  1. Connecting with my son

Just be a good father - that's huge, more then many are able to do, maybe more then buddha himself. You have to put yourself in his situation and imagine what would make a perfect dad for you then you'll understand what he needs. At least that's my goal with my child and it works...
  2. Well that explains your post name...
  3. Shinobi

What do ninjas want to be when they grow up? CHUCK NORRIS!!!
  4. IRC chat for TaoBums

You guys r making it a science project really. Nothing against IRC - it's a great program but the Live Chat withing thetaobums works just fine. For those who have problems with Java - try using Mozilla Firefox instead of Internet Eplorer and it's gonna ask u to install java then restart the browser and voila u r ready to chat. Everybody who came on yesterday and the day before had a great time - it's very convenient and the fact that you have 2 or more tabs opened within your browser is not a problem - that's why tabs where invented....
  5. come to live chat now ! Satisfaction guaranteed !!!
  6. Have anyone here ever been "zapped" by Wang Liping or witnessed any type of ability from him ? The reason I'm asking is 'cause one of my guys (who doesn't have too much money and got a family to provide for...) saved for this seminar and I would hate him to waste all that money if the guy wasn't for real.... Any inputs would be greatly appreciated I'm trying to make sure this guy doesn't get ripped off, but please don't just refer me to Wang's Taoist Wizard book - I hate that book... Thanks
  7. If you are serious and want some input here's what I got: Pros: Good quality video - I guess good camcorder Good, clear voice - good sound overall Also good ideas (I actually totally don't like the guy that you r talking about). Cons: Stop moving - you made me dizzy almost to the stomach sick level Stay a lot further away from the camcorder - you scared my baby daughter, she was afraid that the bearded head will jump from the monitor and chase her around the house.... Write your script ahead of time Also if you want to be more convincing then bringing other people into the video could help
  8. That was quite horrible ..... r u trying to make a joke or ....?
  9. This is what chi really is

That was quite interesting. Thank you very much for sharing. His name sounds very familiar for some reason.... Anybody has more info on this guy.?... I'd b inclined to get his books...
  10. Lung-gom-pa

I think they still practice this skill in Mexico not far from the US border, it also involves jumping fences and they do move pretty fast ....
  11. Martials Arts videos

Although I'd be curious to see him against a series of real punches - this encounter with the MMA guy is probably the best demo I've ever seen from a taichi master. I wonder if he actually practiced some wrestling or smth or is it pure Tai Chi skill ? Any idea Mr Tiger ?
  12. Top Ten Taobums of All Time

Only one taobum managed to impress me so far and that is << Ya Mu >> - he feels very grounded and practical Thanks mate !
  13. Who's Gurdjeif?

WOW jaloo bravo, nice surprise- both your posts on the subject show a lot about you . You know exactly what r u talking about, my friend - quite a rare thing around this forum...Thank you. I would actually be interested in speaking with you if you didn't mind
  14. How to commit suicide?

Sorry but I think it might take you a while to get the correct answer, dear, you see the people had done it have a tendency not to talk about it... for some reason...
  15. Who's Gurdjeif?

Bennett is pretty good but can deviate quite a bit. I would say that his group teaching was actually more efficient then his writings, but I insist on saying this one more time: Gurdjieff wrote his books with a very precise goal in mind - they are meant to kill all the inherited beliefs in ones brain and perform some sort of a brainwash if you want - which will allow you to see the world unfiltered and unbiased by the regular influence from education, religious dogma or whatever such and such told you etc. His books are a different kind of animal. The reason they are difficult to be understood is because they were designed that way. You are supposed to make a certain type of effort when you read his books and after that your understanding would be of a different kind, your eyes will open. Each book is meant to be read 3 times in 3 different ways and only after that you can say that you have read about Gourdjieff's system (which still doesn't mean much). By trying to avoid reading his books and reading all these other author's opinions you defy the purpose of his teaching and will NOT understand his ideas, guaranteed. Just consider this: Ouspensky for example - a very popular figure of his time in Russia and abroad - great mathematician and journalist and writer. There are areas in science that were developed because of his research, he was also quite versed in different religions and traditions as well as occult matters before even meeting Gourdjieff (and not from reading random books) etc etc he got first hand teaching from Gourdjieff and he still deviated quite a bit and later regretted it. Gourdjieff's teaching is a higher level of teaching and it's not meant to be received by your intelectual function - if you do that - then you are guaranteed to fail because it's like putting diesel fuel in a regular gas engine - it's just a different thing.... Also you cannot compare it nor combine it with a regular religion or philosophy. There are also quite a few side effects possible if you don't follow G's recommendations. Anyway enough for me on this subject ... over and out
  16. Who's Gurdjeif?

Why would you read somebody else's take on the subject when he wrote books himself on a teaching that he himself brought to the west. If somebody wants to understand Gurdjieff's ideas - then read Gurdjieff's books he even tells you how to read them in the beginning of his own book. Also Ouspensky's book is awesome because he just plainly used Gurdjieff's words as he wrote them all down after hearing them directly and Gurdjieff was very happy with Ouspensky's book....
  17. Isn't it great ? Enlightenment, David Verdessi, John Chang ..... all in one mighty thread. Even Kat shows her true identity by revealling her claws .... Who says TTB is loosing it's magic ???
  18. Who's Gurdjeif?

I would have to partially disagree with you. While Ouspensky is the main author on the subject besides Gurdjieff himself - Ouspensky was not his major disciple - although he started that way...
  19. Who's Gurdjeif?

There are tons of books written about him and a few written by him, there are also "teachers" and entire schools following his teaching on every single continent on this planet and in all major cities in the world....
  20. Master Kwan Sai-Hung

I've read somewhere that he himself was saying that he was half german....
  21. No contact combat

    jVDUgUl2tLo
  22. I was about to ask exactly the same question
  23. No contact combat

The bold guy in the video sparred once a beginner Thai Boxer and couldn't apply any of his no contact combat techniques. The russian system can be very good for the practitioner's body coordination development - a little supperior to aikido I would say, but still quite incomplete from a real combat point of view...
  24. Power of the Mind

I'm very interested to hear about any extraordinary abilities that you might think you have - however I am interested only in the ones that you can repeat at will anytime - not things that happened in the past and you had no control over them... Thank you.
