What happened was that a lot of people woke up. Keep in mind that even during the Clinton years, wages never caught up to inflation. Even though, as far as real wages are concerned, Clinton was far better than Reagan, Pappy Bush, and Junior. Also, during that time frame, H1-Bs and illegal immigration were used to keep wages down. Service jobs were also moved overseas from the United States. Manufacturing jobs have been dwindling for decades. Years and years ago, only a householder had to go to work in order to keep a household running. Then again, other ethnic groups had been abused so that someone somewhere can have their cake and eat it. The situation NOW is where both adults out of a household have to work and it may be that one or both have to have two jobs, JUST TO GET BY...that is IF a job is available.

It doesn't mean that they are "out of power" just because a new "front man" is rotated in.
