Demonology. Why focus on the negative?
old3bob replied to Apotheose's topic in Esoteric and Occult Discussion
don't know about all of that Nungali, but what Cayce came up with was supposedly through trance...I image his original book (which I have) is not that easy to come by although there are apparently various editions of perhaps the same book? -
Don't know about all of that Mark but i will say: to surrender will takes will,

some of the logging methods have improved in the US compared to the decades of wanton and stupid clear cutting and related eco-systems destruction. But as far as i know the US Forestry Service still gives logging companies sweet deals and low prices to go into and cut area. (thus raise money for their department)

more on chocolate: "How Were the Levels of Lead and Cadmium Tested? Consumer Reports tested 28 different brands of chocolate bars (typically 1.5 to 3.5 ounces), from small lesser-known brands like Alter Eco and Hu to corporate giants like Ghirardelli, Lindt, Trader Joe’s and Hershey’s. Now, all of the chocolates contained some level of lead or cadmium. However, 23 of the bars raised the alarm bell: if someone were to consume just one ounce a day, they would exceed the maximum allowable dose levels (MADL) for lead and cadmium, as defined by California’s Prop 65 as 0.5 micrograms and 4.1 micrograms, respectively. California’s MADL regulations are the most protective in the country and currently, there are no federal limits for how much lead or cadmium a food can contain. Which Brands Are Affected? The following brands contained the highest levels of lead, cadmium or both, as expressed in a percentage of the MADL supplied in 1 ounce of the dark chocolate. Top 5 Highest in Lead Hershey’s Special Dark Mildly Sweet Chocolate (265%) Chocolove Extremely Dark Chocolate 88% Cocoa (240%) Hu Organic Simple Dark Chocolate 70% Cacao (210%) Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate 72% Cacao (192%) Endangered Species Bold and Silky Dark Chocolate 72% Cocoa (181%) Top 5 Highest in Cadmium Pascha Organic Very Dark Dark Chocolate 85% Cacao (253%) Alter Eco Organic Dark Chocolate Classic Blackout 85% Cacao (204%) Beyond Good Organic Pure Dark Chocolate 80% Cocoa (138%) Scharffen Berger Extra Dark Chocolate 82% Cacao (136%) Equal Exchange Organic Extra Dark Chocolate 80% Cacao (120%) Top 5 Highest in Lead and Cadmium Trader Joe’s the Dark Chocolate Lover’s Chocolate 85% Cacao (127% lead, 229% cadmium) Theo Organic Extra Dark Pure Dark Chocolate 85% Cocoa (140% lead, 189% cadmium) Green & Black’s Organic Dark Chocolate 70% Cacao (143% lead, 181% cadmium) Theo Organic Pure Dark 70% Cocoa (120% lead, 142% cadmium) Lily’s Extremely Dark Chocolate 85% Cocoa (143% lead, 101% cadmium) How Dangerous Is It to Eat These Brands? Significant exposure to lead can damage the brain and nervous system, as well as slow development and growth in children. Significant exposure to cadmium can lead to lung cancer, birth defects and harm to the reproductive system. The key word here, though, is “significant,” and experts seem to agree that while it’s wise to be mindful of these metal levels, it is not necessary to remove chocolate from your diet altogether. The National Confectioner’s Association (NCA) explained:”Chocolate and cocoa are safe to eat and can be enjoyed as treats as they have been for centuries. The California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) guidelines cited in the Consumer Reports study are not food safety standards.” They go on to explain that through their own prior Prop 65 settlement, they have proven that cadmium and lead are present in chocolate due to the soil the beans are grown in and that levels from Consumer Reports are “well below the limits established” by the NCA, according to spokesperson Christopher Gindlesberger. In an interview with NPR, Johns Hopkins toxicologist Andrew Stolbach affirms that the MADLs cited by Consumer Reports are “very conservative.” This is to account for those at higher risk, due to old age or preexisting conditions. He concludes, “The safety levels for lead and cadmium are set to be very protective, and going above them by a modest amount isn’t something to be concerned about.” Which Brands Are Safer to Eat? If you’d like to be extra cautious, Consumer Reports highlighted the following brands as safer dark chocolate options, based on their low lead and cadmium levels. Mast Organic Dark Chocolate 80% Cocoa (14% lead, 40% cadmium) Ghirardelli Intense Dark Chocolate 86% Cacao (36% lead, 39% cadmium) Taza Chocolate Organic Deliciously Dark Chocolate 70% Cacao (33% lead, 74% cadmium) Valhrona Abinao Dark Chocolate 85% Cacao (63% lead, 73% cadmium) Ghirardelli Intense Dark Chocolate Twilight Delight 72% Cacao (61% lead, 96% cadmium) What Else Can I Do? Additionally, to ensure any heavy metals you may consume are less likely to be absorbed, Strombach recommends eating a balanced diet rich in calcium and iron. These minerals have been proven to fight lead poisoning. In short, it is definitely possible to continue eating dark chocolate, but is worth considering which brands you consume, ensuring you are eating reasonable portion sizes and maintaining a healthy diet and lifestyle overall. Happy snacking!"

