  3. Get to know the real Procurator

I remember meeting this kid one day,he couldn't have been more then ten years old.We were just talking about this and that then out of no were he says. "I hate Jews" I was taken back for a minute, then asked; "Why" Off he went on this mad tirade about how "they" try to control the world and everybody in it.Blah blah blah Now obviously somebody has taught him, because he is ten years old and he doesn't know his shit from his shoelaces. So I asked him. "How do you know so much about Jewish people?" He replied. "My dad told me." Thats the thing with hatered it can spread like cancer and infect anyone who is not immune to it.This post is a example. Only a fool underestimates its power Wisdom, understanding and the power to forgive have been and always will be the anitdote to hatered.

  5. Winning Browie Points

I have enjoyed reading what everyone has written. From my observations I have noticed that when my will or intentions are properly aligned with heavens if you like, all actions seem flawless. There is a natural flow, which requires little to no effort and conditions take on a power which is easy and full of joy. I know when I'am well aligned because there is less struggle. Children and animals draw close Waves in the ocean seek me out When I'am not aligned everything is a struggle and its seems that its always the wrong place at the wrong time. So perhaps that is the measure of true merit, how often is our will aligned with the will of heaven?

  7. Great post Wudang.Really enjoyed what you wrote.A fine example of what means to be truly human
  8. Cultivating the Way: Understanding Enough

I believe it is important to spend time away from others in wild places on your own. Because in doing so, we are confronted with the realisation of how fundamentally important our are relations to one another truly are. When the realisation of the importance of others in your life is fully understood, society distractions are seen for what they truly are. A blessing.

  11. How can we survive the coming disasters?

Tell me what is the one thing you need the most in this life? Then tell me it is not free.
  12. How can we survive the coming disasters?

Well these are the answers I have come up with. That which can be saved can also perish. That which cannot be transmutted by heaven and earth is beyond life and death. Sin is simply being dishonest in your heart. Intention first action follows As far as laziness goes-I do seem to being doing less and less
  13. Cultivating the Way: Understanding Enough

Well I have had the great fortune in my life to have been dirt poor and also to have had luxary. The following are some of the conculsions I've come to. A lack of or too many "things" has no bearing on ones degree of virtue, wisdom, compassion or ability to empathise. Poverty sucks as they say and its true from what I've seen.It leads to poor health, inferior education and it especially effects women who often bare the brunt of it. I have met unhappy homeless and unhappy millionaires, the cause of their unhappiness in either case stem from a lack of love in their lives, love of themselves and those around them. I have also met happy penniless wanders and happy well healed aristocrats. In both cases the reason they were happy was they were doing what was right for them,in other words they were following their hearts. Humility has nothing to do with how you cloth yourself or the pitch of your roof, humility is the intention in your heart. What good would it do if you were to give all you have away and live a "simple life" but still have a heart of venom. Its not a case of how thirfty we are or how hard we work, its what is in our heart that counts. If your heart is true nobody can educate you to be contrary to your true heart. There are burdens equal to being rich as their are to being poor when it comes to cultivation. Rather I believe the condition that is most conducive to fulfilling your mission, is the one best obtained.
  14. I understand. Cheers
  15. How can we survive the coming disasters?

What are the excrescent(abnormal?) things we have created? What nature have we lost? What aspect of self do you hope to save?
  16. The problem I see here and it particular amonst us westerns who feel somehow dissasociated from-"Nature" is we try and dictate the terms of how or what we believe nature to be or not to be.Case in point, you state "Nature takes things gradually." Well there is nothing gradual about a bush fire it is intense, fast and devastatingly destructive.Nor is there anything gradual about a tidal wave,or a hurricane,or how quickly the grass grows at this time of year. The issue with common sense is it is common.Anything or event that falls outside the parameters of the common becomes unacceptable. I bet there is not a single person on this forum your good self included that hasn't had an uncommon occurence. I agree with your premiss that we should take our ques from nature, but I believe we must always remain mindful of our unique personnel biasis when doing so.
  17. Meditating somewhere haunted

Well I live next door to a cemetery,in fact the dead are my next door neighbours. The grave yard (there really is nothing grave about the place)in fact is quite beautiful, with many wonderful stately and healthy trees. There are some wonderful old fashion roses growing next to some exquistely craved granite and marble head stones. It is intresting to note how our society has changed over the years by the quality of craftsmenship in the stone work and the size of the headstones, which have progressively gotton smaller overtime. The tone of messages on the stones also has changed overtime. In the early settlement days often they would describe the means by which the individual died.I.E Fell from horse, drowning, died in child birth, etc. As time passes the head stone reveal less information and become more generic, I.E At Rest in the hands of God,Beloved of mother of such and such etc. At present the head stones are a quarter of the size they were fifty years ago and a one eighth the size they were a hundred years ago. Also the graves are now laid out in close together and in a linear pattern, were as in the past they had an exquist randomness. Up to the 1970 all the graves faced east now most of the graves face west,I believe this more for convience then for belief. The only one who haunts the cemetery is a kindly soul who has taken it upon themself to clean the moss from the headstones. The only thing which has struck me while meditating in the cemetery is the arrogance we have to bury ourselfs in such a fashion. Truly what benifit is gleaned by locking a body in a box and burying it in the ground and sticking a large slab of rock on top to mark the occasion? Often people ask "Doesn't it bother you living next door to a cemetery". I can honestly answer they are the quietest neighbours I have ever had. Except for that one full moon night a few years back.........
  18. How can we survive the coming disasters?

You say that we are "sinful". What exactly is our sin and what are you saving ourself from?
  19. Why I study TAO

  20. Taoism of Western Imagination

The knowledge of destiny and the nourishing of destiny is indeed a largely overlooked and poorly understood facet of Daoism. Fulfilling ones destiny through the realisation of ones true nature is the HEART of the matter. How long it will take or the twists and turns of the path are storys that are told, nothing more.
  21. What would you have done?

I would thank my lucky stars. What a great opportunity for some fun.
  22. My kitten is not a kitten

Surely its the heart that matters. What good are lineages and practices if your heart is not true Intations and robes are nothing but window dressing,if your heart is not true. All the shaking and bakeing are only games if your heart is not true.
  23. Rob McIntyre Seminar - Australia

Hey Mal Don't know anything about Rob Mcintyre but would be intrested to hear what he has to say if you do attend. I certainly agree that enviromental toxins and suspect nutrition play a large roll in chronic disease.
  24. The Ming Men Thread

Indeed I agree that the movement of dao could be consider pulsation.Recently I read the gospel of Thomas whose name means(Twin). In one particular verse Thomas inquires of Jesus "How shall I explain our God to others.Jesus replied our God is repose and movement. Which I believe you were pointing to in your comparison to the breath.Indeed the the statement of breath of life is common amongst many spritual traditions as it is a clear sign post to the working of all phenomenom. Although I'Am not familiar with the Gate of Death,to hazzard a guess perhaps the flip side to the gate of life. Fire can both warm and infuse, scorch and destroy. The tale of The sudden and the abrupt, seems to be a common theme amongst many cultures particularly when transitioning from a hunter gatherer to argarian lifestlye. Its as though on some level the human pysche instinctively knew that that particular course went against the will of heaven. I would be intrested to read your museings on this.
  25. What are your delusions?

Every action, every thought, all beliefs, all reason, all insight, every treasure you can imagine must be silenced and then and only then can the true heart emerge. The medicine is made in silence, the nature is repose and movement, the instruction is in the breath. If the mind doesn't move where is delusion? If the mind does move where isn't delusion?
