psychic" by a client when all I was doing is observing. It gets to where you can walk into a room and get a pretty good feel for people's problems. Then, there are energetics, which, to me, are more valuable than any type of pulse or tongue diagnosis followed by therapy, but is also inseparable from observation as changes are in real time. But I don't say this to not encourage the palpation exercises, which are extremely helpful. I learned all the standard pulse and tongue stuff then trained in increasing palpation skills by using a hair under a sheet of paper; palpate then add a sheet; palpate then add a sheet... But nothing comes close to actual clinical experience treating many people. We more often than not find that the "book learning" doesn't jive with the actual person's problems or at least it reveals only a small part. And the same is true with western medicine application.
  7. SM - Importance of Tree gong

I do wish to stress the importance of vibration as in energy body vibration rate. It is not strictly necessary to project qi into top of Tree. It is more important to have raised one's own energy body vibration and to approach Tree with that calmness and respect based on the higher level vibration. Sometimes, especially in the winter, the projection of qi into top of tree can be helpful to get the tree's attention. But the interaction thereof is dependent on the energy body vibration.
  8. SM - Importance of Tree gong

I think respect, as a vibrant Being of Light, is key. Also, Tree recognizes when a person has raised their energy body vibration. I usually project Qi through the treetops down into the trunk - then they recognize me. Lots of times, from Tree, its like, "Hey! Someone who practices energetics like I do! WOW - I thought humanity had forgotten! So few!"
  9. SHaking

We are multidimensional Beings of Light simultaneously operating in multiple dimensions. Awakening to this; knowledge and participation can be an extremely useful tool for growth.
  10. NLP/Hypnosis and energy work?

There is a graduate of my 500 hr clinical qigong program who also teaches hypnosis and NLP. As a therapeutics tool these are very helpful. "I'm really curious if it's possible, for example, to model exactly what a chi gong master does in terms of how they access the feeling and kinesthetics of doing chi gong for decades, in order to accelerate growth and cultivation of bioenergy." The only way to do this is to practice chi gong for decades - no substitute or shortcut.
  11. Gift of the Tao II Neigong Movements

Oh yes! Simply beyond description for me. What folks need to realize is that it is the continued practice that keeps the energy body charged. And, to quote myself, "When we practice we know things. When we stop practicing not only do we forget what we know, we also forget that we knew."
  12. How they do it in China

The actual Qigong Hospitals were the real jewels. Not only were the patients taught qigong but medical qigong treatments were performed on everyone. These hospitals differed from the TCM hospitals that had a minor qigong department. From A Light Warrior's Guide to High Level Energy Healing page 77: "The Baoding Qigong Healing Hospital was a small hospital with one hundred beds and a staff of 12 Qigong Doctors. The hospital did no western medicine, only medical qigong. They had an amazing rate of cure with everything from car wreck victims to post surgery recovery patients. ...I witnessed and later participated in some of the most amazing methods of healing to exist on this Earth." It is such a shame that the political environment caused these amazing hospitals to be mostly a thing of the past and the current policy of "scientific breathing methods" and calisthenics exercise has caused qigong to be the shadow of qigong as it once was. The majority of the qigong healing methods are preserved by the people who studied medical qigong at the hospitals in the 70's through the 90's. At one period of time in my career in running a medical qigong clinic I did refuse to take on a client unless they learned and practiced qigong. This eventually proved to be an act of frustration and simply doesn't work in the west as the majority of people are too lazy to assume responsibility for their own health. Even though the numbers are increasing yearly, the learning of and the practice of qigong remains intensely small compared to people concentrating on the traditional western physical exercises. Just go out in the morning in any city in the USA and see how many runners there are compared to people in the parks doing qigong.

Good. I think what can happen and I certainly believe it to be the case with Pai Mei, is that initially, due to the energetic vibration, the "feeling" can be very intense. But once we settle in with the changes brought on by the increased energy body vibration, we are now at a new "norm". So it may not feel as intense and we may think, falsely, that there is not as much happening. I highly encourage anyone to stick with it as there will be more but possibly slower changes. It is NOT that "it quit working". We just may not realize the extent. At times others will notice the changes in us more so than we do. Gift of the Tao is an integrated aspect of Stillness-Movement, continued practice brings untold benefits. Quit having expectations, just do. Yes, some days and even period of times are better than others, but the key is to not lost sight of the practice. Try to do a bit of it periodically until things settle down and we can resume full tilt.
  14. SM - Importance of Tree gong

