  1. I have tried for many years to improve a health condition using a variety of alternative therapies and have had little success.

Over the last while I have been exploring Qi gong healing and have researched a number of high level Qi gong masters who do healing sessions. My thoughts are the combination of a self practice and a high level healer/teacher will give me the best results.

One of these masters charges 1000 dollars for a session. At the time this did not register, perhaps because I am so desperate to improve my condition. Afterwards I though about it and really could not understand how someone could charge so much for healing.

I've tried to reconcile this in my mind and really can't come up with anything other than greed.

Now the thing is I have actually considered paying for it, as if it helped then it would be worth it. I am not rich (1000 dollars is about a months salary)

On the one hand this person has a good reputation, but it seems to go against Taoist principles to charge so much money, so I find it difficult to understand.

What do you think about someone charging so much?

  2. Hi,

[Edit: Have just realised that my post could have been summed up as 'Yeah, what malikshreds said.]

I've done a little of this (and I mean a little). I also took a seminar with (my Tai Chi teacher at the time) Brian Cooper, who taught a transmitted version of this practice. This transformed my practice of the method and was another example of the value of seeking out a good teacher.

    1. Yes. In general, rest the tongue on the roof of the mouth/behind the front teeth unless you've specifically been told otherwise.

    2. I was specifically told, as a beginner, to separate the two. The aim is to be able to dissolve independently of where you are in the breathing cycle. The temptation is to link 'breathe out' and 'dissolve' - you want to avoid that.

    3. Scan downwards for areas of tension/blockages/not-quite-rightness

    4. How long have you got? You need to do the whole body. If you have ten minutes then it takes ten minutes. If you have 6 hours then take six hours. When I was into it, a full practice would take me between 40-50 minutes but plenty of people went longer than that - plenty of people went shorter too. The important thing is consistency - better to do 10 minutes every day than 40 minutes twice a week. As you practice you'll find a balance between the time you have, the full body scan, and the desire to 'hang out' with certain blocked areas.

    5. Bruce's 'Energy gates' book went into this specific practice in more detail IIRC - might be worth taking a look at that.

    Cheers

    Rob

    Thanks Rob, that is helpful.

  3. I'm experimenting with some of the practices in the book, Relaxing Into Your Being. I have a few questions that I hope some more experienced practitioners can answer:

With the dissolving practice do you always place the tongue on the roof of the mouth?

When Dissolving, do you combine the practice with the internal breathing exercises, or can you do the two separately?

Do you keep some attention on the LDT when dissolving, or just let your mind scan for blockages?

How much time do you spend dissolving a particular blockage before moving on, and how long do you take to do a full scan of the body before starting at the top of the head again?

    Thanks.

  4. In the end, why not try it, before just assaulting it and dismissing?

When you are chronically ill, It is irritating when people spout dogma about healing. Especially when they know nothing about the problem.

I asked about Qi Gong healers/masters in Europe and the majority were kind enough to post some links and answer my question. I did not ask "will Qi gong healing magically make me better and i'd prefer not to do any work myself, thank you very much"

Some people on here cannot seem to help trying to impart their knowledge and wisdom upon others, even if it is not asked for.

Again thanks to everyone who answered my question.

  5. Are you looking for something specific or just comparing?

I'd like to visit a high level healer/teacher to try and help me with my health problems. Ideally i'd like to go and see someone like Chunyi Lin or Micheal Lomax, but travelling to Asia or the USA is not possible for me at the moment, so I hope to find someone in Europe who specialises in healing qi gong.

  6. It seems that the majority are in Asia (unsurprisingly) and the US. Are there any in Europe?

I imagine that in the US, the teachers have a bigger following and are more well known, but it seems as though Europe does not have the calibre of masters/healers for some reason. Is it that they are unknown or do the top guys get drawn to the US?

  7. I've been struggling with terrible insomnia, digestive problems and a general feeling of energy being trapped in my body for the last 5 years. This was a result of me doing EFT tapping.

Is it possible for therapies that work with Energy to cause blockages?

It feels like my thought energy has been trapped in my body, so I don't know if it is a blockage or if the energy has been transformed from one form to another.

I guess what i'm asking is if a problem has been caused by energy medicine is it possible to reverse or change it? Feels pretty permanent to me and I'm losing hope :(

  8. I've been fighting against this for years now, and I consider myself somewhat of an expert.

Most methods you see floating around are slow, passive, and nonspecific. Like relaxing, exercising, eating healthy foods, etc. By the time you have enough stuff stuck in your head to cause insomnia, these methods will not be enough, and you will need to take a more active approach.

The energy, or whatever you want to call it, flows in specific paths. The path it takes going down is the front limb of the micro cosmic orbit, starting from the top of your head and going down the front of your body. That means your forehead, nose bridge, down your tongue (keep the tip of the tongue pressed against your hard palate), chin, front of neck, front of chest, and the front of your belly.

You need to place all of your concentration to the top of your head. Gentle attention is not enough. You need to fight, grit your teeth, and put every ounce of your sweat, blood, and determination into focus up there. Then push down hard, down the path I described above, ending in your belly. Then start at the top again, and push down again. Keep doing this, and eventually you will feel a stream of heat flowing downwards. That's the beautiful sensation of energy getting the @#%@ out of your head and back to your belly where it belongs.

