  1. As far as I am aware there are 2 "Emerald Tablets of Thoth", there is the original archaic tablet/script that is only a few sentences long. Then there is a book/online PDF file named The Emerald Tablets of Thoth by "Doreal", which contains some supposed "channeled" knowledge from Thoth himself. The first is definitely authentic and has some information that mirrors the beliefs of many other spiritual paths including Taoism, speaking of dualistic opposites, and microcosm/macrocosm etc... The second one seems a little far fetched to me, and while it may provide some useful information or techniques, I doubt it is what the author claims it to be.
  2. Is september 2015 the end ?

I personally believe we have the technology to completely obliterate any asteroid or comet that would threaten us, just because we aren't told that something exists, doesn't mean it doesn't. The system thrives off of peoples fear and an uncertainty, so it wouldn't serve them any benefit to let us know anyway.
  3. Thanks guys, yes I reuse the tea "buds" up to 4 times in my clear teapot/infuser, so there is probably very little caffeine after the 1st infusion... I may anyway do what some of the Chinese do and quickly bath the tea in warm water for 30 seconds before the first infusion, as this apparently get's rid of up to 80% of the caffeine. But yes Aetherous I do have to use the toilet a lot more than usual when I am drinking tea, partly because of the large amount of liquid... probably about 800ml to a litre every hour for 4-5 hours... maybe I should use less water and drink smaller cups instead of large mugs? Thanks for the info!
  4. Haha thanks for the response, no side effects or negativeness yet from the tea, I am not very easily affected by caffeine either, even 5-10 cups of coffee won't do anything other than make me feel a bit more clear minded and energised. I'm more wondering about long term depletion/dependency I guess, as it took me over 9 years of smoking daily cannabis before I really started noticing it's negative effects when it comes to productivity/work ethic. Thanks!
  5. Hi there guys Just seeing if anyone could give me some hints about ways I might be able to sort this issue I've had for a few years out (seems more pronounced in the last 6 months, probably just because I am more intune with my body and areas of tension/relaxation etc...) I'm a guitarist of 11 years or so, as well as doing a lot of game design/film making stuff, as well as playing computer games (mainly mouse + keyboard) quite a bit (not as much as when I was a child haha). I also cycle quite reguarly. All in all I am probably using my hands and wrists for about 3/4 - 4/5 of my waking time. My only problem is that my right hand seems to almost always suffer a lack of circulation and a coldness compared to my left hand, this is relieved by being in a very warm room, and after "warming" up for quite some time on my instrument or whatever, but sometime it never really "warms up" and I just get stiffness. The elbow tension seems to be related to this also, it's just a slight tightness/achy feeling right in the centre of the elbow, slight "burning" sensation sometimes also... It's nothing too severe, but I know that it could lead to more serious conditions that might affect my activities/performance quality etc... I'm thinking this could be related to some sort of energy blockage? Perhaps some accupressure + massage + stretches could help me out, along with a diet more inclined to "warming" or circulation enhancing foods? I am going along this path anyway but would like to see if anyone has any more specific knowledge about this sort of condition. Thanks very much, take care!
  6. Thanks guys, great advice from both of you. Today is probably the least my right elbow has felt sore or inflammed in quite a few weeks, so I am so grateful for everyones input! Thank you, take care!
  7. Future modeling!

I can't say I know much about the "Law of Attraction" but I was more under the impression that it is more based on your own personal life and immediate surroundings/situation/physiology, rather than controlling large and distant events (like the collapsing of the Soviet Union). Perhaps LOA also deals with this range of scope, or perhaps the scope is of no consequence... like Yoda said... Luke Skywalker: I can't. It’s too big. Yoda: Size matters not. Look at me. Judge me by my size, do you?
  8. Stabilizing full-body breathing

