  1. hello friends, i am niko

hello! on the way through the internet i repeatedly stumbled upon this website so i find it a good idea to register and say hello. my name is niko and i am from austria. i have spent some years in china for practicing baguazhang in beijing and different qi gong in wudangshan as well as tuina massage for some monthes in shanghai in a clinic. i am looking forward to talk and read about the different topics here and wish u all a nice day!
  2. hello friends. if you are planning to go to wudang in china and are looking for a martial art school to join, you can have a look at my map i made when i was there from 2010 - end of 2015. one of my hobbies was to find different schools and make a map of the mountain with links to different schools, also showing their lineage/pai. the pai is important to know because their systems are different. there is sanfeng pai, xuanwu pai, songxi pai, chunyang pai and longmen pai and maybe more... also, if you have any kind of question, just write and ask, i like to talk about wudang. here is the link to the map: http://www.innersecrets.at/wudang_kungfu_map.1.html#wudang-kungfu-map
  3. I am interested in BaGuaZhang

i agree with steve, frantzis is amazing, even he talkes a lot sometimes, i am a few lessons into the taiji mastery program at the moment, but only because i already have experience with taiji.... baguazhang is a VERY(!!!) difficult art if you want to do it correct. means, proper cirlce walking.... and this is only possible with a teacher who can watch you and fix thjings which u cannot see by yourself. (i was doing only circle walking with my master for 9 monthes before he showed me anything else.) i came to wudang in 2010 looking for baguazhang and got dissapointed. i was looking for monthes and learned sometimes only performes sets. there are good wudang masters/lineages but sadly also a lot of performance people in and from wudang. i can recommend some of the schools in wudang or you can also have a look by yourself on my schools map i made at that time when i was there (2010 - 2014). http://www.innersecrets.at/wudang_kungfu_map.1.html#wudang-kungfu-map from my point of view i would look for masters from xuanwu pai, longmen pai, songxi pai or chunynag pai as their system is more complete
  4. hello friends, i am niko

seatle185! hello, i studied (and still meet) intensively with master kong cheng, disciple of liu jingru in cheng style baguazhang. yeah the tuina massage was great in shanghai, i still miss the city, hope to be able to go there again in the future. the treatment there was very different than here in the west, much more rough and they seemed to push very hard where it is painful on the client. but also much more internal, more about soft power which goes into the muscles and tissues. a bit like taijiquan. which i liked :)!