before the massive mindless slaughter of Buffalo, (or bison) which came very close to causing their extinction by merciless white marksmen, the plains Indians and others in north America lived pretty well per the combination of hunter/gathers methods. On a side note there are some very foolish people nowadays who go to Yellowstone national park and think they can get close to or even pet wild bison! Wild bison that can get over 1500 pounds along with their horns ready to defend themselves. early picture of man standing next to bison skulls

Her story reminded me of Chief Joseph, also the saying of: "do not become what you hate" or a new version of it. Chief Joseph (born c. 1840, Wallowa Valley, Oregon Territory—died September 21, 1904, Colville Reservation, Washington, U.S.) was a Nez Percé chief who, faced with settlement by whites of tribal lands in Oregon, led his followers in a dramatic effort to escape to Canada. The Nez Percé tribe was one of the most powerful in the Pacific Northwest and in the first half of the 19th century one of the most friendly to whites. Many Nez Percé, including Chief Joseph’s father, were converted to Christianity and Chief Joseph was educated in a mission school. The advance of white settlers into the Pacific Northwest after 1850 caused the United States to press the Native Americans of the region to surrender their lands and accept resettlement on small and often unattractive reservations. Some Nez Percé chiefs, including Chief Joseph’s father, questioned the validity of treaties pertaining to their lands negotiated in 1855 and 1863 on the ground that the chiefs who participated in the negotiations did not represent their tribe. When the United States attempted in 1877 to force the dissenting Nez Percé to move to a reservation in Idaho, Chief Joseph, who had succeeded his father in 1871, reluctantly agreed. While he was preparing for the removal, however, he learned that a trio of young men had massacred a band of white settlers and prospectors; fearing retaliation by the U.S. army, he decided instead to lead his small body of followers (some 200 to 300 warriors and their families) on a long trek to Canada. For more than three months (June 17–September 30, 1877), Chief Joseph led his followers on a retreat of about 1,600–1,700 miles (2,575–2,735 km) across Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Montana, outmaneuvering the pursuing troops, which outnumbered Joseph’s warriors by a ratio of at least ten to one, and several times defeating them in actual combat. During the long retreat, he won the admiration of many whites by his humane treatment of prisoners, his concern for women, children, and the aged, and also because he purchased supplies from ranchers and storekeepers rather than stealing them. The Nez Percé were finally surrounded in the Bear Paw mountains of Montana, within 40 miles (64 km) of the Canadian border. On October 5 Chief Joseph surrendered to Gen. Nelson A. Miles, delivering an eloquent speech that was long remembered: Chief Joseph and his band were sent at first to a barren reservation in Indian Territory (later Oklahoma); there many sickened and died. Not until 1885 were he and the remnants of his tribe allowed to go to a reservation in Washington—though still in exile from their valley. Meanwhile, Chief Joseph had made two trips to Washington, D.C., where, presented to Pres. Theodore Roosevelt, he pleaded for the return of his people to their ancestral home. See also Nez Percé. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ thus and at some point when faced with possible destruction one must make very hard decisions. Many of the native elders medicine people had to go underground so to speak so as to keep and be keepers their sacred ways, although more or less being hidden for an "X" amount of time until they could rise again to fight the good fight. download.webp

look at politics in the US and around the world, such are full of demonically or adharmic driven folks practicing greed, malice, sickening lies about anything or anyone from A-Z if it serves their purpose, serious harm against the common good, grift, violence and inciting violence in multiple forms, false imprisonment, insulting ways, propaganda while ignoring verifiable facts, (example: the "Big lie") nepotism, forms of genocide, theft, coups, destruction of decent humanistic norms, unlawful takeovers, health and environmental harm, ignoring reasonably founded and fair laws of the land that are meant to apply to everyone, stealing or corrupting elections, various and vast manipulation's of financial systems or laws to benefit themselves, sowing doubt and fear, temporary "rope a dope" types of shallow appeasements used to gain time for amassing ill begotten power, screwing with families daily lives and jobs, religious persecutions, making vice a virtue, etc., etc... such does not apply to all of them just way to many for the common people to deal with very well! -
what the hell give me a steam turbine/generator to run or something to fix, don't know about all the other interesting stuff...;-) do know that anything under the One belongs to the One and can not make a cross over to no-thing. (without dissolution as a thing)

"The phrase "The Tao gave birth to One" translates to "Tao, in its ultimate, undifferentiated state, is the source from which all things, including the concept of 'One,' emerge". It's the first step in the Tao Te Ching's description of the universe's formation, where Tao (the Way or Path) is the origin of all things." I'll go with this for now, alluding to the unmanifest manifesting in the sense of the "One"... thus connected but not the same for the One can be talked about (or named) but not the unmanifest other than being pointed towards.