Arya, in my honest opinion I think you need to get a hold of your sexual emotions, you are obviously eye-ing up everyone you can by the sounds of it, which will be increasing your amount of semen rather than utilising that energy for more productive or creative endeavors... Also considering you are 22 years old and seem to have been basically having sexual thoughts/energetic exchange with a 13 or 14 year old is a bit concerning. IMO you should keep on the no ejaculating, make sure you are not watching porn or becoming sexually stimulated, and hopefully your energy should flow into more beneficial areas and you will not be so twitchy/revved up.
  9. Thanks, you may be right, although I think I may have given myself slight kidney+liver yang deficiencies through years of quite excessive daily cannabis use and beer/ale consumption. Which I have now gotten under wraps and only indulge very occasionally rather than multiple times daily. I've started doing more stretches and the like, I think my elbow pain/inflammation is "golfer's elbow" from too much computer use + guitar, cycling while standing (putting pressure on flexed wrists) etc... Eating more "warming" foods has definitely helped my circulation though which I think will aid in any recovery and prevention of re-occurrence/progressing into a worsened state. Thanks for the help guys
  10. Future modeling!

Interesting theory, it does sound quite similar to the "Laws of Attraction" but with some differences.
  11. Real taoist semen retention practices

I'd follow some of Mantak Chia's practises, but avoid anything that involves physically "forcing" or "blocking" as that is still ejaculating but it is just being stopped on it's journey out of the body, which is not good. Stuff like cold draw and big draw are probably good places to start, there is a large Mantak Chia PDF file compilation floating about for download on the internet which has quite a few books discussing these practises and techniques/exercises.
  12. Thanks so much for your comments guys, a lot of useful advice! I've already started using more "warming" type foods and spices and it seems to be helping quite a lot actually, especially when the foods/spices are anti-inflamatory in nature too (like ginger and cloves, cinnamon etc...). Yes I think i should definitely get back into working out, I used to go to the gym 3 days a week so I might start doing that again if only for 25-30minutes a time. Also yes it is unfortunate that I do have to use a mouse a lot, because I do all my music recording at my computer as well, it means I am pretty much using a mouse for upto 8-10 hours a day. I will probably look into getting a specially designed ergonomic mouse for any non-video gaming needs. Thanks SOTG, my shoulders and upper bach areas are pretty decent at the moment, but I will definitely keep track of any tension in that area to stop anything from developing. Diet is good, mostly healthy fats followed by protein then minimal carbs, looking at almost eliminating carbs in the near future though so that might help more as well (definitely improved my productivity and energy levels.) I have sort of accidently been eating more "cooling" foods such as raw salads as it is growing quite abundently in my mums garden at the moment, I think I will have to balance it out by adding more black pepper and other warming spices. Thanks very much again! This site is full of great insights and information.

Yeah after reading your guys accounts, and the TCM and Ayurvedic understandings of cannabis' effects on the body/energy system it all makes a lot of sense. it gives you the relaxation and creativity to come up with good ideas (I've come up with so many creative projects and details in the past years it's unreal), but you lose the ability to really follow through with your plans in a physical and actualised way, since drastically cutting down (have been smoking at least 1.5 - 2g of really nice bud everyday in the past, too about 1g a week, once or twice a week.) I am finally getting my projects moving forward and gaining productive momentum. Which I assume is from regaining my Jing. And also reading the symptoms of Kidney Yang deficiency, it definitely corresponds with some of my minor problems, so I am looking at sorting that out through herbs/foods as well. I think that cannabis can be used in a healthy and productive way, but after coming through a long term heavy usage of it, I (and/or others) need to re balance my system and use it more sparingly, so that it does not put your energetic systems out of whack, or deplete too much from a certain area. Thanks for starting this thread futuredaze, as it has literally brought me so much insight into the effects of this plant on the energetic body/systems. One of the most useful threads and forums I've ever encountered, I'm so glad to have found out about this site also!
  14. Hi yes I think that might be the case along with possible Liver yang deficiency. Being a (metal) sheep/ram this seems to be quite common, as well as having a weak stomach. Cannabis and good beer seem to help during the short-term, but I think in the long term they perhaps excuberate the condition. I've recently cut down drastically on both which I think is partly why I am noticing the tension more now. I'll looking into sorting out my kidney/liver yang deficiency (something which it seems cannabis can cause). @Karl Thanks for the comment, I'm fairly sure it's not such a serious condition, as it would not hinder me if not for the guitar playing, heated gloves would certainly be useful if neccessary. But ideally I hope to sort it out naturally which I'm sure can be done with the right combination of diet and exercise/massage/stretches etc... (many guitarists in their 40s, 50s, and 60s are now using heatpads on their arms/wrists as a result of either a similar condition to what we are experiencing, or also tendonitis/joint injuries from incorrect/bad technique). Thanks for the help guys, will update this thread every now and then after I have tried some combination therapies.
  15. talk about Reishi

