  1. Didn't learn a whole lot from him, no specific techniques or anything like that. We spent maybe half an hour with him all up.

He spent one minute healing us... Told us that what he does is send a small amount of energy to you to open you up then he lets heaven do it's thing. As I said he talked a lot of heaven and Earth. I THINK that is how he explained it. Sternly he said that he could never project his full power at anyone too, I guess this is dangerous?

Said something like once you "open up" you become kind of like a conduit for energy. Also that the energy penetrates deep into your cells, every particle that you are and somehow tranforms you.

Showed us how to see "how much you got" by holding his palms facing each other at dantien level and what looked like repeatedly compressing. As he was demonstrating he was breathing in a specific way and seemed like there was much resistance between his hands.

I may be forgetting a few things that he told us as this was in May... But by far the most intriguing thing that he told us was that his master died 40 years ago... Yang only looks like he is 45, 50 at most. Strange.

Might remember more sooner or later but for now thats all that I can really recall...

    The breathing thing is interesting....

So are you going to follow up? Like become his student or smth?

  2. Yes we DID just join.. After being lurkers for so long we were really excited to finally have an experience to share here! We're not part of a franchise. I didn't even see this word on his website, though on further inspection, now I do. He said he never charges, that's just what he told us. Maybe that was just for the healing though? Perhaps seminars and retreats are different, I don't know...

I don't know about any money hoarding scheme but I can assure you that it was a genuine happening and we mean no harm... :)

    Just here to participate.

@JohnC -- We'd love to learn more too! Haha.

Ok! that sounds much better now. So you joined. So what did you learn? Any meditation techniques? Levels? Does he test your progress? Please share, I'm sure people here would love to know that.....

  3. Woa.

    Paranoid much?

I see no info on a franchise.

Sounds awesome to me... and I'd love to learn more about this.

    John

Look on this page it says franchise: http://masteryang.net/classesandtraining.html

You probably have to become his instructor first.

And yes I am paranoid - there are way too many liars around here. Why does he say that he doesn't charge money when he charges money. Just say the way it is don't lie about it.

  4.

Also said he never charged for his healing or teaching...

    Any more thoughts?

    =]

    Yeah I got some thoughts...

So let me get this straight - So you just joined the forum last week and the first thing that you want to do here is you want to share your random amazing experience from a new Qigong star on the market. And from your description it sounds like you are totally not involved in his business but you offer his website address right away because you just want to share your experience to the max. And you say he never charged for his teaching - yet on his website it says "FRANCHISE". That's actually an awesome idea! Let's franchise a Qigong business! Not even the grandpa Wang Liping did think of that. Mr Wang only charges a few thousands dollars for the seminar (of course they all go to the taoist monks 'cause they need a lot of money for their fancy square hats), however Mr Yang here, took it to a whole new level - he is going to charge you forever now, because it's a Franchise. So now, I guess, during the NFL plaoffs we are going to see Chi Negong Franchise next to McDonalds and Subway!

  5. Hi all,

I am attaching a pdf book about Chi, Tenaga Dalam etc14897428-CHI-or-TENAGA-DALAM-or-Inner-Energy-r-JINN-Related.pdf - I ran into it accidentally. It sounds like a Islamic propaganda, but it does make one ask some questions regarding all these systems. I was wondering if people heard of this guy or what impression does the book produce in a taoist practitioner. It's only 49 pages and very easy to read.

I am curious of peoples impressions from this type of info.

    Thank you,

    Orb

  6. What conclusion are you drawing from this, that meditation is a tool for healing?

Or are you trying to mask the fear that this meditation practice you are doing is in fact pointless and has no meaning, and you desperately look for reasons to make it worth while.

You meditated and your leg healed. Great. You have no way of knowing if it would heal faster if you meditated more, or slower if you meditated less. What are you trying to prove here?

Don't get me wrong. "Meditation is great"! But not when you expect it to be

And hey, if this doesn't resonate at all with you then that's cool, but I was in this mud a while ago myself.

    Good point.

I used to date a yoga girl who had small boobs, but she was convinced that she can make them grow bigger if she worked hard and meditated everyday on her boobs. And she meditated for about 2 years every day and her boobs stayed exactly the same, but she was telling everybody that they doubled in size and she even convinced herself about it and she started wearing very tight t-shirts and her boobs looked bigger, however I knew exactly their size because they fit in my hands exactly the same way...

  7. I think that's a mere dogma. Reality easily disproves this generalistic view. Analyzed in more detail, it becomes vague and unprovable as well as disprovable. How could you make a claim like that when all practical examples you can use as support for the claim would have to be taken from a system where a virtually infinite amount of factors are influencing each other all the time?

From this dogma, a kind of arrogance can develop, where someone who achieved something believes it to be his own doing, neglecting everything that influenced him towards that achievement.

I have no idea what you just said, but I have a feeling that it's deep.

  8.

