  1. What is your Enlightenment paradigm?

Is this an example of your ttb community service work? Lecturing others on how they are? Yikes, harsh dharma! Where's the equanimity? Your behavior reveals clinging to your ego defenses, over and over again. I see no trace of equanimity in your behavior here, since you arrived here with the preaching and defending, brother Vj.
  2. Dependent Origination

    Oh, puh-lease!!
  3. Dependent Origination

So, what is this state of 'Buddhahood' that you keep going on about? Who are examples of this? You apparently believe you are well on your way to becoming a 'Buddha'. Why? From your writings you seem to point to it being the natural result of ?believing in? ?engaging? dependent origination.
  4. Dependent Origination

I'm sorry, but I know a lot of nice American Buddhists who, generally speaking are caught up in their own 'stuff'. I am not that impressed by their service work. They seem to be mostly caught up in their heads rather than engaged socially. I know this is an over-generalization, but still. I agree with Ya Mu. Vaj, what kinds of external charity are you engaged in?
  5. Dependent Origination

I have to remind myself of this when I go into a Walmart (rarely) and see masses of sleeping slobs dwelling in their lower chakras. Too bad humans too often waste the precious gift of a human birth.
  6. New and confused!

It's great that you are able to have practical use of the Tao Te Ching, it takes some time for a lot of people to get to that point. Perhaps you aren't co confused after all?
  7. Dependent Origination

Theoretically perhaps, but I don't note it actually occurring in the real world.
  8. Seiki-jutsu/Autokinetics

Sounds great, Uli. Are you in the UK? You had been shaking though long before those gatherings based on Keeney's book?
  9. Rumi

    mmmm...nice...
  10. Seiki-jutsu/Autokinetics

  11. Dependent Origination

Sure, give it a shot. I don't see then, why any intelligent person would bother with anything other than this view, and yet there are many brilliant Christian and hindu thinkers. Even non-dualism is subsumed. Why isn't this more widely known?
  12. Dependent Origination

OK, so your 'irrefutable premise' is that the Universe is dependently originated. I probably have some homework to do to see if that is the case. I don't see however, how meditative experience can verify the ultimate origin of the Universe. If this is so, I can see why/how Vajra is always saying that all other ways are lesser.
  13. Rumi

Blasphemy and the Core My soul keeps whispering, "Quickly, be a wandering dervish, a salamander sitting in its homefire. Walk about watching the burning turn to roses. As this love-secret we are both blasphemy and the core of Islam. Don't wait! The open plain is better than any closing door. Ravens love ruins and cemetery trees. They can't help but fly there. For us this day is friends sitting together with silence shining in our faces."
  14. Dependent Origination

Can you walk me through why this is "proof" rather than just a convenient view? Why can't d.o.be false, or just another way to look at things? Why must it be the way reality is?
  15. Dependent Origination

So is dependent origination a 'proof' that God doesn't exist, or an alternate view?
  16. Peak Oil and the end of civilization as we know it.

Oh, Hardyg...your response shows a flicker of the faculty of humor...you're actually developing one!!! He he...bloody nose...he hee!
  17. Peak Oil and the end of civilization as we know it.

Yes, yes, you're right. By saying I am the WINNER, (it implies that you yourself, are the LOSER), since you stated in another thread that you can't be insulted anymore but that you try to figure out the reasons that people consider you (insert insult). So, I am glad that we agree on something then!
  18. Peak Oil and the end of civilization as we know it.

So peak oil and global warming are real and some people are making money off it. Sounds like just about everything else in the world. He said "it sounds realistic but (not 'and'!) he heard it's a scam (not 'also a scam'). Semantics matter. I win. he he.

  20. What Books are by Your Bed?

'Cutting for Stone' by Abraham Verghese 'Huna' by Serge Kahili King 'Awareness- Insights for a New Way of Living' by Osho 'The Miracle of the Breath' by Andy Caponigro 'The Shadow Effect-Illuminating the Power of Your True Self' by Deepak Chopra, Debbie Ford and Marianne Williamson
  21. Peak Oil and the end of civilization as we know it.

Why are these ideas a "scam"? It is a logical fallacy to simply conclude that if some people are trying to make money based on idea, that it follows that the idea is therefore false. Aren't the stakes too high not to take these seriously? Or is it too comfortable to consider them a "scam" and go back to sleep?
  22. Taoist Problem Solving Methods

If you've never actually tried psychedelics, they have the potential to shift your perceptions and reality. Regarding Steve Jobs, the co-founder of Apple computers, " Jobs experimented with psychedelics, calling his LSD experiences "one of the two or three most important things [he had] done in [his] life".[38] He has stated that people around him who did not share his countercultural roots could not fully relate to his thinking.[38]" -from Wikipedia.
  23. Modern Life

Yes, manitou, I have something similar that is difficult, that has to do with the collective. I am most cutely aware/uncomfortable with it in the early hours of the morning, or when I first wake up. I have had an incredibly vivid dream life lately, affected perhaps by some of the supplements I take, at times lucid, but my dreams seem to unfold in 'real-time', and take me so deeply to another existence, it becomes actually painful, and temporarily unbearable, to come back to this reality. I have to bring myself fully into the present, and let the world slowly come back in...I think it's similar to what you are describing.
  24. Taoist Problem Solving Methods

Hmmm. You said you were into Gendlin's Focusing? Have you encountered this one? It seems to be perfect for what you're describing. Let Your Body Interpret Your Dreams Also, working with a Jungian psychologist may be another way of interpreting your dreams. Here is another book I personally can highly recommend to you, by a noted Jungian:Inner Work You probably don't need anything else if you really take in these books.