Stranger things indeed: Andrew Jackson, a real deadly asshole for native peoples was also said to espouse the democrat way?

besides created try emanated, btw if Tao gave "birth to the One" what is the One? I'd say every-thing is under the One from the first to the last...

another way to also think about "God" is as a trillion volts and amps...which a Christ soul/conductor has zero resistance to although can transform-er that as to not burn up beings. Try to (force) touch "God" or a trillion volts and amps without zero resistance and something has gotta give...

the only thing i know about mushrooms is buying them at the grocery store, and trust they will be safe but that is not guaranteed either...(there has probably been an incident somewhere at sometime in some store with dire results?)

What is meant by Emptiness?? Especially in meditation??

in a nutshell "no thing" is empty of things including not being a thing, (yet is not nothing) there really is no need for years of suffering over the revealing fact of that, although such has to be passed through before the apparent quandary of it can be set down. -
in simple terms freedom based on spiritual laws is a wide ranging definition for "good", while slavery or enslavement and its violence is not of that goodness but is of evil...both are real potentials or facts for most all beings in varying degrees. The innate nature of beings is towards freedom, but to steal from and or enslave another and take away their freedom is evil (the opposite of live) The Earth and the astral realms are battlefields for those forces of good and evil in all of their variations. Reach an absolute/transcendent where such are not factors or in play for oneself then one could say there is no good or evil but only from that perspective, I'd say most of us have not reached that perspective or reality and must deal with such forces both within and without to the best of our abilities.

I've seen a few of those hand painted vehicles around, and remember the colorfully painted VW hippie buses in the late 60's in southern Cal...certain of those early VW busses (and bugs) are worth a fortune now.

Its been years since I've refinished a wooden table top. Some things I've come across: 1. be aware not to get too aggressive with sanding, namely with 80-120 grit paper and a belt or machine type sander! Such grit might be used if done super carefully by continuous movement of the sander but that grit can easily dig too deep and leave grooves! (never use coarse paper on veneer tops, most are very thin!) 2. the wood being sanded and the light you have on the project can make a big difference. for instance without good light and checking from different angles uneven sanding and missing spots is more likely, and if you apply a finish after those errors they will probably stand out clearly and need to be gone back over. That is not so bad if you have lots of depth of wood to re-sand but if you have a thin wood or a veneer re-sanding may go right through it and destroy your table. I don't have much experience in using chemical strippers and strong solvents to remove an old finish but i'd say even more caution is called for with them! For instance I once used a stripper on an old piano and it removed the surface coat alright but it also lifted out the grain sealer that I should have been aware of it doing, thus making the refinish job difficult and unsatisfactory) 3. choice of finish is a not always easy to make being there are all the different brands and types of finish available and the how or where the table is being used. I tend to like a penetrating wood stain coated with tung oil. Btw all tung oil is not created equal. Some tends to leave more on the surface which is ok depending on usage, another may penetrate down into the wood better and give a cleaner like coat. Do not rush the finish job and follow its directions closely or regret is likely. have fun and satisfaction on a job well done

Great looking boards! Righto on the getting back up and then down again. It would nice to have 50 cents on every dollar spent on crowns and root canals, no false teeth yet, oh wait I do have two small bridges- dam. Going to see a doctor soon since my balance is starting to get worse? I've got so many projects to do, and regular maint. on things from A-Z besides whatever honey-do's needed for my wife. (I even figured out how to fix her very old and new sewing machines) It would be nice to have a strong kid around to help with things! Speaking of painting I have a classic car and truck that need a lot of TLC in body and paint work, not sure I'll get those done any time soon besides I'm not experienced with the newer auto paints and paint guns. (Last time I painted a car was with good old Dupont enamel and a suction feed gun) Your humor here is appreciated Nungali ;-) Bob

yea, there is "the be true to your school aspect" although many of the "eastern" schools (thus their teachers) don't agree on certain basic or central stuff yet many tend to proclaim self-realization as being central. Such is similar with many religions, for instance Christianity, Islam and the Jews all proclaiming the same God yet they are often at deadly war with one another. -
