  1. Your opinion about reiki?

    Thanks! That's super helpful
  2. Your opinion about reiki?

I'm well aware that interacting with other people's karma generates a large amount of karma yourself, but honestly, I'm not seeking to live a completely karma free life. I love people, and I want them to flourish. The way i see it is like this - each and every cell in your body is a conscious individual, and works in harmony with all the other cells, they are one - if they didn't, you would die. Similarly, humans form a collective consciousness, an organism - humanity. And every other species of animal, plant and fungus on earth comprise the 'cells' of the biggest organism - earth. They're just different cosms, each a different scale. I love earth, humans, and all the other critters, and if we aren't functioning properly, society will fail, and earth will slowly be destroyed (as it already is). So I've dedicated my path to healing people, but also teaching people to heal themselves. I will of course look after myself and ensure my health, but I have a bigger picture in mind than me. I will still play it as it comes - if i decide that i can do more by keeping my chi to myself and harnessing it for other activities, then that's what i will do. If I feel that what I do isn't having the desired effect, i will change it up. Nothing is set in stone, right now I'm just trying to empower myself as much as possible so that i can do what i need to do, when i need to do it. Yeah I have definitely started to realise how flawed the whole perception of the mo pai is - now that i've started to read damo's "a comprehensive guide to nei'kung", he actually seems to know what he's talking about. I'm glad to hear that though. It's funny that people now have to decondition from 'mo pai' like they had to decondition from their parents once they left home, the first perspective you get on a world is rarely the correct one.
  3. Your opinion about reiki?

Ahah yes that's a good point... Yeah fair enough How very daoist of you May I ask what lineage/tradition you align yourself with? Also another question: a large part of the reason that i wanted to get into nei'gong (apart from my drive for self mastery and enjoyment of meditation and technical arts) is to be able to use it for healing purposes (i first heard about nei'kung through ring of fire & kostas books, how stereotypical of me). I'm trying to learn every different form of healing that i can (sound, psychedelic, massage, hatha yoga, nutrition, physical detoxs, psychology etc), and integrate them all into a retreat system, to be fully holistic. I of course know that healing others is done in mo pai, but what of other traditions? Because in the mo pai system you accumulate much more chi than in the other systems (from what I've read), and i would imagine that this would make it a lot more sustainable to heal people? Do other lineages still have powerful healing practices/abilities?
  4. Your opinion about reiki?

