  1. Scott Meredith

Everything Scott does is directed at teaching us to feel the energy. So yes, his books and vids are totally in accord. Energy-Centric Tai Chi... (but once you pick it up, you can use that energy for any practice... or just ... living...)
  2. [DDJ Meaning] Chapter 26

This is one of the DDJ Chapters that originally drew me into the DDJ... through Waysun Liao's translation in Nine Nights with the Taoist Master... He comments on it as the importance of maintaining the connection to Dao or source (the heavy baggage, or, better, the supply train), taking care not to be distracted by changing external circumstances... I love this chapter!
  3. Hello From Atlanta

Hello the elchemist... Nice to meet you... Care to tell us a bit more about yourself, and what interests you in DB? (Love to hear that stuff )
  4. Do some research on circadian rhythms, and how they are related to the amount and timing of light (and exercise) you get. Try getting outside into bright light as early in the day as you can manage. This can help reset the rhythm. Light therapy can help, that is getting an artificial light that gives you the necessary wavelengths at the right time. Seem to remember something called a Go Light, not necessary to get that device, but read what they say about influence of using the light at different times of the day. They had a questionnaire to determine how your rhythm was disturbed, and then told you when to get the light to optimally reset it. Good you've noticed this and that you're wanting to change it... Good luck!
  5. By way of introduction

Hello Qi is Me... Curious about what you've been practicing for twenty years...

  7. Yes, his huge textbooks are amazing.... and all 25% off for the three day sale.... I have a number of them, but can't say I actually use them much, alas. Still, they're really hard to resist...
  8. Hey y'all, Don't know how Mo Pai got in a topic about JAJ and Redwing Books. Please take it elsewhere. Thanks.
  9. Greetings and Salutations

Welcome truli zhen! (I love your screen name, but auto ed has a hard time with it!) Looking forward to reading your posts...
  10. New research exposes how biophotons may be responsible for the transmission of adverse effects of radiation between individuals, and illuminates how the fabric of human consciousness may be based in light. The first part of this article is kind of sobering, but maybe just concentrate on the later part, talking about biophoton research and discoveries, which is where light-based human consciousness is discussed. You can scroll down to The Bystander Effect: Biophotons as a Central Player http://www.greenmedinfo.com/blog/biophotons-common-thread-linking-human-consciousness-and-hidden-perils-cancer-rad
  11. LEDs

Hey CloudHands, I've studied the health effects of light quite a bit, and that article from the Daily Mail is an excellent summary of the most important facts and precautions. Thank you!
  12. sacred masculine

Rickie, probably not what you are asking about, but this might interest you. It has been truly life-changing for a number of men around here. http://mankindproject.org
  13. Paths align feet alight...

Welcome, Brigid. Very glad your feet alighted here.
  14. Why north ?

Something about the North Star and the Big Dipper? I thought you were going to TELL us, CloudHands...

  16. zhinneng qiqong

Hey jojomihijo, Don't do zhinneng qigong, but sure do like your screen name! So welcome!
  17. You are what you eat

Gerard, thank you for these posts. I recently took an online course teaching how to apply Chinese understanding to massage therapy. (That's not a very good description of this excellent course). Studying the organ systems and five element theory was a real eye-opener! It was huge for helping me see what I needed to do in my own life to improve long standing tendencies. I had no idea they were all connected like that! Even after this illuminating course, it is still too easy to fall back into old habits and forget, so I especially appreciate your taking this up. I hope you will continue in this vein. Very helpful!
  18. Well, while I hesitate to mention his name , Mantak Chia has some interesting stuff about chi, the pineal, pituitary and hypothalamus glands, cerebrospinal fluid, as well as how to activate them. The book, Craniosacral Chi Kung looks interesting. And at least the co-author is a craniosacral therapist, lol.... Some interesting hints about where the book goes here: https://www.consciouslifestylemag.com/pineal-gland-activation-third-eye/ Then there's JAJ's books on Daoist alchemy, where he describes the nine chambers of the brain and how to activate them....unfortunatley a very long and involved process... and the chambers he describes are more energy centers than the actual physical glands...
  19. And, Rene, maybe you also felt the heart energy pouring out through us! LOL Anyway, very happy you dropped by. The writings on the site have never drawn me much, with a few notable exceptions, and I almost missed the gold because they did not draw me... The energy work is a whole different story. But I do appreciate your checking it out!
  20. We just did a dive (group energy meditation, I guess we could call it) over at LU slack... I had a bit of steam built up from reading this morning's posts here... but still able to be mostly amused at the kafuffle... But what really struck me was having the experience of showering energy pouring down from above, a continuous blessing flowing down through my body... just an amazing space... And then coming back over here and reading what some people think the "light practices" involve, and how dangerous they are.... Of course YMMV... but, still.... does not compute.
  21. Well, from my POV, this thread has been WAY more interesting than most of the other threads currently getting traction on DB, and I have enjoyed ALL the comments tremendously. (Although I do admit to some surprise at all the attention this OP has attracted...) Please do carry on!
  22. CityHermit!:Hello

Hard core, Rene! I lived for years without electricity, but we had a wood stove and buckets. So we fetched water and heated it with wood...But that still sounds like a piece of cake compared to living in town without electricity or heat! then again, in town there's always Starbucks...
  23. Make weapon out of chi?

@king... So maybe you could say something interesting about this interesting topic to bring it back on track....
