  1. Got an interesting topic to share. Apparently my Grandmaster knows John Chang and his master. Seems like all the inner energy teachers in Indonesia knows each other. I also found out that the Master of our Grandmaster was over 400years old before he passed on to the next plane and the appointed successor or 'spirit guide' (as the term they use) is now guiding the Grandmaster which is now the third guide who has been instructing him from time to time. Seems like we could really live forever. :)

    Something to ponder about.

    Regards,

    SY

Did your grandmaster actually tell you that? Or is it one of those rumors started by a misunderstood remark that somebody made over a glass of cheap wine?

  2. Super ironic that you posted this at this time for me and I would love to join if I was in Australia but this is the silliest looking website I ever seen in my life and it sucks out all the seriousness

You said that you would love to join if you were in Australia.

Now I am just curious - why would you love to join?

What is so appealing about this advertisement? (without taking into consideration that the website is silly looking...)

  3. Almost none of that was from Qi gong and these are some of the famous kung fu 'tricks'

And they're singing and dancing for the show, that one guy even broke his nose for it

    aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh

well most of the so called qigong demos are "tricks" and "stunts" also - this is just the indian version with bad indian music... but nothing new really...

  4. Jesus... could you stop starting three new posts every freaking day. We all know you're here. Do you really need that much attention? I mean if they had any substance that would be fine, but you type a sentence, scream "look at me!Look at me!" Then start another once people stop paying attention to you.

The fact you are still around after posting pictures of naked dead women, insinuating you would beat to death a woman if she offended you, and so many other things, tells me someone is not paying attention here. you are sick, plain and simple, and you need serious psychological help before you do actually hurt someone.

    Aaron

    Good call sir!

  5. I believe that a big problem that appeared since the publishing of the book was something along the lines:

Here is an amazing valid system that many people would love to practice but they can't because the access has been denied (the reasons are irrelevant)

So I have a question with two kinda ramifications:

Since Kosta (and westerners in general) cannot be taught past level 3(or 2b), what form of Qigong/Neigung does he continue to practice?

Or is there any other school that he would recommend since Mopai is inaccessible to westerners?

Thank you Mr. Becker for doing this.

  6. I think that these conversations will always go in circles because they will never be proven. Anyone with a very high level of kung fu expertise is not going to go into an MMA ring where their options are severely limited. A true kung fu martial artist who has trained both the internal and external to the point where they are deadly is also going to respect themselves and what they have. They will be smart enough to not put themselves in a situation where they might get seriously injured.

Everything I have ever been told is, "Avoid a fight whenever you can. But if it comes down to it, you give it 110% until your opponent is in no position to threaten you ever again."

That does not mesh with the MMA mentality. Those guys are trying to make a career out of it. They are trying to become a "champion". Why would a person who has attained high martial and spiritual abilities throw it away for a couple thousand or tens of thousands of dollars? If you really value your life and your health, why would you ever compromise them?

Why would someone who has trained their hands to pulverize bone put on a pair of padded gloves? Why would someone who has trained to strike at the eyes and the throat put themselves in a situation where they are not allowed to do that?

The reality is that conflict is ugly. Fights are ugly. Both people get hurt and injured. Nobody really wins. The smart person avoids the situation. Only an idiot goes into a ring with something to prove.

I never understood this philosophy. So the guy is a master but he can't control his energy to the point that he could accidentaly kill the opponent. It just sounds like a cheap lie.

Since you are a "Master" and a "Hi level one" you should be able to control that energy.

Why can't u just hurt the opponent to the point where he gives up.

I would love to get hurt by a Hi level master. It's just nobody offers that.

Then they would also use the karma excuse ............ I mean any excuse just not to do a simple demo that can be filmed.

  7. This is just hearsay but I've heard from reliable sources how "tough guys" (often from rival martial arts schools) would challenge Master Waysun Liao of Oak Park, IL and have to be sent to the hospital in ambulances. Taiji is effective in the right hands. And as a matter of fact, Taiji has many things built into it, doesn't it? It's got take-down defenses (e.g. rooting, ability to shift weights instantaneously, emptying out different parts of one's body etc).

No doubt MMA guys have a lot of training (or should at least) doing "tough" things...but MMA at the end of the day is a sport and god forbid you get surrounded by 4-5 mean dudes on the street, take-down is probably the last thing you should be doing. Also, all these submission holds etc...if you put a triangle around someone's neck and shoulders, all they have to do is lift you up and smack your head down on asphalt...we'll see how well a submission hold like that will work in reality.

Now if I were to be in a fight, I'd want to do as much damage to the individual with the least amount of effort. It's funny how a few well directed strikes to the throat, eyes, plexus or groin can dissuade the best of the fighters from continuing their aggressive overtures.

    :)

After a great deal of deliberation over the years, I've come to realize this. A good fighter is a good fighter only if he/she has the "killer instinct". No amount of techniques, etc will help one in a fight unless they can bring themselves to harm someone else. To have technique is one thing, but if one cannot bring his/herself to commit to those techniques or adapt the techniques as needed, it'll be very pretty to look at but completely ineffective.

When I was younger, I used to learn Goju Ryu and our training used to be in an open arena with no protective gear, etc. We would spar full contact with only rules being no groin, eye and throat strikes. It was amazing to see how some of the students would have really good technique but were unable to reasonably cause much damage (even in the scope of just sparring) to their "opponent" while others would relish in causing nominal pain (with consequences from my sensei, who was a lady of 5'4" and a lawyer by profession) and there was no doubt that these guys would and could inflict a significant amount of damage if they chose to (one was a gangster and one was a bouncer).