No experience with the mushroom as of yet, but am planning to purchase some Reishi powder in the coming week or so, will add my thoughts/experiences in the future. This article speaks very highly of Reishi (and combining it with Ginseng) as a general invigorating tonic and to promote spiritual development and energy flow. http://www.bodhitree.com/lectures/teeguarden.html
  16. Taoist Tonic Herbs

Great information in this thread, thanks for the insights and articles.

Interesting article, I went on to read part 2 and some other similar articles which I will add here for anyones benefit. I have in the past 2 weeks or so been smoking only about 3 days a week rather than 7 days a week, as well as cutting down my beer consumption drastically. Definitely am more productive and able to get focused easier. Not tried using the counter-acting herbs/plants yet but will be making some purchases in the next week or so. "Marijuana, Apaphy and Chinese Medicine" Parts 1 + 2 http://www.acupuncturetoday.com/mpacms/at/article.php?id=33026 http://www.acupuncturetoday.com/mpacms/at/article.php?id=33038 "Recreational Cannabis use and TCM" http://www.acupuncturetoday.com/mpacms/at/article.php?id=33013 "Ayurvedic View of Marijuana" http://www.somamatha.org/ayurvedic-view-of-marijuana.html Some realy interesting stuff scattered through those articles, lot's of stuff that corroborates my own experiences. Great plant, but too easy to become unbalanced and produce more negative effects than it's worth. Definitely something you should work with to find perfect harmony rather than just smoking up at will just because you enjoy it.
  18. That's really interesting as a friend of mine told me about 6 months ago about a wierd experience that him and his friends had when they were about 11 years old or so. Apparently they were doing some sort of "anti rain dance" movements and intentions and the clouds started seperating in a circle above them and it stopped raining in their area. Sounds pretty similar to what your describing. He said they repeated it later that day aswell, cool stuff anyway, cheers! Sorry forgot to mention this was during a storm also.
  19. Fasting

I've always been a fan of fasting, instinctively I've been pretty much doing "intermittent fasting" for the last few years, eating 1 meal a day, usually separated by 18-24 hours or so. I find I have more focus and energy while on an empty stomach. Eating just sort of makes me sedated and just want to relax/content with not doing anything productive. Thinking of doing a proper 3 or 5 day water fast, early last month I did 100 hours with just water+beer at my mates festival, but the beer is a bit cheating because of the slight calories, minerals, vitamins, and trace carbohydrates.

Thanks for the info, will look into doing some "body parts" meditations. I guess it's using the intention to bring the energies back into the body rather than staying in your head? Also FutureDaze, I have been at points of 5-10 pints of hoppy IPA's everyday which is definitely excessive, I agree that a few a week shouldn't really have much/any effect on estrogen levels in the body. Many of the beers I drink are unfiltered+unpasteurised as well which means lots of beneficial micro organisms, minerals/vitamins, and good stuff from the hop resins etc.. The gruit beer styles seem interesting as well though, I've tried some "heather" ales that are based on old style recipes like that, but for me no drink tastes as good as a nicely hopped IPA haha. Was my birthday 2 days ago so indulged a bit, smoked up for the first time in a week, continuing the break now after that. Thanks for the tips guys, good luck with your practises. Cheers!

