Well first off we shouldn't base any beliefs on what some "psychic" thinks. Second off, we don't really know what level Liping is at. We have no real evidence that he is anything more than a faker. If he's not a faker then we still have no idea what level he is at. According to his students he is at Chang's level or higher. He may not claim that however. It's hard to tell.

To be honest I think your primary focus should be on meditation. Tai Chi is ok for stretching the body and generating blood flow but if you really want to get somewhere meaningful, meditation is the way to go. So yes, you should be closing your eyes during practice.

Why do you suspect mistranslation or false info? John Chang can demonstrate what no one else on this Earth can (or anyone that has shown themselves). I don't think we should shrug off what he and his students say in place of random schools and "masters".

No degree is completely worthless. You learned a lot and that's going to help you throughout your life. Does that mean that it's useful in your financial life? Not necessarily. And that's the main point of getting a degree. That much be pretty rough. I'm currently studying for 4 year degree in computer science. Hopefully that will help me a lot (most employers want a degree in CS).

I'm of the persuasion that most "astral travel" is simply lucid dreaming AKA an illusion. Perhaps the travel of the soul away from the body is real but I doubt many people can do it even though they think they can.

I haven't been on here in a while and I was quite surprised to find the new logo. This is the 3rd one so far that I can remember. Looks pretty cool. Though the title is little misleading since newcomers might not know whether to call it "the tao bums" or "the dao bums". Not that big of a deal though. Just curious.
