  1. Hi everyone

I have problem with my breathing practice, i just cant stop controlling my breath and the thought that if i am controlling the breath that  i am waisting my time. I can't feel my breath at times too, i know i am breathing but the breath is so subtle that i can't feel it. The whole process of controlling my breath and the thoughts are so distracting that i feel lost in this practice.

I have 2 questions if some of you could answer or give advice please.

    1. What is the worst that could happen if i control my breath during my meditation practice? I know nothing bad will happen but will i be successful in my meditation practice??

    2. Should i maybe do a lower Dantien meditation that you can control the breath??

    Thanks

Very interesting. I don't mean to be rude, but would you be willing to ask her if I could remotely do an energy body scan on her?  See what I find at that mental translation space?

    Thanks,

    Jeff

    Hi Jeff

Could you please scan my energy body to see why i can't see with my third eye. My imagination is the same, i can think the red ball but don't see it.

    Thanks

  3. From the perspective on being in time and space, it would be like past and future lives. But it is really more like fractured components of a broader whole. Could say like pieces of a soul/spirit. Beyond time and space, it is really all just concurrent aspects.

Karma is like classical physics. A body in motion, stays in motion. Unresolved issues and fears keep the motion going and it crosses those lives/aspects.

    THANKS!!!

  4. Not sure there is a local approach, but here is my view...

Karma is stored issues, fears and obstructions and tends to drive autopilot like responses to things. That autopilot response system is like the classical physics of motion...A body in motion, stays in motion.  That motion can carry across what you might call "lives".

Emptiness is not the same as what many call the void.  Emptiness is more like the Void with motion of that void. That motion/movement could also be called "infinite potential".

    Hi Jeff

What i found very interesting was the sentence: That motion can carry across what you might call "lives".

What is lives in your opinion or what did you mean by what you call lives, like lives are something else??

    Thanks

  5. what exactly do you mean by

    ?

and i personally dont like music because of its lyrics and rhythm that play ramdomly in your head at later times after listening to the song, id rather keep my mind quiet on the inside,

one specific type of sound that got me into meditation is, "psytrnace" music. i would recommend it, just youtube search it

Thank you Songtsan, will look it up.

Mindtooloud, i see what you mean but not the lyrics but the rhythm that takes me deeper in my mind and it still's and quiet my mind like nothing else...I hate it when a song sticks like you say, just horrible but i just listen to a other song and it takes it's place.

    Thank you too

  6. Hi there

I love listen to music and i feel like i can feel music in my soul. When listening to music i feel i go deeper in my mind and that i relax and forget all my problems.

I am looking for a meditation like sound therapy or a practice can do with sound?

Not really looking for a mantra meditation unless it's not unbalancing or un grounding, thank you

  7. There are many paths. My own path was rather impulsive and unconscious. I started in middle school with an understanding that I wanted to be somewhere different and better than where I was. Over the years, I looked into philosophy, religion, more in-depth science and a lot more mathematics. After a while, different patterns in behaviors settled in. I spent a lot more time in technical fields in philosophy and mathematics because they seemed like they had the structural capabilities required in order to break through potentially flawed ways of looking at things.

To an extant, that is true. I have been able to use mathematics and formal systems in a rather brute-force style to work through different things that were problematic---both mentally and in real life.

However, the more time I spend at work with thoughts and ways of thinking about things, the more I find that the process of thought introduces error into thought. Instead proceeding in a well-established manner that coherently and consistently references a rule-set and proceeds from there, there is a tendency for the nuances to become distorted and for things to deviate a bit from the principles that they were drafted from.

At least, that is what my posting here has taught me. Pretty much everything I write is stream-of-consciousness. One of the things that I think binds different "Paths" and traditions together is not so much a goal or set of realizations but the fact that actually transforming the qualities of the situation that you are in right now requires an actionable (even if it is in some sense action-less) core.

Reconciling systems comparatively, with the idea of advaita, or with the idea of a shared goal doesn't really matter. The commonality of paths lies in the immediacy of their lived implications.

So, for me, this seems to be the "path". I spend a lot of time posting about things unrelated to it, though. Day-in and day-out there are intense shifts and it is the relatively stable things that I can toy around with in the realm of thought that appear here. On rare occasion, I'll post a personal experience if 1) I think I need help or some type of criticism or 2) it feels like it was an intense and genuine situation that others might benefit from hearing about.

And, with regards to the second point, I've noticed that when I get back to daily events, I am less able to relate to the heights of experiences that I have had in the past---so it's a matter of having a personal snap-shot of the state of mind and the quality of energy. (Although I only really have 2 or 3 posts of this nature).

    Thank you for your reply

I think i know what your saying and you have gave me some idea were to start here. I have allot of reading to do and to go from there. I am not choosing a path just yet and going to see were it takes me from here on the site.

I will try to stay in the moment and what i think you are saying is the quality of the moment is what is important and that is something i hope to improve on.