God post and description by Friend! Our system utilizes this relationship to help with many things, not the least of which is a better personal and intimate understanding of root Taoism. Tree knows things due to root connection with Earth and other Tree. Sharing these things with you only occurs with the deep friendship Friend is referring to. The Qi interaction is very powerful but it must always be a respectful interaction - never the taking of qi. Due to this interaction, the very core of our energy body is refined to be more in harmony and even our wai qi liao fa is enhanced. I highly encourage each Stillness-Movement practitioner to spend time with trees and do the Tree qigong as was taught, if possible on a daily basis. Do not consider it to be a separate but instead an intricate aspect of the system.

oops, sorry, I misspoke. I was some reason thinking of our lying down sequential method when I wrote that. Laogong is OK to be included in that. Also remember that when we do Stillness-Movement Laogong is exercised extensively. For the SECAB&DE, there is absolutely no need. The way it is laid out is the way it was shown to me. Please let us not confuse beginners looking at this. In it's existing configuration, which IS optimized, SECAB&DE is a mind-blowingly awesome & powerful complete energy center method and I think anyone that gives it a 30 day trial will see this for themselves. Remember me saying "Some days are better than others, always has been and always will be." This too shall change.
  16. Gift of the Tao II Neigong Movements

I originally included Laogong both hands but if we do wai qi liao fa this is already exercised tremendously so it would be duplication.
  17. Gift of the Tao II Neigong Movements

There is a difference between these major energy centers and internal organs. This movement set is not about internal organs but about expansion of the energy body. That said, it will increase qi circulation to the whole body as well as any qigong. We could say each cell is an energy center. We also could include the palms of hands, liver, ming men, each fingertip, each toetip, the eyes, the ears, etc. But we don't - it would make it confusing and take 3 hours for a single movement if we did that. The movement is done exactly like I lay it out on the DVD. I know of no other single movement that is as complete in activating and balancing the major energy centers and expanding the energy body dimensionally. Try the movement for a few weeks and see if you don't agree.
  18. walking chi kung

Send me an email detailing your Stillness-Movement experience and we will see if we can't walk you right into it.
  19. HA HA Yeah, sometimes it just doesn't sink in. A few weeks ago one student was telling me about another student who asked or rather told him that he was excited cause he just read in a book that a person should do xxxx with the energy when doing this one particular projection. The student telling me this said he looked at the guy really funny and said, you know, I was there when Michael told you that same exact thing at least 20 times. huh!
  20. I have found that balance of all the energy centers is better than activating only one, hence the SECAB&DE in our system. Yes, everything comes back to true heart, but without balancing all other aspects it makes it difficult to always act from true heart.
  21. At least the haircut part...but only if this guy is the barber!
  22. Both. I never attempt to break anything down and rather look at the whole. An example of film catching energy: I was driving on Navajo land and all of a sudden heard a spirit calling, looked over and there the spirit was, hovering over this large rock formation. I stopped the vehicle and went outside to commune as I recognized this to be a sacred area and place of power. I did so. While I was doing that my wife got out and took some pictures. When we later got home and developed them sure enough, there was the spirit.
  23. I want to grow magic mushrooms

Well, Shitaki mushrooms are majical in their medicinal properties and are easy to grow and are not illegal. But most probably you are referring to a different srhrooom. I would advise against it. These mushrooms have a most powerful spirit associated with them. Once you become attuned all you have to do is drive around cow pastures and it is really easy to feel them - the spirit calls. IMO the better way is self cultivation without the power plants and one can arrive at the same self-realization and multidimensional awareness. One problem with what you are suggesting, to just look at them and be defiant in their growing, is that there will be real temptation to go ahead and eat them due to the spirit calling. This is a path that can be dangerous.
  24. A talented man he is, for sure. Basically only folks who are actual qigong (or other equivalent energy practices) practitioners, or who are natural talents, can see what is really happening. Most everyone else is going to naturally assume to think it is comedy or staged. Absolutely he is doing serious energetics - several here, like you, JohnC, Suninmyeyes, Brian, & others, can see the energetics. And it is quite powerful. Also, as you say, laughter is good medicine (although some insist on old caveman habits of throwing sticks), so it doesn't matter if people can see it or not. One of my points in posting this was to show the hidden use of energetics; in this case hidden inside :"comedy" "enthusiastic". There are actually many hidden practitioners out there. One can implement energetics inside of whatever it is that they do whether it be surgery, counseling, speaking, rock n roll musicians (we have all these type practitioners in our medical qigong) or barbering. You Bet! Me too!
  25. Try watching again but this time get in your qi state, think of nothing, and put your focus halfway between you and the screen.
