  1. The Universe Emerging from and Returning To Dao

This is a (middle ages?) Western rendition of a very old theme; a theme that I've seen examples of in ancient Sumerian and Egyptian culture. You may have come across similar meaning in ancient TCM paintings that depict the human body/psyche as the scenery or goings on of society. I'll let you work out the rest. Feel free to shoot me a message if you'd rather I just lay it out. Not because it's secret, but because it spoils the fun. It's quite fitting for the post.
  2. The Universe Emerging from and Returning To Dao

I wonder, do you see the message hidden in that last painting (and many others like it)?
  3. "Holding up" perineum

    Basically, reverse pissing.
  4. Mystery

So what exactly are we meant to be discussing? ;p Words cannot sufficiently convey the unknowable. It's forever out of reach. But if you can become a deep well with no ledge to cling to, IT will surely fill you up.
  5. The Now as a spiritual escapism.

And the winner of this thread's most simplified post goes to......
  6. The Now as a spiritual escapism.

Usually bad feelings arise due to something challenging our ability to get to where we want to be, or fear of losing what we already have. Our fears and problems come from bad experiences, or from gradual overcomplicating within. When we begin to think negative thoughts, we're laying the foundations for an intensified feeling of unhappiness later. Such thoughts are like shackles on the mind. You can either let them hold you down while you rot, or you can learn how to pick the lock. If there is no solution, then the problem does not really exist. Escapism suggests you're trying to run away from an issue...which shouldn't be the case. Instead we're knocking down a poorly constructed belief and replacing it with stronger/happier foundation. Problems occur when people ignore their inferior mental infrastructure, trying to make it look pretty by putting colourful posters on the walls. That will never last long. Eventually the posters begin to peel off, and the cracks show once again. Like you've said, we can't truly be in the now until we've unraveled the problems of before. Being in "the now" is the ideal state to be in, because it means we have learnt to deal with problems head on, or avoid them all together. It shouldn't be a place that we aim to run away to for safety.
  7. Does Chinese Civilization Come From Ancient Egypt?

China has secret unmarked pyramids that are off limits and unpublicized, and mummified Caucasian bodies with red hair. Not that these facts prove the two peoples are related, but still, thought provoking at least.
  8. Exactly - funding! As for why they look for radiowaves, it's a likely step towards better communication that most intelligent species may stumble upon. By the time they've traveled far enough for us to detect, the beings that made them could already be extinct. Still, I'm right there with you and most people that want to know - are we the only glitch in the matrix?
  9. Basically the article says: "This signal is extremely unlikely to be anything to do with aliens, and is probably terrestrial communication on an unsual frequency. BUTTT... if you're desperately longing to find evidence of intelligent life elsewhere in the cosmic neighbourhood.....Nope, sorry, it's still not aliens." Reminds me of the hype they span for the star that could be signs of aliens harnessing the power of a star.....OR....it might be a cloud of gas/comets/other space shit we haven't observed yet just blocking our view.
  10. I too had moments where I felt/imagined strong snake-like presences. From huge golden "master of the universe" types, to protective/intrigued bipedal reptilians with cobra-like hoods that I could feel from my spine and far above my head. I don't care to say whether the experience was real or purely imaginary, but it led me down a path that others seem to have experienced. I bought that same book shortly after those experiences, but put it down during the first few pages of dull writing. Is it worth reading through to the end?
  11. You are spirit

The human animal is generally insane and out of touch with spirit. We try to defy and escape it in order to maintain our sense of identity; and even when we think we're on the spiritual path, often we're lying to ourselves about the motive. The Daoist aim is to shed the majority of madness from our lives, returning to a more animalistic equilibrium with spirit, whilst keeping the beneficial aspects of our mental capacity. Of course, it's hard to know where the dividing line between nature and man's insanity lies. One could argue that anything possible in nature is inline with nature/spirit.
  12. How to trust the universe?

