  1. Soul in Buddhism

    The Buddha does not really deny the phenomena of duality, along with many other phenomenas in the universe. The Buddha has mentioned very interesting things like how a human lifespan changes in different times from 15 years to 80,000 years. How the universe ends and starts a new cycle, detailed description on earth burning up as the multiple suns emerge in the sky from a contracting universe. But the Buddha does not proliferate on an on about such things. He declares it only to the extent it points to the 4 noble truths, uses such knowledge to support the end of suffering. He is very precise in what kind of knowledge and "views" in relation to it leads to the end of suffering. Fully understanding the nature duality, DOES NOT free you from suffering. It will probably give you powers and some levels of manipulation over physical reality (which is nothing particularly special, as heavenly devas can already do). So time is spend on other task in the path of buddhism. Different goals, produce result in the development of different knowledges and results.

    The Buddha did not deny energy, the laws of energy, and other kinds of phenomena in the world. He has hinted about energy, sentient beings on other planets, etc. He is aware of a lot more then people think, but decided to put his effort into a framework specific to the goal of nibbana. Him not talking about yin yang, is not the same as denying it.
  4. It is heavily dependent on the teacher. A good teacher or system will understand what you are going through, will be able to give you an answer to what is happening. And these answers are "consistent" among good teachers. And it also clarifies teachings you might have heard in the past, but overlooked as insignificant, but are quite important. Pursue this journey gradually, and constantly ask these questions you are asking. Manage your expectations when you commit large portions of your time. Be honest what you gained, and what you did not achieve relative to time spent. Many practitioners I have met, who has good skills, are lazy. Lazy in a sense where they only practiced things that produced results, and applied only what was instructed, did nothing more, nothing less. Extremely picky. A highly precise kind of laziness. And you will realize they all did not so different things. And the lazy me will only pick the practice that is the common denominator of all these lazy people, and only practice those few things they all practice. Not more, Not less. To be the laziest one of all.
  5. One-Pointedness of Mind

    The Buddha never said "right" concentration was one-pointedness. He said the noble right concentration is only right when it is developed within the framework of the 8 fold path, with right view as its basis. The Jhanas has a quality of one pointedness. But it is not the determining factor that makes it "right" in the context of buddhism. The determining quality that makes it right in the context of buddhism, is the first factor right view. The jhanas can be done wrongly. The Buddha made that distinction. But if one is not interested in Buddhism, the goal of the path. Then sure, they can highlight that quality of one pointedness as the prominent factor for their practice.
  6. What can be said about Qi

    Oxygen is not a form of qi. It is a manifestation of qi. It is not qi. You have to discern laters of phenomena this way. The daoist sciences discerns the causal chain of the dao to wuji, to yin yang permutations, into the elements, into physical existence. Everytime you mention phenomena, you have to respect this framework and causal chain. If you don't, and just casually say oxygen is Qi, you depart from the entire daoist science.
  7. What can be said about Qi

    Qi is the basis for the existence of oxygen. But oxygen is not qi. Because how can oxygen be something that is the basis of other things? So one cannot say oxygen is Qi. It is like saying. Hot soup is fire. But fire although is a basis for hot soup, it is also a basis for other hot dishes. So saying hot soup is fire is silly.
  8. What can be said about Qi

    Every experience is mind experience. It cannot be "outside" of mind's phenomena. Whatever we perceive as external, is still an internal experience within the mind. Nibbana is a different thing. It is the unconditioned, where something like "life force" cannot be. It is beyond the idea of life itself. The end of birth aging sickness, and death.
