  1. What is your focus right now?

Am about to embark on the Systema Breathing book and dvd...looks like excellent material, I'm not really interested in the martial art aspect, but all the other benefits of breathing practice, and this looks like the real deal. Book and dvd look excellent... will be reporting my experiences, and am going to start Standing Like a Tree again. Check it out: http://www.leteverybreath.com/ Shiva Das
  2. Cancer and Qi Gong Masters

I am an allopath, but see that it would be unwise to advise anyone like this, so withdraw my offer of consulting with anyone. I'll just post suggestions and interesting things here, and the rest is up to you. Have been studying alternative medicine since the late 80's, when I was swimming against the stream, before it became the thing to do and integrative medicine popped into existence. Will offer only suggestions that are well rersearched, and post, but can't take on the 'legal liability' for counseling people personally. Buddy, thanks for the important reminder!
  3. Cancer and Qi Gong Masters

Get him to see a Chi Gung master (see Wu's clinic website, he treats a lot of cancer), and get him on some IP-6 with Inositol ASAP! There's a lot of research being done, goole 'IP-6 cancer'. Can be bought online, or in a health food store. Can't hurt! Also Luke Chan Chi Lel system gets a lot of people who are dealing successfully with health issues, including cancer. Look at he website and call him up or send him an e-mail asking for advice, succcess stories, etc. I have other ideas, too...I'm an MD with a long time interest in Alternative medicine and healing. If you wan't to run anything by me, or general advice, contacts, send me a private email and I'd be happy to talk with you (no charge, of course). Is the guy open minded about non-material reality? Spiritually inclined?
  4. Cancer and Qi Gong Masters

Correction...IP-6 with Inositol is the recommended form to take. intested in hearing of any others experiences with cancer... remember, cancer isn't an 'outside' invader. They are your OWN cells that have switched out of a self regulating process and are now responding to another mechan ism that just tells them to grow wiithout stopping. It seems to me that if they ar your OWN cells gone crazy, you ought to be able to intervene and get them to stop, Chi masters and practice seem like an ideal way, along with whatever else you do.
  5. What are the best books on standing meditation?

Again, if in the Bay Area, Fong Ha would be good to get instruction and advance your practice, I took a class in NYC with him once, and he had just decided to take cold showers in the morning. I FINISH UP with cold always, seals the energy in, and a great practice, and was energetic, affable and seemed powerful. I walso had the Way of Energy tape transferred from the English PAL to the American NTSC, if enough people are interested would be willing to make copies and send em out to TaoBums. Also, if you've never practiced Standing Meditation in real nature, it is incredible. Doing it on a huge boulder is a whole different level. Anyone with opinions on standing on strong magnets? Shive Das
  6. What are the best books on standing meditation?

Durkhrod, Thanks for the nice link on Standing. God, I LOVE to stand!
  7. ,

If it were me, I would find the best qi gong master there is and go for treatment. I have heard wonderful things about Baolin Wu in California. Also, do a google search for 'IP-6 and cancer'. May God Bless You and Keep You, Shiva Das
  8. Hello Fellow Travellers

Hi Everyone, Just discovered this site...what a fantastic thing! for all levels, and it looks like newbie to casual to serious practitioners to really valuable practitioners with lots of experience and development. I have been practicing Zhan Zhuang for about 10 years, and somehow let it go over the past two years. This should give me inspiration to stand again, for I truly love standing meditation, and follow the books of Lam Kam Chuen and Jan Diepersloot. Never had any personal instruction or guidance. Have recently discovered a book and dvd Chi Kung 'course' that I will post about for feedback next in the general forum. Looking forward to participating, and if there are any other members in the Tucson area, would love to hear from you. Steve [email protected]
  9. What are the best books on standing meditation?

Essential books are both of Jan Diepersloot's, Warriors of Stillness 1 & 2, Lam Kam Chuen's 'Way of Energy', 'Way of Power' (more advanced, also good dvd available), and his new book , 'Master Lam's Walking Chi Kung' is teriffic. If you live or are visiting the Bay Area, get in touch with Fong Ha for perhaps some personal instruction, fine tuning, or attending some of his classes....would be invaluable if you're self-taught. Most important thing is to just stand. I used to live in a canyon in the Catalina Mountains in Tucson, and standing on a big rock out in Nature really supercharges your standing. Treat yourself to an some real Nature Standing, on a rock that calls to you. Anybody have any experience doing ZZ while standing on powerful magnetic plates. Peter Ragnar, who I can't figure out, has a course in magnetic chi gung, while standing on strong magnetic plates. If you're interested in getting magnets, don't by from him, but search the internet for places that sell magnets, and you'll save lot's of money. Steve
