  1. Looking for a Practice

grateful for all the responses. I currently meditate on my breathing once or twice a day. I also sit with plant medicines whenever I am given the opportunity. I am currently reading Hua-Ching Ni's work to further develop my practice.
  2. Plants and Shamanism

And yes, guidance is very important. That is one of the crucial differences between recreational use and spiritual use of these plants. My experiences with a traditional healer were so much more meaningful than my experiences alone. That being said, it is important to know that the plants and your mind are the keepers of true knowledge, not the shaman or healer.
  3. Plants and Shamanism

I've used psychoactive mushrooms and yagé (a substance very similar to ayahuasca). My experiences have ranged from the deeply introspective to the more spiritual. At the end of the day when you go deep enough, the introspective will become the spiritual. My experiences were difficult by I learned a lot about myself and the universe. The experience of death and rebirth during a yagé ceremony was particularly meaningful.
  4. Hello Internet

Looks beautiful, but I don't have access to a DVD player.
  5. Plants and Shamanism

I'm sure it has been asked before, but what do you all think about the role of psychoactive plants in spiritual achievement? In general, I find total dismissal of the potential benefits of these plants to be quite reductive: I have seen and felt their healing potential first hand. In addition, many spiritually awakened cultures have used these plants for millennia. Also consider the role of entheogens in the development of the Dharmic faiths.
  6. Looking for a Practice

I'm looking for some sort of practice. Any recommendations for a beginner?
  7. Hua Ching Ni

I just purchased Hua-Ching Ni's Workbook for Spiritual Development of All People. What do you guys think of this book and this teacher?
  8. Hello Internet

Can you explain what Chi Kung is? Thank you so much for the offer.
  9. Hello Internet

I am a college student studying Biology. In October of 2015, I had a series of psilocybin-induced epiphanies about myself and my place in the universe. I was quite depressed for some time after said epiphanies. Eventually, I began to regain confidence and explore the new perspective that the mushrooms had helped me discover. I traveled, experimented some more with the ritual use of psychoactive plants and eventually came to Taoism. Taoism helped me contextualize and understand all the thoughts I had been having. Now, I am looking to develop spiritually. I am at a point where I believe in and have a cursory understanding of Taoist philosophy, but I don't necessarily apply it to my every day life. I am building a practice.