Thank you for this mike, it describes exactly what my situation is. None of the regular suggestions touch the energy in my head. The only thing I have had success with is acupuncture which moves the energy around my body a bit and forcefully pushing the energy down myself. It is not particularly pleasant as it feels like an electric shock coming out of my head and down my spine. Most of the time I am pushing it down the back rather than the front. I normally do this before sleep as it seems to help get some of the energy down for a bit.

Can I ask how.much time do you spend pushing the energy down? I normally do 10-15 minutes before feeling drained.

No matter how much I try the energy always returns to my head and the cycle continues.

  9. Hi kudos100.

Might the remedy lie in your post?

Two healing types interventions and after each one you are worse off than you were before.

Maybe that's an indication for you not to look outside to another person to take on the responsibility for healing you but to have a go for yourself.

Regular disciplined cultivation is a good start.

Fresh air and lots of exercise.

You'll sleep if you are physically tired from good healthy exercise.

Lay off booze completely if you use that and avoid caffeine apart from good tea.

Don't drink soda pop or anything 'fizzy'.

    Change comes from within.

Warmest best regards to you for all success.

I agree I've not had much luck with healing methods. The things you mention help somewhat, but I get a opposite response to exercise. I feel tired but cannot sleep. It is torture. I love mountain biking, but find it really hard as my nervous system and brain seem to get wound up and I am half dead the next day due to lack of sleep.

I never had any problems sleeping until I tried EFT.

I hardly ever drink, never consume caffeine and do not take any stimulants.

I sleep in a blacked out room with no electrical devices and do not watch tv or surf the net before bed. I listen to meditation tapes before bed and wear earplugs.

I've tried tens of different supplements and pills. I meditate before bed sometimes.

Nothing really has a decent effect and without sleeping pills I will sleep for 2-3 hours.

  10. EFT is not a cause but became a trigger for unbalanced opening of energy channels, letting the unresolved emotional issues to come to the forefront, affecting sleep balance.

I agree. The trouble is I have spent the last 5 years of my life trying many things and nothing has worked. I regularly mountain bike, get out in nature and do all of the common things to help the body maintain balance.

I want to try a find a way to get my energy channels back into balance and so far have not had much luck. It feels like an impossible puzzle as meditation, reiki, acupuncture and qi gong have only helped so much and am running out of things to try.

  11. I've suffered from chronic insomnia and headaches for the last 5 years as a result of doing EFT tapping, which caused some sort of energy blockage in my head.

Over the last 5 years I have tried many things (acupuncture, reiki, qi gong,) but nothing has really got rid of the problem.

Last week I went to see an energy healer and although I felt some better physically, I found it almost impossible to sleep that night. Since then my sleep has been even worse and I have been getting headaches more frequently.

If feels as though the energy is even more concentrated in my head.

I'm really reluctant to go back as I've had such a bad experience. The guy is a powerful healer and I think that he may have tried to release the block and made it worse.

I wonder if anyone has some ideas about removing energy from the head. I've heard about grounding it and have had some success with pushing it down to my feet.

I'm at the end of my tether with this and am tired of taking 3 different pills to help me sleep.

Any ideas or personal experience would be great.

  12. This might not be right for you but, ime, it's been worth while to continue searching through acupuncturists. Acupuncturists' style/skill vary a lot. If you've a complicated/unusual case sometimes a small fraction of the acupuncturists you go to will be effective, but that 1 or 2 that help can be life-savers.

Thanks Trunk, I have been considering going to see someone new.

If you push energy around your body but it never releases, try shaking/bouncing as a warm up or as part of a qigong sequence.

The qigong master I went to see suggested something similar, which I practiced for a while, but didn't feel I was getting much in the way of results. I had more success with breathing into my feet and imagining the energy releasing out of the toes.

What I have found with qigong is that it tends to build up more energy rather than reduce it, which makes things worse for me.

Thank you for the video, I will have a go.

  13. Get ahold of the guy who Michael who runs www.emofree.com www.eftrescue.com and tell him his Enochian friend said to get ahold of him. I'm pretty sure it would not cost for his advice.

I'm not sure who you mean. As far as I am aware Gary Craig runs emofree. When it happened I spoke to Gary (founder of EFT) and he was rude and unhelpful. The whole thing has made me very weary of EFT.

If you know someone who might be helpful, I'm all ears.

  14. Hi Everyone,

I have read the forum for some time, but thought it would be a good idea to sign up.

For most of my life I have suffered from OCD. 5 years ago I had a relapse and was desperate to try and do something to help myself.

I decided to try an energy technique called EFT where you tap on meridians and say what you would like to be healed. I tapped away many times asking for the parts of my brain to be healed which are involved in OCD.

After a while some very strange happened. The volume of my obsessive thoughts reduced and I felt a shift of energy at the front of my brain and in my eyes.

It felt as if the energy of my thoughts had been transformed into energy stuck in body. That night I did not sleep and neither did I sleep the following night. I ended up in terrible state and went to hospital as I was worried I might do something stupid.

Since this time I have have chronic insomnia and constantly feel like my brain is over heating. I have been trying to rectify this for the last 5 things and have tried many things. I've been to acupuncturists, reiki healers, a qi gong healer, meditation, microcosmic orbit etc.

Nothing has really a dent and I am still struggling. I can push the energy around my body, but it never releases.

I believe the thought energy has somehow become trapped in my body by doing the EFT and I need to try and find a way to reverse it.

If anyone has ideas or suggestions I'd be grateful.

    Thanks for listening.
