I feel like we don't have the same energy anymore, old people left, the ones who stayed don't post that much. Yes I know there are new people carrying the forum on it's back, if it weren't for them to post we would have like only a few posts per week. Cheers to those new members I also used to hype this forum when I started, good times back in 2019, and that wasn't even the peak, I came too late to this forum, envy for those who participated in those times Seems like in the past 3 years we went downhill bro I'm also out of ideas to post so I can't contribute, I tried to annoy people the other day but it wasn't a good idea Recently I started to look for Tantra practices, and I had to PM 2 members here to get answers because no one commented on my post Then I found Reddit, and reddit forum about Tanta, Hinduism and Buddhism are full of people, for vajrayana I found a whole forum dedicated to it, just like this one But the qigong reddit is poor, very poor... And there is no other place like The Dao Bums So the best place for qigong/daoist related topics is still The Dao Bums, but unfortunately for some reason we couldn't incorporate well other traditions, it would be nice to have more people here and everything in one place, but I have no idea how to make this happen, buddhism is quite relevant here too but as I said, in COMPARISON to other places this is not the best unfortunately Oh well I coundn't use all of the emojis Anyways, I feel sad to have to use other forums for other traditions related questions. If I'm wrong please correct me

@Nungali Oh ok ok I get your point When I say "weed has nothing to do with spirituality, that's just twisted, people use spirituality as an excuse to smoke weed" I was thinking about these new age western teenagers who smoke weed and call themselves "spiritualized". The sadhu stuff I really didn't know about but that is other thing and you are right on this point, I really didn't know their relation to weed and spirituality so my mistake there. I still keep my claim that smoking weed is not a way to reach enlightenment, but yes weed has something to do with spirituality in this specific context you mentioned.

About Nathan, I never heard anything bad about him, but honestly I wouldn't choose him to be my teacher either, I prefer Rudi, I looket at both and Rudi seems to be what I would look for if I decided to learn it. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Anyways, we can't deny that Damo and Nathan show up on social media(Instagram, Youtube, etc..), they give some teachings for free and even if being seen online doesn't mean that they are the real deal, they at least are there, we know what they teach and what to expect after becoming his students and we can discuss and talk about them to see if there are better or different options for learning something similar. The problem with these guys(ancientmasters) is that they create a website, make absurd claims about what they can do and how they are the only ones who know the path, charge some very significant amount of money for it, make it like a secret order where everything is hidden and you only know what to expect after you PAY for it. So yes, it's weird that you make only 3 posts, one to criticize well-known teachers around here and one to promote a secret order no one knows about. And I'm not saying that ancientmasters don't teach anything useful, they can really be teaching something and be a system for you to develop in the internal arts, but I think that what they teach you can find online for free or way cheaper with other masters, there are other systems online where you know they can get you far enough, without all of this secrecy. But I also need to accept that there is the possibility of you really being one of his stundents and don't like the other masters and decided to post everything at the same time after years of creating your account. I can't prove that you're wrong, I'm just saying that it was very suspicious. AND I think it's funny to mention that if I had the money to spare I would definitely pay for it just to see where it goes and to see if these guys know what they are talking about, because even if I come here and criticize I can't deny the possibility of these guys really having some kind of knowledge, I don't believe that they are the only ones who know the path but I would find it interesting to join just to get their point in all of this, I admit that it's hard to criticize something, anything, without "experimenting" it first. Where I live it's over 5 times the original price hahaha so I probably will never try it, but I will be here to see if Durian Tree decides to try it.

But the Qigong is great and Master Lin is the real deal, so even if it became a "selling machine" the method is good and I think that is what matters, the only bad part about this approach is that now they look like those Qigong scams and some people are afraid of trying it.

Demons isn't the right word here. Fight isn't the right word either. In chod, the practitioner goes to a place that creates the feeling of fear and then upon starting the practice the spirits(not demons) will come to him. Why do they come to him? Because this is the goal of the practice, so with the right method the practitioner calls them and they come. To fight? No, the practitioner just offers his body to these spirits in a direct way to overcome fear(ego) and to reach enlightnment. The more fear you feel from these sentient beings, the more ego you have, so by overcoming it and offering your body as an act of compassion, you will be using a direct method to dissolve your ego. No one fights, it's 100% an act of compassion. Yes you're right, this is one of the most advanced tantra practices and can only be done after receiving initiation from a qualified guru. Don't worry, you didn't offend me at all, I asked because I was just curious to understand why you were using these terms to refer to buddhist practices Buddhism is very clear in it's goal "May all beings be free from suffering and the root of suffering", so anything outside of this is not buddhism anymore, they can call themselves buddhists but if they are doing "dark" practices which feeds their ego with the intention to destroy someone, then logically it's not buddhism anymore because it goes against buddhist principles. But I'm not sure if "chthonic rites" is the right term for it. English is not my native language so myabe I'm getting lost in translation here, but I searched for it and it says that these "chthonic rites" often requires sacrifices and such things so it's wrong there are no sacrifices. But as I said, maybe you mean something else and I didn't get the right translation hahaha

why do you say that these monks are doing "dark practices"? There is no such thing as "darker tibetan buddhist rituals". They don't use magick either. Vajrayana is Tantric Buddhism, they worshipp their deities and these have some benefits for their lives(material and spiritual benefits), I wouldn't call it magick,but I understand your point if you meant it in that way. Even Chod practices which may seem "darker" at first, have the goal to destroy the ego and reach enlightnment. Everything they do is to benefit all sentient beings. They are doing no harm or working with "negative energy".

I do believe in wei qi but I believe in it in a different way, to me wei qi is something you build over time with disciplined qigong practice, not something you switch a button and expand your wei qi for this or that situation. Can you be more specific on how to use kundalini for attack and defence? I understand kundalini as an energy coiled in the base of our spine and at the certain time after certain practices it ascends to the top of the head and that's it,I never heard of ways to use it for such purposes. I don't believe in none of this, nothing they do works, and if it "works", they are just doing harm to themselves and wasting their time. Run from him.. He went crazy, just like many others who follows this path. I don't believe in none of this. Black magic and these "necromancers", it just don't work. BUT these are my views and my beliefs, just giving my opinion

I like Damo's BOOKS. In the theory part he seems to be everything you need to get started, but I also don't like his vibe so I follow other practices. But yes, if you need the theory behind qigong and what to expect he can be a good source.
