  1. Yes it will definitely take some getting used to but whatever works. The site is going to be screwed up on google for a while though.
  2. Discuss Truth Forum

Discuss Truth Forum discusstruth.com After running the Neigong Forum for a almost a year now I've decided to start a sister site geared more towards the discussion of philosophy, science, religion, & skepticism. I wanted a separate site for debating these issues rather than clogging up a site that is focussed on mediation and neigong. Anyway I just thought I'd give ya'll a heads up for any of you that are interested in the topic. You are all welcome there! Since I know most of you here on TTBs anyone joining from here will get the position "senior member".

You get extra privilages plus a cool banner on your posts. Ah so it is. Thanks!

Uhh... completely eliminating sex drive? Sounds like an awful idea to me. Why would you want to do that? I think people give their sex drives a bad wrap too often. Sex is awesome and you shouldn't wish to eliminate one of the greatest pleasures available to you.
  5. The Cool Picture Thread

Dang VTDT those are some pretty awesome mazes!
  6. The deep significance of the placebo effect

I wish I had a placebo meter. Sometimes it can be frustratingly difficult to decided whether or not some things are real or placebo.
  7. Everyone post some favorite quotes!

"Always remember that you are absolutely unique. Just like everyone else." -Margaret Mead
  8. Ling Bao Tong Zhi Neng Nei Gong Shu

If Wang Liping is as advanced as his students claim then the instruction manual they created goes over only the very, very basics.
  9. Atheism as a religion

    LOL that's what I'm wondering.
  10. Atheism as a religion

The only absolute fact is that there are no absolute facts.
  11. Atheism as a religion

I'm an atheist in terms of not beliving in mythology anf the idea that there is an all-power being in the sky that has always existed and created the universe. I don't label myself as an atheist however because of the "only believe in currectly accepted scientific paradigms" stigma. Not that all atheists are necessarily like that but most are which is why the stigma usually goes along with atheism. I am a free-thinker. I believe things based on evidence. I do not however shrug off good evidence just because it isn't currectly accepted by the scientific community and taught in all major universities and schools.

  13. Something that takes you to a whole new level and far beyond anything you would encounter in the everyday life of an ape. This kindu reminds me of how Christians use the word "profound" to describe the Holy Spirit and what not. If they took a step back then they would realize that it's just a game in their heads with no real significance. They want something spiritual and profound in their lives so instead of finding something worthwhile they indulge in "spiritual drugs". Most meditative practices are about as useful as prayer imo.
  14. Your idea of "profound" is a lot different than mine.
  15. 2 hours still isn't very long tbh. I've gone for up to 7 hours before and still wasn't able to reach a deep enough state for training. And as far as all forms of meditation achieving results, that honestly isn't the case. Most meditative practices won't produce any worthwhile results. My advise would be to clearly define what your goals are, then set out to find the practices that best suit those goals and have evidence backup their legitimacy.
  16. If what is written is true, then Wang Liping is beyond John Chang's level. I will need more evidence before I believe that.
  17. First Post: Discovering Mo Pai Nei Kung

Comprehension issues. Joe blast said "Don't attain power without wisdom." Survey said... I mean, KenBrace said "Well, you probably wouldn't get anywhere in MP without at least an average intelligence level anyway." So basically if you're stupid and have no wisdom you probably won't get anywhere with Mo Pai anyway.

Without at least an average intelligence level you probably wouldn't get anywhere with Mo Pai anyway.

I disagree. Do it for the power. The power to escape death and rebirth.
  20. And don't forget to work on eliminating stress if that happens to be an issue in your life. Stress is a real killer (literally). Same goes for a bad diet, lack of sleep, and an inactive lifestyle. People are always looking for cures and treatments to heal their health problems but end up just wasting thousands of bucks on medication, drugs, qigong "healings", therapists, etc. If people would just take care of their health, they wouldn't need so many cures and treatments.
  21. Most "spiritual healers" are frauds. Especially the ones that charge $1,000 for a session. Please don't waste your money on that garbage. If you want to improve health, the best way is really to just eat healthy, exercise, and get 8 hours of sleep. A good balance between those three will work wonders. It also doesn't require you to spend thousands of dollars.
  22. Filling up the lower Dan Tien- How and Why

The way I understand it you've got to allow your body to fall asleep while keeping your mind awake and alert. And not only that but after you've successfully fallen asleep while keeping your mind awake, you've got to sink deeper into sleep to the point where your brain wave activity, heart rate, and breath rate slow down to an almost stop. Far below the lowest delta stages of normal sleep.
  23. Ice Bucket bail out...

    Dude, just do it lol.
  24. Hello! Atheist, Skeptic & Open Minded Here:)

So...... You'd rather just accept the fact that you'll be left with nothing but an empty yin spirit after death and likely get reincarnated, instead of trying to do something about it?
