Just finished reading Alice Burmeister's book The Touch of Healing and have begun experimenting with this method. Am excited about it and wondering if anyone else here has used it much and what kind of results they've had.

Wow that is the most impressive chi kung collection I have ever seen!! Curious as to which have been your favorites, which you most recommend, which you found most powerful...?

Has anyone had a personal experience with any of the Hindu Deities?
growant replied to meeks's topic in Hindu Discussion
Meeks- fascinating stuff! Lately been getting more into Ayurveda, Vedic Astrology, and Hindu Deities. Would love to hear more about your experiences in this vein, particularly if you'd care to share what kinds of practices led up to these kinds of experiences. Any resources you'd recommend for such practices? -

Do you trust Daniel Reid health advice ?

If memory serves he was extremely ill when younger so when you judge someone's health maybe its best done relative to where they started out- -

Learning Taoist Meditation with BK Frantzis

Have you considered sending your first post on this thread to BKF as a letter? If you're going to leave anyway, what's the harm/risk? Perhaps there's a small chance he'll apologize/mend his ways. I do not know the man, but perhaps he comes from a place of trying to make as much money as he can while giving as little as possible for it in return. I once had an old Chinese bagua teacher (not saying this is a racial thing) who seemed to act in this way. I, myself, have had at least one job where I tried to get paid as much as I could for doing as little as I could.- 16 replies

If memory serves in the book Death and the Magician it is reported that Houdini exposed Blavatsky as a fraud, catching her in the act of fakery during a seance.

Bak Fu Sunn Yee Gong Complete level 1 DVD
growant replied to Warrior Body Buddha Mind's topic in Group Studies
Sifu Garry, How does one know they are ready to move on to level 2- are there any benchmarks or signs one should look for from practice of the complete level 1 dvd that would indicate its time to add level 2? -

Awesome! Are there 18 complete levels (4X18=72?) or...? How do the other previously released dvds relate to the complete level 1?- are they the seated postures for the first 4 levels? trying to understand how the system fits together. Also, what kind of time frame are you looking at for all the complete levels/the whole system being released to the public? -

After rewatching the video it seems for the fourth, the long form, you take 3 deep breaths at the beginning and end, correct? -

Second question Sifu Garry- for the short form, you take 2 deep breaths, one breath (exhale-inhale) using the 1 breath percentage, then 2 deep breaths to come out? And for the long form, its not clear- do you start with three deep breaths, THEN do three breaths with the 3 breath percentages, or do you start right into the breath percentages without the preliminary 3 deep breaths? And do you take three deep breaths at the end to come out? thanks -

Does this dvd contain the breath percentages? Do you end like FP with 3 deep breaths, the last one ending with an open-mouthed loud exhale? Also Sifu Garry, can you expand on the specific health benefits conferred by this dvd? thanks- -
Thanks for the comprehensive response Taomeow. I know you're down on Starbucks coffee, but are you familiar with the expensive Clover machine that some locations have? It doesn't use a paper filter but rather a metal screen so I think the coffee it produces would retain the oils and their benefits you speak of? Wonder what other foods/beverages you recommend for increasing jing?
-
Taomeow, Curious as to your thoughts on the following, excerpted from an article on jing here http://www.rawforestfoodsblog.com/what-really-is-jing/ Similarly, reliance on coffee borrows from—depletes the—jing. Is it sometimes necessary to do so? Possibly, but keep in mind that jing is finite and is not bottomless, and that every time coffee is drank, a bit of jing is subtracted from the life span. Just as every time fossil fuels are burnt, the lifespan of the earth is shortened. Chinese medicine is very different from Western medicine: where Western medicine views everything as separate, both in microcosm (within the body) and in macrocosm (outside of the body), in Chinese medicine there is no separation, and the same pathology which can affect a person can affect the environment.

WBBM, I think I read on one of the threads that its OK to do both FP and SYG as long as they are seperated in time? Is that correct?
-
I'm going to guess that the breath percentages make all chikungs/exercises work on shen more?