Hey guys, I'm a huge cannasiour and have been smoking near daily for the past 9 years or so. I love the tastes, smells, and effects of lovely high grade strain of weed, in the same way I am a huge fan of craft beer/ales (especially super hoppy IPA's, funnilly enough hops are the closest relative to cannabis also). The only thing is that I have been realising that it definitely makes me less productive and have less energy in general, I've been on a 5 day break from both beer and weed (which I've done a few times over the years), and I feel much more vibrant and productive, infact in the last 24 hours I started a new company and facebook page, and built 6 high-grade instrument cables to sell as a business, which I have been meaning to do for over a year but never got around to it. I would love to be able to keep smoking and drinking fine ales but this trade off of productivity is getting to me, and combined with the fact that I am getting heavily into the Taoist practises and excersises it seems like it will be holding back my progress in that regard too perhaps... I think I am going to continue on my break for a while (although it is my birthday tomorrow so I am going to allow myself a day of endulgment.) Then I might try some of these ideas people have posted from the Indian schools of thought, using other herbs and plants to counter the effects. Ginseng and Calumut seem to be the 2 ideal ones? Dark chocolate as well? (I have 100% organic caocao nibs at home so I will try using those before/after smoking aswell as the herbs/roots). Just a question, when people have mentioned that it causes you're energy to go upwards and out of the body, and needing to bring the energy down, what kind of activies or practises can achieve this? Something like the MCO or cold draw? Many thanks to anyone who is able to give me some hints, and thanks already to those who have posted with this very interesting information. Cheers, take care! EDIT: I am also thinking that drinking hoppy beers and smoking weed at the same time could be making the negative effects even more pronounced? Since they are both very closely related, and both have mild sedative/relaxant properties? Thanks again.
  22. Hey guys, hope you are all well. Just doing my obligatory welcome post before I can comment in other threads - great to see so many switched on and interesting people here, apart from the odd negative and obtrusive characters (which can hardly be avoided). A little info, I'm a 23 year old Male from Cambridge, UK. An avid Musician/Composer/Improviser, amateur film maker and game designer, and all round proponent of spirituality, natural living, "alternative" medicine/herbology, connoisseur of fine ales/craft beer and the old "can of bis" (although I'm contemplating having a long term break from both in order to further my spiritual practise etc...) Anyway, I'm looking forward to joining the community and learning more from this great resource and community. Thanks, take care!
  23. Hello, great site you guys have got here!

Thank you everyone, I've been reading threads on this site for a few months so it is nice to be able to contribute and ask questions now. Take care!
  24. What do acupuncturists say about donating blood?

Hi there, I'm no acupuncturist but have some experience with losing small but consistent amounts of blood. Last year I participated in a research study which was looking at metabolic rates and how genetics and environment can affect chances of obesity. During the study I was attached via a tube going into my forearm which would draw blood about 8 times a day for 3 days. A fairly large amount would be drawn, then the majority pumped back in with only a small bit being used for a sample/blood analysis. After the 3 days I wen't home and tried to jam (improvise musically) with a drummer and good friend of mine with whom I often have near "psychic" level connective-ness while playing music, where we are both "in the zone" (Wu Wei) and are not conscious of what we are doing but are coming out with interesting and unique stuff that is locked in with each other and following each others changes instantaneously etc... The thing was after losing the blood I felt like I could not enter this state, and my playing and musicality suffered greatly, to the extent that I was scared that I had lost much of my musical/intuitive/improvisational abilities... this lasted for a few days before gradually coming back. I attributed this to losing some of my life force/chi/spirit, and I am very wary of giving or losing any largish amounts of blood now in the future. Just my experience, I have heard that in TCM it is believed that losing blood can lead to loss of Chi or Jing (can't remember exactly). Seems to corroborate my experience. Thanks