People have carved out a notch of stability from the harshness of life. In the real world, everything is out to get you. There are infinte other things dying and suffering around us, but only when we're reminded of our own vulnerability do we worry..."What if that were to happen to me or my loved ones!?" There simply can't be progress without competition and death. Of course, I'm thankful that I wasn't born into a worse off situation. I'll help those that I can along the way, but that's about all any one can do. In the grandest scheme of things, our pain is a convincingly well-acted performance.
  13. Deception was my job

"Asians" is far too broad....Chinese are definitely the worst behind the wheel.
  14. "This was preliminary though because video tapes from the recording of this experiment showed time distortion. It was also reported that near-by-clocks will show the full time of the experiment as it passes, despite the fact that, in some cases, the camera only showed 1 minute of film time. It’s funny, because these time disturbances are also commonly reported with these types of practices in Chinese folklore." So, the time on the clocks doesn't match that of the video speed, and the author puts it down to spooky time distortions as told in Chinese folktales..... Am I misreading this, or is the author really that biased?
  15. Double split

I believe this has to do with the way our eyes/brains absorb and record light, and that our understanding of light is flawed.
  16. Using chi or thoughts to manifest cash flow?

To put that law of attraction mumbo jumbo into a sentence: If you actively think about something all the time, you'll be more likely to come up with an idea or spot an opportunity than if you just sat around feeling glum.
  17. Anybody want to share healing techniques?

Great thread Mani, I hope me posting now doesn't spoil your current flow. Like yourself, many of us deep down are still sceptical; and that is why there are so many different practices, designed to appeal to/crack open different minds/beliefs. The idea is to unshackle the mind from it's beliefs, or tap into those which are well established (like tje Christian faith). When the mind is able to let go of control, the body naturally heals. It wants to, but the power to do so is usurped by this false sense of self. Letting go is key. Many of us are clenching onto events/memories that we think define us somehow; and they do define us for as long as we cling. That continuous obsessing or burrying (and reburrying) of such memories takes a heavy toll. In many cases the act needs simply to be forgiven, by a devine authority figure, or if possible the offender/offended. Then, there is the ultimate goal of teaching a (willing) person more about what they are, so that these emotional healing methods become redundant. Emotional healing is temporary, as are all emotions that come and go, changing like clouds riding the wind. That is why people often need a "reminder" or see problems reappear. However, to one that observes reality on a higher level (not so lost in the world of unnecessary values), they may know themselves better (through forgetting themselves) and naturally heal. This is why the body heals more as the mind rests. Not everybody is ready for that amount of letting go, and often when we think we are, we are proven wrong. Getting ready for my daily drive along the chaotic city roads of China...about to prove it to myself once more ;p
  18. King Tut's meteorite knife

It was special because it seemingly came from the heavens, and was stronger than their bronzeage tools.
  19. Fire versus Water methods - Action over Stillness, West vs. East

That there must be ups and downs is THE thing to accept. Placing our feet back down on the ground, it then becomes the platform that provides force to take another step. That's progress. Looking ahead instead of down at the drop makes life easier to balance. As for your post, be both fire and water. There's no need to limit yourself to one mode of living. Different situations call for different actions.
  20. Why do people fall in love?

We're born halflings and seek to unite as a pair into one whole. True love can't be fell unto, it comes after all the exciting frictional feelings, when equilibrium has been met. More often than not, when we talk of falling inlove, we're describing the friction and attraction that sometimes leads to it.
  21. Heard a Disturbing Story about Max Christensen

I think you misunderstood the original meaning. That said, I'm not sure you're really paying attention to your own words either...excited about naughty things happening with 13 year olds!? You were right to apologize.
  22. Magnetic Reconnection

This is a some solid evidence for the electric nature of the universe (and everything between). It's no surprise, but awesome all the same to see the mainstream publishing these findings now, especially NASA.
  23. Spiritual Bypassing

That's a good summary for 90% of YouTube spiritual channels.
  24. Hammer test

    Psst, Karl, that's your cue.
  25. Enjoying the experience is a large part of It, there's no violating of Dao. Just don't go violating your own little nook by over doing it. Lift a reasonable amount to achieve peak performance.