After almost a couple decades of this pursuit I don't see these sensations as credibility of a practice. IMO it provides motivation to push along in pursuit where we may have normally lost interest, but really no different than taking drugs. The pushing on is what confronts the "self". Not giving up, not accepting our normal excuses is the mechanism which drives this. The result, like anything else we put our attention too, is growth. Now after so long I don't really see any mechanics of these fancy practices to provide anything more advantageous than any other "ordinary" activity. The same results can be found in washing the dishes if the same dedication and heartfelt passion was applied to that as an endeavor of growth. But of course there are no Master Dishwashers to lead us down that path of nonsense (thank goodness).

You sound pretty healthy, sir. What practice are following these days (if any) if you don't mind me asking?

  9. I'm coming to the realization that I am utterly incapable of being religious in the usual sense. My beliefs can be counted on one hand. I don't believe in Immortals, Buddhas, reincarnation, bodhisattvas, etc. I am not saying this as a criticism of the members of this forum who do. Is there anyone else on this forum who is somewhat like me? Someone who doesn't put much stock in beliefs, and who questions anything that doesn't make sense?

What do I believe, you might ask. Well, I believe in the Tao as a philosophical concept of how the universe works, and I believe in chi, but that is about it. I am completely agnostic about life after death. I sometimes question even enlightenment itself.

I think I should just sit and meditate, cultivate Te, and not worry too much about these metaphysical things. For the longest time, I tried to fit the round peg of my mind and soul into the different sized holes of the world's religions and it never worked out. It's just not me.

Does anyone else here feel that way?

    You sound pretty wise, amigo.

  10. Opposing and questioning the misrepresentation of Buddhism, are two different things. Vajraji was grossly distorting Buddhism. The reason I started this thread was to discuss the polysemic language in many texts.

Do you have something to add?

Nothing to add, no. In my opinion you are on the right track to think that the scriptures have a certain code though. And it's not necessarily because it was meant to be hidden, but merely because there was no direct way of explaining it and even make it available to future generations. So a lot of symbols and metaphors were used. And I thnik misinterpretation is our biggest obstacle in understanding a spritual practice.

  11. Found several links on this yesterday and so far only two books to my knowledge have been written. The first link is for a book by Roderick S. Bucknell who was studying Buddhism in SE Asia. The second, may be controversial.

Tantric and occult texts are written in a type of code so that only initiates are able to understand. Aleister Crowley admitted that his works were written in blinds.

    Any comments?

I am not trying to be rude but I got the feeling that you were opposing buddhism about a year ago...

  12. Informative, yes. Credible? I read couple of Sean Denty's posts on the topic here and elsewhere and while I have no clue about his credibility his posts don't click with me.

(just an opinion of mere beginner who got the feeling he must rely more on his gut feelings than anything else in this "cultivation world", and who doesn't follow Winn's nor Chia's system)

Here is btw. Michael Winn's response: http://forum.healingdao.com/general/message/10475/

LOL that was great. Great article, thx. I wish I read it long time ago, but it's still very good, also changed my impression of Michael Winn a bit (not of Mr Chia though...) I was starting to forget how much fun this forum can be.

  13. A friend told me I can get my answers here. Looking for some qigong styles with pranayama breathing yogic techniques. Which ones should I learn?

Mantak Chia has some breathing exercises and you get to jerk off at the same time and call it a spiritual practice.

But my question is this - why on the earth are looking for "pranayama yogic" techniques in Qigong?

If you want to learn pranayama you gotta find a pranayama teacher. Not a book, not a DVD but a Master. And guess what - the pranayama masters are in India, Nepal ....

So I can tell you this for sure: You are not going to find a pranayama Master on this forum.

  14. It seems you missed the topic.

bodyoflight's main theses were the following:

These are not about the question if you can chose to develop powers or not, they are about the inevitability of developing powers when accomplishing a spiritual achievement and therefore about the conclusion that powers can be used to measure the level of the achievement.

I don't think I missed any point. I am addressing this exact theory of "the inevitability of developing powers". I am pretty sure you don't develop anything unless you are part of those very few in a billion to learn the secret trick. That's why I am saying you guys are discussing something you are not part of and most probably will never be and therefore you will never develop Siddhis. It's like the fat football fans having endless discussions about whos the best player and how can the Giants win the next game.

  15. I had a tooth extraction today and have several stitches in my gum. The dental surgeon prescribed Clindamycin and insists that I should take it. After reading of the side effects, I am not certain I should take it. I only have been given antibiotics twice in my life and that was over 50 years ago.

    Any thoughts?

Don't complicate yourself - a double shot of whisky will fix your problems...

  16. Anything verdesi or his cult following has to say can safely be thrown into the garbage can, he is also level 4 and fused his yin and yang and can shoot thunderbolts out his arse.

    LMFAO

it's funny and sad at the same time ... I also heard that his nose used to be a lot shorter 10 years ago, but the more teaching he provides the longer that thing gets...
