I am currently reading a book called 'Mini Habits', by Stephen Guise, that I think you might find helpful with this particular issue, it is a short book

I recommend okra. Do not chop it first. Easy way to prepare is to steam it for 10 minutes, then you can put some salt, olive oil, and vinegar on it. Indian markets will often have it fresh or in those precooked meals that come in packets. Or you can get it frozen. Do not chop it before cooking. Not as good as okra but also helpful is fresh pineapple.

Thank you for your previous responses Sifu Terry and Earl Grey. Still haven't replaced my broken DVD player : ( Resumed practicing the meditation from the Advanced Seated Monk Serves Wine DVD recently with breathings sequence 70 50 20 10, can someone please remind me- at the end of each repetition, when hands go from mudra on knees to monk serves wine position in front of face, at that point do they go down to the knees or down to the lap, palms up right hand over left? thanks-

Wanting to resume practice of the advanced seated after a break and my DVD player is broken : ( Can someone remind me, for the 'sleeper' (50 20 10), at the end of each round when hands are in lap palms up thumbs touching, what is the transition from that to hands in prayer position in front of chest? Is it slide the palms apart and put backs of fingers/hands together pointing up and moving up? Forgot, thanks!

Hi Sifu Terry,
Curious as to which art(s) you referred to in the following quote of yours ? "the most powerful and most subtle internal martial arts in the White Tiger tradition are based the position of the sun (and the moon)." thanks-

Sifu Terry, is it ok to do cold showers or ice baths after Flying Phoenix practice?

Meeks- fascinating stuff! Lately been getting more into Ayurveda, Vedic Astrology, and Hindu Deities. Would love to hear more about your experiences in this vein, particularly if you'd care to share what kinds of practices led up to these kinds of experiences. Any resources you'd recommend for such practices?

If memory serves he was extremely ill when younger so when you judge someone's health maybe its best done relative to where they started out-

Have you considered sending your first post on this thread to BKF as a letter? If you're going to leave anyway, what's the harm/risk? Perhaps there's a small chance he'll apologize/mend his ways.
I do not know the man, but perhaps he comes from a place of trying to make as much money as he can while giving as little as possible for it in return. I once had an old Chinese bagua teacher (not saying this is a racial thing) who seemed to act in this way.
I, myself, have had at least one job where I tried to get paid as much as I could for doing as little as I could.

If memory serves in the book Death and the Magician it is reported that Houdini exposed Blavatsky as a fraud, catching her in the act of fakery during a seance.

Hi Sifu Terry,
I will be trying a hyperbaric oxygen chamber this week for the first time and thought it might be a good place to practice some FP, specifically the meditation from volume one with breathing sequence 50 40 30 20 10 done laying down, any contraindications? Also maybe in a floatation tank/sensory deprivation chamber next week. thanks-

Hi Sifu Terry,
Thank you for your responses to my earlier questions. While doing the stationary/non-moving standing and seated FP meditations from your dvds, is it ok to simultaneously place one's attention on the feeling-energy of negative emotions, when present, within the body? Just feeling that energy, divorced from the story, without getting taken over by it. I know you'd written previously one can think about anything while doing FP as long as it isn't negative so wasn't sure, thanks.

Sifu Terry,
You've written previously about the importance of doing Flying Phoenix in areas of positive energy. Would it be bad to practice the 90 second flash meditations in a public restroom, if one was at work or it was the only convenient and private location in a pinch?

Hi Sifu Terry, for the basic seated unmoving FP meditation with breathing sequence 50-10-50, can the hands rest on the thighs/knees if an elderly person is practicing who doesn't have the strength to hold the hands mid-air for a long period of time?
