  2. Standing Rock

"In September 2008, TransCanada Keystone Pipeline, LP (Keystone) filed an application for a Presidential Permit with the U.S. Department of State (DOS) to build and operate the Keystone XL Project. The proposed Project would have the capacity to transport 700,000 barrels per day (bpd) of crude oil to delivery points in Oklahoma and southeastern Texas. This Executive Summary of the final environmental impact statement (final EIS) summarizes the proposed Project, including the purpose of and need for the Project, and the major conclusions and areas of concern raised by agencies and the public. More detailed information on the proposed Project, alternatives to the proposed Project, and the associated potential environmental impacts is presented in the final EIS that is provided in the CD in the sleeve on the back page." https://keystonepipeline-xl.state.gov/documents/organization/182010.pdf Reading some of the comments, it might help to have facts to review before making them.
  3. Standing Rock

"Our main venture that we have on Standing Rock is the Prairie Knights Casino, and Highway 1806 is the main access road," said Phyllis Young, who currently serves as a consultant to the tribe on the Dakota Access Pipeline." http://fortune.com/2017/01/21/standing-rock-sioux-pipeline/ I would suggest looking into the “tribe’s” main concerns which are not always as altruistic as some make them out to be. "DOS issued a draft EIS for public review on April 16, 2010 and a supplemental draft EIS on April 15, 2011. The final EIS was prepared and circulated consistent with the Council on Environmental Quality and DOS regulations for implementing NEPA. https://keystonepipeline-xl.state.gov/archive/dos_docs/feis/" Impact reports have been done, if there was evidence the pipe line was not sound they would have used the impact reports to prevent it from starting or to stop it now.
  4. taiji beijing

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xu9GG76Jlx8 one of my classmates who teaches taiji in beijing. "Michelle Gong, Followed her dream as a young girl growing up in a small rural village in China. She learned taiji as young teenager, traveling to the “temple of heaven” in Beijing to study under the taiji masters, and would later go on to win an international competition in 2009. Her dream would lead her to go on to Wudang mountain and learn the 36 form “Wudang Taiji”. Her last taiji teacher she would met in Beijing through a friend. She met Master Zhang Youngliang a noted but very private taiji master teaching in one of the many Beijing parks. She continues to be a noted student of Master Zhang, who has encouraged her to teach people and help them feel the benefits of a traditional internal Gongfu, covered with meditation, very good at physical and mental health.benefits of taiji practice. 5. If you want to practice with me

What I enjoy here that's different from other sites is the openness, and sincerity, coupled with a broad range of experience. Maybe you can share some of yours and others might be better able to understand, or echo your experiences. my wechat id is "windwalker" luck in your path
  6. If you want to practice with me

You don’t mention where you will be teaching or really much about your program. It might help if you give a general synopsis of what your teaching covers. Next year I too will be teaching taiji in Hsinchu. Do you use wechat? A bit much on an English speaking site.
  7. Applying chi to martial arts.

Qi has very specific properties and results when applied to the practice of martial arts. Qi as a meaning comes from Asian martial practices. Practicing qi gong, and CMA noted for the usage of qi and development are very different. https://brennantranslation.wordpress.com/2013/09/14/explaining-taiji-principles-taiji-fa-shuo/ Its a common mistake that many make.
  8. True news vs fake news

“According to the Weather Channel, the Breitbart column is “a prime example of cherry-picking,” in which a single item is taken out of context to build a misleading case. The article later attracted even more attention after the U.S. House Committee on Science, Space and Technology somewhat inexplicably shared it on Twitter.” The problem with labeling something fake or not seems to me to resolve the reader of any critical thinking in questioning what he or she reads. With the advent of multiple sources for news. One's own underlying biases can either be reinforced, questioned, or changed depending on one's own critical thinking skill set. Which in today's modern schools seem to be discouraged in favor of whatever the popular narrative is. The real danger as I see it, this paves the way for some type of self censorship by the fourth estate as it’s called promoting their own narrative based in biases which they they either are, or are not aware of….. China, controls the content of political discourse on their web,,,which they consider very disruptive to their society at large. The US seems to be finding a way to do the same “real” or “fake” news is just the beginning part of this.
  9. Applying chi to martial arts.

https://journeytoemptiness.com/2016/07/02/a-day-in-the-park/ The link shows my teacher in beijing, what is shown is or was pretty much an everyday thing. I am often intrigued by discussions of qi and other aspects of IMA when examples are presented that to my mind can be done by most. There are specific things / effects that can be done or caused using what is called “qi” that can not be done or caused by useing other methods.. What's shown in the clip are in class demos allowing people to make their own distinctions of what it is and is not. In CMA the idea of qi along with others are present in all CMA arts. The differences are to the extent of use and how it’s manifested. In other words some arts use the “qi” to make the actions of the body or the body itself stronger. In other arts its used in a very direct way, the training is designed to allow one to come to some type of paradigm shift in their practice to facilitate the development and use of it over the enhancement of the body directly as in other MA practices. ..
  10. name change

If possible I would like to change my name to “windwalker” I’m leaving another forum and would like to maintain an online continuity for some of those who might follow me or move here. The community here is, and has been very respectful, and sincere in its postings something I very much respect and like. Kind regards david
  11. The intention force way

https://spark.adobe.com/page/WbRbg/ Explains much of what is seen in the video.
  12. Yang Family Long form - a subterfuge?