Around the same time frame, one of my friends was a 3rd Degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and one day while sparring with him, I just closed the gap suddenly and blocked his kicking capability by entering his space. The look on his face was astonishing, in that he couldn't figure out how to do kick and since he did tae kwon do, he didn't really focus too much on hand strikes.

Moral of the story is, a good fighter needs to have killer instinct and also be able to adapt and respond to situations without having to think about it.

You know I actually liked ur theory about the "killing instinct", but then those nerdy videos just killed it. I really hope you don't try to use that against MMA.

  8. Yes, and I am one. Not that I do it myself, but there is a practice of medicinal urine drinking in Taoism.

But that doesn't interest me. What does is Michael Winn's writing about staying in Taoist caves in China. To be authentic he doesn't bring food or water even though he stays a couple of days. With no water he does as he believed the ancient (and not so ancient) Taoists cave dwellers did: he drinks his urine.

He wouldn't drink the first 3rd of it. Tasted warm and brothy he said. Fascinating story, It may still be on the healing tao usa site under articles.

Maybe the day will come when I'll try it. Don't know. I do know there are some medicines derived from urine so the Taoists aren't totally crazy (example.Pergonal). There are homeopathics who use highly diluted urine.

In a similar vein, I observe and sometimes eat my mucus. The color is an indication of whether my body is fighting a virus or bacterial disease. The darkness of the yellow or green is caused (I think) by dead virus cells. I kinda believe by ingesting inactivated cells my body might gain some immunity advantage. Also I kinda like the taste. :o

Hey most of is slipping down our throats anyway.

Do you know if Michael Winn still goes to these caves ?

  9. i just got back from a walk in the woods with the teacher who helps me with meditations and we talked about qi and the 3 dan tiens. this all comes from a thread about chakras and MCO that i couldn't find to link to but i didn't look very hard.

he said qi can't be reasoned about, it doesn't conform to left-brained ideas and its different for everyone. he said to think of it as life energy and don't try too hard to categorize it. but in regards to the three dan tiens, he said that its no good to give definitions of different kinds of qi but he could give examples. for the lower dan tien (LDT) he said this is the gross qi that people feel when they do energy work and want to cultivate in martial arts to do breaking and fa jing<sp>. it is grossest so it is closest to the physical plane.

the MDT is emotional qi which he said is what gurus have that makes them radiate emotional energy and give students the idea that they are in "a presence". he said thats just heart qi. he said heart qi can be dense like physical or subtle, and that part of spiritual practice is to refine the emotional qi until it is translucent and transparent. he said when you listen to music, feel are the emotions opaque or translucent.

he said that the UDT qi is most refined and that it is this qi that allowed primitive man to communicate telepathically, something aborigines can still do, speak with impressions and thoughtforms. he said the less you try to explain the better, but its the qi that transmits information. he said he like the tibetan bon system which calls LDT fire, MDT water, and UDT air. he said that system works well to describe the energies.

in bon, the root is earth and the crown is aether, akasha, emptiness, etc.

anyway, thats what he said, i told you folks i would post it here so i hope that helps some of you.

That does help a lot. Thanks for sharing.

  10. Ah ok, my apology to Orb then for derailing he's thread :|

Hmm... well, my personal goal is to learn more about real practical taichi.

What I am not interested in is empty forms that people practice for ever and imagine that they are perfecting their skill. I also don't like to learn from books or DVDs and I don't trust people that call themselves martial artists but never fight.

But some explanations coming from personal understanding that people have, as well as references/reviews to good teachers - are among the best contributions made to this forum IMO.

Also sometimes you can learn even from people that you don't agree with or you don't like...

So if you or anybody else can contribute in any way to the topic then I (and I'm sure other people) would be very grateful.

Thank you all for providing so much good info.

  11. Templetao i asked for your credentials but i doubt there are any. Maybe templestyle taiji like your master Gary J. Clyman ?

You are Elijah Wilson also known under about 4 other alts here on this forum. You run scams where you sell DVD's and info regarding neikung. These DVD's are illegal copies of Gary J. Clymans mindlight neikung course. Gary told me he send you the DVD's but your cheque bounced. He is really mad at you, especially for using he's lifestory claiming it as your own and claiming he's neikung system is yours under the name of thundermind neikung. You sell this DVD's illegaly to people on shaolin whanam, taobums, curezone, teahouse 2.0, dragonslist etc. He told me he will eat you alive for pirating he's stuff and copying he's life story telling others its your own.

Alot of what you write is made up out of thin air, fantasised, read in neikungbooks or blatantly copied from Gary's story. Fair is fair, you do have strong knowledge about neikung by now, pitty you try to scam innocent people with it.

Now i know you gonna deny all this (like previous 2 times) .. tell me your not Elijah and pretend im a loony.

I dont care :D I know its you and you know i'm me hehe

You will abandon Templetao like you abandoned Magia, Magnetic current etc and come back in 2 months under another altcharacter to try to hussle new people for your (Gary's thus) neikungsystem.

I understand why you wonna make so much mystery out of taiji .. mystery sells $$$

Still, if you have a qualified master and you practice daily you cannot get any more "spiritual". Taiji is cultivating pure consciousness. A human life isnt enough to cover the depth of taiji.

Walk the form correctly and it is one giant exercise of neikung. Your circulations will start running and your MCO will open up. Maybe follow a lesson or two and you will be suprised that all info you are trying to sell for hundreds of dollars is allready included in a beginnerslesson of Chentaiji :)

    WOW

Is Garry teaching this kind of stuff then ?