What is xie Qi? This makes sense, I've heard of so many reiki practitioners taking on the illnesses of their clients, and developing cancer etc. I'm guessing that those are practitioners with smaller amounts of chi Are you not able to contain your qi and stop it from flowing into someone else's body?
  5. Okay sweet, I'll take a look at it. Thanks
  6. I haven't, I didn't know that was a thing.
  7. Hi freeform, so I watched all of damos videos (except the kidney nourishing, that's next). I'm currently practicing anchoring the breath in my meditations, and really enjoying it. I was wondering, in the first few steps of sinking the chi, should one focus on their dantien (when your hands are up by your eyebrows etc)? I know that he said you must in the last position when u use the mudra but not sure about the first part. (I'm going to continue practicing anchoring the breath and locate the dantien as he described first before i do that tho). Also, should one still be stretching the palm bones apart when doing the mudra? Also, thanks for recommending damo, his videos are super informative, super helpful. Definitely going to watch every last video on his channel
  8. Sure, but once I finish my degrees I intend on moving overseas, and saving up cash (psychedelic assisted psychotherapy), then starting a couple retreat centers, and using that flow of cash to support me while I travel around and learn from various different teachers in different cultures etc. Thats perfect because then I can focus on Damos videos for a good couple years in preparation
  9. Yeah by nature I am drawn to experiment, but at the same time i am also cautious and not completely reckless - hence all my questions. But i think that I will follow Damo's method for now and save any potential experimenting for a later time when I am more knowledgable and experienced (or just not experiment at all to be honest).
  10. Okay lovely, that's good to know. I'll definitely start watching his videos more. I did check out his academy the other day, its just quite expensive for me (I'm in africa so our currency is weak)
  11. Trust me, I'm not trying to get initiated into Mo Pai.. it's just my line of reference because kostas book was what opened my eyes to nei'kung. The reason that i was asking was because a lot of traditions have similarities. My plan is pretty much to exclusively cultivate my dantien as much as possible until a later point in my life when i can travel and find a proper teacher somewhere, and then begin doing more complex things with my chi. I don't have my eyes on any specific tradition, the universe will take me where it takes me. Right now I'm just interested in learning more about dantien cultivation Edit: and I don't want to harden my dantien prematurely as kosta suggested, just taking precuations
  12. I see. I hadn't got the time to properly watch those videos yet, so I will reserve focusing on anything until after i watch them. I read that in mo pai one should focus on cultivating the dantien, but also do postures such as horse stance to circulate the chi so that the dantien doesn't harden prematurely. Could focusing on this point be a substitute for the horse stance? Not that I mind horse stance, just interested
  13. So I've started concentrating on my LDT area while I'm meditating, and I've noticed that my hands and feet get extremely warm when i do this. It's weird because they are normally almost always cold. I meditate in half-lotus. I've also noticed that it only happens when i concentrate on my LDT? What does this mean?
  14. I see. Thanks for the links, and all the insight. I really appreciate you taking the time out to help
  15. So i did a bit of research into finding and activating the lower dantien, and from what i have understood: one must enter a deep state of meditation, a trance like state (delta) and then focus one's attention on the area of the dantien, and keep an eye out for any sensations or feelings? That each person will feel their dantien in a different way, with a different sensation? So for example warmth, or tingles, or electric feel, or something similar? Am i missing anything?
  16. So forgive me if I'm horribly wrong but does that mean that 'filling' up your dantien is more to do with abdominal expansion/contraction than moving your breath further towards your L-dantien?
  17. Ahh, of course, the levels. I read that there are 49 levels somewhere? That makes a lot of sense. I've been clearing up the energy pathways in my body with kambo, but I'm going to take your advice and not pursue kundalini without a proper teacher
  18. Question: previously you explained to me that goosebumps are qi moving close to surface of skin. I noticed that if i focus my attention on a specific area of my body the goosebumps will begin to travel in that direction, although they often phase out and don't actually condense there. Would this be a result of yang qi? How would i ensure that i maintain enough yin qi to maintain a balance?
  19. Whats the difference between pre-heaven and post-heaven qi? Apologies for all the questions, its just so hard to research these things without getting a filtered westernised version. You've already helped me make a lot of links in my understanding
  20. Absolutely agree!!! I was looking online for resources on kundalini, and specific meditation and breathwork techniques and all i found were american white girls who are like #totallykundaliniawakened and #omgsospiritual. Nearly had an aneurysm. That's when i realised that I should probably ask here to get any real information and answers. Kundalini has been absolutely violated by the western world
  21. Thanks for the reply. What exactly are the different types of chi? (apart from yin/yang) - you mentioned divine chi?
  22. Hoppin on the ship

Hey everybody, I'm joining this lovely little community from Africa I don't really consider myself a taoist, or a buddhist, or anything else for that matter. I don't believe in labels, I just believe in trying to be as true to my higher self as possible, and to engage in any and all spiritual teachings and practices that speak to me. I love taoism, especially practices such as nei kung. I hope to really delve deep into these practices later into my life, as I'm still young and have a lot of shadow work to do, and a lot to learn about myself first. For now, I want only to stay humble and learn from others with more experience in this form of art. Much love to everybody reading this
  23. Goosebumps

Now you see thats an explanation that resonates more with me. Thank you
  24. Goosebumps

Hi everyone, I'm looking for an answer. Ever since my first rebirth into spirituality after a kambo ceremony, I began to get goosebumps. Before, they would be when I saw something awe-striking, now, they're just there most of the time. Every time i breath, if I'm concentrating on my body, goosebumps come in waves, and wash all over my body. I can't control them at all, they just move around randomly, in waves, at their own will. What are they? What do they signify or represent? Can someone explain this to me? I asked a reiki master before and she said that they were wind spirits. I asked an ascended master and she said that it was my bodies energy field expressing itself. What is the daoist explanation for this?