A good read that gives many logical reasons for why what is suggested was not possible at the time.
  13. What can you do without a teacher?

You might try this looks easy but is not.
  14. Juice: Radical Taiji Energetics

No book will help one improve their "push hands technique" It might help to understand that there is no technique to begin with. Not here to debate the merits of Scott writings vs Mr Chuckorw's, All I mentioned was that there are other teachers out there that are teaching these types of skill sets. I count myself as one. They are not hard to find if one looks. The practice itself is not meant to be easy to "get" In fact I would say with out hands on feeling it would be almost impossible. Few find it, fewer achieve it, many talk about it. Oddly enough many Traditional Chinese teachers in China try to explain their work using a more western physics based approach. There are things as I mentioned that this approach doenst touch on, as what I noted in Mr Chuckorws' writings. Having said this, his writings do reflect what many older masters have tried to say in explaining their craft.
  15. Juice: Radical Taiji Energetics

I've read some of his books, and have seen some his utube clips. dont really agree with some of what is written. I wont comment on the clips. He does do good work and translates many things that would normally not be accessible to non Chinese readers. Just find it strange for people to make comments, with out showing the skill sets they either write about or speak of. while the skill level is rare even in China, there are teachers out there who are coming out explaining it and demoing their work. For those looking for this type of work in this day and age it should be no problem in finding someone or watching the many clips shown. Just got back from meeting this teacher in Taiwan.
  16. "Electric" Chi, What it is, How-to techniques

You might try separating what you feel it is, from what it actually is, from the descriptive terminology used to describe an effect that seems to be similar in nature but is very different in fact.
  17. People find what they seek according to the level sought. The first requirement is to be clear about what they seek. With out this, an old man in the park is just an old man in a park, there are many...but not all are taiji masters.
  18. Juice: Radical Taiji Energetics

From scotts blogg. In light of my own teachers work, other teachers I've met and my own work I find this statement odd.. I think it would be more fair to say that their are few teachers working at this level, not many people have had the opportunity to train either with a teacher directly or one of their students. At this point there are teachers coming out trying to show and explain what and how they feel it works. The Chinese or traditional teachers tend to be more consistent in this aspect, only now are they starting to open up and share their crafts. Many can be found on the web, mostly explained in Chinese. I have found its not really something that one can understand there are many ways used to explain it. It is something through practice one can come to know and get. http://www.chuckrowtaichi.com/ChengCh.7.html teacher chuckrow, Has some good explanation using physics Although there are some aspects I feel he does not touch on, his explanations can be applied to most of what is questioned on the net in clips shown. http://www.chuckrowtaichi.com/ChengCh.7.html
  19. haha, the avitar pic was while I was in China and just bought some food from a street vendor. It can be very lonely at times, Agree, coca cola not a good thing for ones health... I had hesitated in sharing the clip even though I did not post it to utube. he preferred to remain quiet. this clip is in Singapore I believe a little more understandable demonstrations the basic question, about is confused, all things can be a spiritual practice there are practices that will lead to the development of certain skill sets, and others that wont. One has to decide on which path is the best path for them. Its mistake to think that one is easier then the the other.
  20. agree most will not this is my teacher and fellow class mates, at this time he is 94 still teaching in beijing. recently I visited this teacher in Taiwan. Teacher Lin. what is interesting is that they both say the same things and are able to cause the same reactions There are different practices which will tend to develop different things. All CMA arts use "qi" the way, how its used is different the developmental practices are different. One does not lead into the other as is commonly thought. One is not better then the other they are just different expressions of the same ideas concepts in use.
  21. edited: didnt think the clips would help in the discussion. regarding kong jin, Its been a study of mine for awhile both here in the US and in China.
  22. I think the basic question itself is confused. 汪永泉授楊式太極拳語錄及拳照 Wang Yongquan Writings on Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan Translated by Richard Man, [email protected] https://www.scribd.com/document/192143596/WangYongquanWritingsOnYangStyleTaijiquanTranslated-20130812
  23. Yi Chuan demonstration

There are lots of examples of this type of force being used on the net, the clip shown was a demo or part of their training. How it would be used against someone else is not the same, there would be no time for the other to react with what they felt. The groans, or sounds are involuntary reactions to the the persons center being affected. some clips showing some of the same process's in use in a non martial way, focusing on the principals involved. Its important to note when it dosent work, and when it does. This will help in understanding why it does. This clip also shows the processes by which the students learn, understand and correct themselves, though this understanding. a good site that explains many of things demoed using physics. http://www.chuckrowtaichi.com/ChengCh.7.html "its not intuitive" many things shown on the web relating to IMA can be explained, even in person feeling it being used it may not be understood what happened or how, "its not intuitive"
  24. Taiwan - finding an excellent teacher

what kind of teacher would you be looking for? If its taiji, just walking and checking out the parks is a good start. http://www.wuweitaichi.com/articles/Taipei_Report.htm An interesting article of one persons account of the taiji he found in Taiwan. I found Taiwan to be very friendly and interesting although my time was spent in Hsinchu a smaller city up north of Taipei.
