  1. What are you practising for?

    That is it!
  2. What are you practising for?

Note: I won't let my ambition to be bigger than that.
  3. I would like to propose a new sub-forum/discussion dedicated to native African religions or indigenous religions/belief systems in general. I'm sure that unlike me there are people who have immense knowledge on the subject and the desire to share that knowledge. What do you think?
  4. What are you practising for?

To find some balance and sanity in this crazy world we live in.
  5. After having learned that altough Nigerians are the most genetically propense population to develop Alzheimers disease and however don't get it much due to having a traditional diet very rich in fiber my curiosity increased regarding African diets. Don't watch this if you're fasting...or trying to.
  6. Don't worry be happy?

Question for @Bindi How do you deal with powerful cathartic dreams? The kind that can shock you deeply as you find yourself for example expressing agression or sexuality without any boundaries, that is doing things that your conscious self would never aprove. I do understand that the reason why they happen is repressed energy, even so in my case it was something I couldn't deal with.
  7. Meanwhile I've checked about injera. Definately something interesting to try to reproduce in my lab.
  8. Don't worry be happy?

Some without a doubt are. Others are dreams with deep meaning that over the years keep unfolding new revelations and understanding.
  9. Don't worry be happy?

No big problem having a Freudian slip. Big Motörhead fan myself.
  10. Don't worry be happy?

Lovely post. Thank you for the clarity of it and sharing your experience. You should stop listening to metal if it stresses you.
  11. Tell me about that, in the place where I work most of my colleagues are from Kerala and Nigeria. That staffroom at lunchtime... Start cooking, mate. Learn from the best. These days I rarely go to restaurants and pretty much cook 80% of what I eat. Food wise, it's all poison out there.
  12. Forty-five years after the publication of The Way of the Shaman, I'm feeling compelled to revisit Michael Harner's work.

Hi Steve, Sorry to interfere with your conversation with Bindi but I feel like comenting on what you have written with an example of a dream. I remember buying my first DDJ in my 20's in a time of my life of great confusion. After giving it some 5 minutes of attention I simply quit and put it on a shelf untouched for the next 2 years. The thing was too obscure for me I was expecting clear instructions about a healthy Chinese way of living. By that time don't know if before or after buying the book I had a dream where I was riding a blue ox that was taking me to "soul-land". The dream left a strong impression on me altough I couldn't grasp its meaning. Two years after having bought the DDJ I finally gave it the attention it needs and found it an amazing book of wisdom. Still, it must have taken me some 5 more years before understanding the symbology in that dream. Just my experience... Don't think that Bindi is defending that all dreams are untouched by our conditioning but a few in fact seem to be.
  14. What made me seriously think about it was once listening to this englishman born and bread in England but with a Russian mother speaking of his experience while visiting Russia. He never felt identified with English culture but while in Russia altough sometimes feeling literally smashed by the cold he felt simultaneouslly extremelly happy to be amongst his people, those who really understood him 🙂
  15. Genetically I should be 1/3 Norwegian. These videos just make me wish to visit Norway. So curious about what I would feel like there.
  16. Don't worry be happy?

We do have dreams bigger than our egoic thought bubble, again if you start paying more attention to them you will find that for yourself. What you would find out as well and for example is that a big percentage of our dreams are premonitory. That goes way beyond our hopes and fears. As I'm not selling any dream programs for self- inprovement this will end my comments on this thread. Best of luck to you.
  17. Don't worry be happy?

My comment was about your comment about dreams not about absolute truth. Dreams are a good tool for self-development because they mirror a deeper truth than the bs we tell ourselves. Regarding absolute truth I just don't believe in that anymore or concern about it. It is my experience that what we believe to be true rooted in deep material or spiritual experience can vanish in a moment. Truth doesn't settle anywhere, ever.
  18. Don't worry be happy?

Many are, many aren't. If you start a dream journal you will realize that. You can deny your true feelings to yourself and your unconscious will show you otherwise, just like you can deny your attraction or aversion towards someone and your body will show you otherwise.
  19. Glad to now know about the Babaylan. Thanks for sharing your experience and the video.
  20. Welcome

God wills, Man dreams, The Work is born. (Fernando Pessoa) That's pretty much what I feel about this one. Gamaliel comes to mind as well. Anyway, thank you moderation team for the sub-forum.
  21. Going to be real busy in the next 24 hrs but I promise to give more attention and comment on your post later.
  22. Very interesting stuff. Didn't know about the Sami. Thanks @Haribol
  23. Surely the cause must have been what was inside the barrel...
  24. I like the world PRIMAL Primal Wisdom, Primal knowledge, religion, beliefs... There you go 🙂
  25. What are you listening to?

Always found this song amazing, specially SRV's version. However, Also love the way Orianthi doesn't dare to evoke the "Lords name in vain" Conclusion Ol' me must be some sort of "all inclusive" daoist. 1m48s
