  1. I practice KunLun

I agree with your arguments. To clear things up: people here contacted Max's two main teachers, and they basically said, "yes we taught/shared with Max". You will find that if you search all-things-Kunlun on this forum. So the question of lineage is answered, you just have to look. Essentially, Max took the Maoshan stuff he learned, and mixed it mainly with the Kunlun practice. There are other practices from other traditions, too...but that's the main stuff. So it's a new lineage that Max has created, which is based off of old lineages. About whether to verify it's effectiveness...what pretty much everyone here has done is gone to the seminars and tried it out for themselves. That's where the practice journals all come from. Honest people exploring new territory and sharing. No one involved in any Kunlun organization or whatever has made a journal in an attempt to make it look good. A Kunlun practice has already been shared here: the red sun practice. However, I don't think that's a good way to measure the system. Pretty much a seminar is the way to go for someone who is actually interested. Anyway, this system isn't for everyone. It's all good.
  2. Facebook as a spiritual tool

I'm personally moving away from facebook (deleted everything from my profile), because I see it as a total waste of time. Not just for me, but for my friends...and especially the people that stalk me! I am kind of thinking that it'd be much better if people were to come back to real life with real interaction. No one should have the ability to read my innermost thoughts and see my personal pictures anytime they want. It's nice to connect with old friends...but it's much nicer to move on, and not have to deal with censoring parts of yourself so that everyone will be happy. It's good to be free of that. As the Dalai Lama said, "Old friends go, new friends come." And as my boss said, "The internet is ruining our lives." But a cool perspective nonetheless.
  3. Which of These Words Appeals to You the Most?

I guess wizard appeals to me the most. Because: I don't like to study. Shrines are overrated. Great is not that interesting of a word. And about is the least interesting.

  5. ~me~

    I agree, your name rocks.
  6. It's hard to say what is exactly the best way to do it. I used to think that the main purpose was the spontaneous motion...but I'm not so sure anymore. I think the best way to do the posture is to try different things with it and see what works for you at the time. Another purpose of the posture is to mix the heaven and earth energies, as well as balance the five elements in the central channel by using the hands. The spontaneous motion just rebalances you during this process...so I think it's only one aspect of it. I like to do spontaneous qigong as a separate practice because I don't seem to be balanced enough by having it happen during K1. Without the hand positioning, you won't get the central channel clearing effect as well as the alchemy. So perhaps if the movements have calmed down, take it up again. But when spontaneous movements are happening, then let go and allow yourself to be moved. Such a complex simple practice.

  10. Joint Popping

How do you guys actually know it's not gas? Here's an article from the libray of congress which says that a lot of the time, it is: http://www.loc.gov/rr/scitech/mysteries/joint.html
  11. Mirror Meditation

I tried this out one night. I got the disappearing thing going on...which was kind of fun! To make sure that it was just a visual trick, I put something exactly behind me, and if I saw it that meant my head actually diappeared. Well, obviously it doesn't actually disappear. But probably the most interesting thing is what it does to your psyche. Looking in a mirror it's obvious that your head should be there, but watching yourself vanish does something amazing subconsciously. So for that I think it's a very great exercise.

Harmonyum is a healing technique. Google-fu! Try it out and let us know how it goes!
  13. Care to share your views, Baguakid? Maybe write an article? I'm interested to see what you have to say.
  14. En*light*enment

Well like you said...you have very high standards for what qualifies for your students. And you've said before that you tend to get close to 100% positive results. So why couldn't a comittee monitor that? An idea would be to make the practitioners give surveys to the clients and those surveys would be sent into the committee. If someone was getting mediocre results or some bad reports, then they would have to be re tested or something. It could work. I don't know...I'm sure you know more since you actually were involved with the NQA. I'll take your word for it! Just some ideas.
  15. En*light*enment

There should be a results based certification. The NQA is just based on how many hours you put into training and teaching...but that has no meaning on whether you can actually heal someone or not.
  16. What is wrong with the new age movement?

The problem I have with it, is that the people imagine too many things in an attempt to find the truth.
  17. The article was okay. I don't see what's so hard to understand about relaxing while doing work. Does it really not make sense to people when a teacher says to relax? Of course it doesn't mean completely let your body go limp, but rather to do the activity in the most efficient manner...no unnecessary tension. Another idea about standing as if ready to act...it helps to stand in such a way that you're ready to move in the 8 directions equally. Does that make sense? Like having the weight moving through the foot in such a way that you can just as easily step forward as well as backward. Just as easily step to the right as forward. Etc.
