  1. [HHC Study] Hua Hu Ching Chapter 21

It's all good, I took a break for a bit then recently felt like doing more I guess I just like to chip away when the mood strikes me as it's an interesting exercise typing out the passages. Increasingly I find I have less and less to say but I do enjoy reading others perspectives.
  2. Help please, rescue moon lady.

On the 29th day, when the moons full radiance had wained to darkness, Chang E's shadow was freed. Guided and sustained by the incense and offerings, the moon lady did indeed tend to the needs of the people and answer their heartfelt prayers. Then Chang E would join Hou Yi in his dreams, where they would share moments of immortality, before dawn's morning light chased away the night.
  3. Did Carlos Castaneda make it all up?

Link to the full 1968 radio interview https://archive.org/details/DonJuanTheSorcerer-CarlosCastanedaInterviewedByTheodoreRoszak I enjoyed this as it was recorded around the 1st book release.
  4. Over-engineering your practice

I like to pay with words and "name" basic or beginning practices as fundamental or foundation practices. Otherwise I find I just have an expectation of a moving/improving progression from basic to advanced. Rather than an appreciation of just how important the fundamentals are.
  5. Modafinil seems to be the current wonder drug that many are using http://www.theage.com.au/news/general/a-real-eye-opener/2006/05/04/1146335866910.html?page=fullpage http://boldanddetermined.com/2012/07/12/become-mighty-modafinil/ I haven't tried it, I was once really keen to try some sort of polyphasic sleep as I use to need ~9hrs sleep but like most TTB's I find meditation reduces my sleep requirements, with a good 30 min session of meditation seeming to reduce sleep by a 90 min sleep cycle.
  6. KAP vs Hoshin Tao chikung

Santi is teaching currently, facebook is probably still his best general contact but he gets a LOT of queries (plus has a family and works full time as well as teaching KAP and Martial arts)- be polite but persistent. If lack of money is the only barrier, then it’s not a barrier as arrangements can be made. If it’s a lack of money because there are other “more important” things to spend money on, then that’s a barrier Meanwhile you could combine your meditation mastery CD’s with the secret smile http://thetaobums.com/topic/9719-dr-morriss-secret-smile-breathing-basic-kap-1-giri-for-the-tao-bumbs/?p=116420
  7. KAP vs Hoshin Tao chikung

    Might be of interest http://www.kundalinisupportnetwork.com/
  8. While I don't think it's possible to alay the endless issues that arise from on line discussion of video demonstrations ... this seems like a resonable attempt. from http://cattanga.typepad.com/tabby_cat_gamespace/2013/10/index.html as they say ... "One touch and all is known"
  9. I'd like to think that (while it may not always appear that way) you are also a valued member of TTB Aaron. These days I find that I'm not really drawn to debates and discussions. But I do value keeping in touch with the 'bums I've met along the way and hearing how they are traveling.
  10. (While "The master continued his instruction" Mal is going on holidays tomorow for ~2 weeks )
  11. I use to look to specific systems. This “ism” or that “ism” But I’ve found that over time the systems I’ve liked most and that have helped me the most were the ones that had people and teachers that I could communicate with and whose beliefs and ideals resonate with mine. So for me the Kundalini Awakening Process had been the most beneficial because of Santiago, Susan, and Tao’s guidance and the great group of students from all over the world involved in KAP.
  12. Got Any Fiction Recommendations?

Thanks Chang. I really enjoyed the trilogy (the description of "The other place" was quite interesting) Bartimaeus is clever and funny ... but I've not been able to start the ring of Solomon yet as while the ending was excellent and really couldn't have gone any other way ... but .... well .... it's definitly worth reading though
  13. A useful response, thanks for the link. Personally I like the acronyms/abbreviations as they are a bit more meaningful/descriptive to what I feel. But that's probably because I don't really have a traditional taiji syntax. My teacher taught in English and described with his English translations. I always struggle to "label" what I'm feeling with the correct terminology
  14. Apparently 7 in 10 internet users still don't know they can have an add free internet. So Adblock is going to advertise! A great idea IMO https://campaign.getadblock.com/adblock-it-s-time-to-spread-the-word
  15. Hi Guys, Sweet looking site and mod set up these days. As a past mod I'm really impressed with the changes - good ideas followed through and realised _/\_ Would it be possible to pin a thread in the HHC study [HHC Study] Background and Criticisms http://thetaobums.com/topic/26208-hhc-study-background-and-criticisms/?p=390232 and then merge the posts from the thread [HHC Study] Does The Hua Hu Ching Promote Intolerance? Cultural Imperialism? http://thetaobums.com/topic/30438-does-the-hua-hu-ching-promote-intolerance-cultural-imperialism/?p=452638 Obviously I feel there is merrit in the study of the HHC. While it will never get a "lot" of comments, many people know only of he controversy so even though I don't like pins it's perhaps worthwile pinning some "Background and Criticisms" info. Cheers - Mal
  16. Tao Bums group meditation?

The is a Tao bum group on the phone App Insight timer although there isn't anyone else in the group Insight timer show who is using the app worldwide (I.e. who is currently meditating)
  17. Exactly :-) and it's excellent to hear he is doing well _/\_
  18. Board Wishlist

Sean added it because 2013 is year of the snake - hence why it Jumps Out compared to the other artwork.
  19. Cheers Tin Yat Taoist, I don't like Tao Uncut but thanks for the info.
