  1. Do we/can we choose our thoughts?

Haha RV, no. It looks like TV media and popular books. It looks like websites and blogs. It looks like psychotherapeutic practice and socially-endorsed group therapies...
  2. Can Kundalini "burn up" entities?

I didn't push the like button because I 'like' what you're going through but I admire your resolve. It's also ok (I think) to ask for help from people who might know what you're going through and can apply tried and tested techniques (this means not everyone is an expert:-)) --opinion etc--
  3. sleep

    Most definitely not a bot:-)
  4. Oh sorry! I thought you'd made it.
  5. Shapeshifting

I had something to add but felt dodgy about adding because of my admitted New Age aversion. I met a great horse-trainer once who taught me stuff. And I tried it and it worked. And then I found a wikipedia thing about it. And being a concierge don't help none:-)
  6. Can Kundalini "burn up" entities?

    Go for it:-)
  7. Shapeshifting

    It's why forums:-)
  8. Can Kundalini "burn up" entities?

I have heard this idea before. I guess I question both the truth and the usefulness of it to someone going through it. But interesting nonetheless.
  9. Do we/can we choose our thoughts?

By attacking me? Ok, I'm feeling exceptionally thick at this stuff. Would you mind explaining Stosh?
  10. Hello,everyone

    Welcome!
  11. This is a great place to ask! Just be discerning with the advice you do get. ---2cts---
  12. Do we/can we choose our thoughts?

Thanks Clarity. No, it's just this specific person or couple of people that are riding the New Age bus to the point where their empathy has gotten off before their beliefs have. Actually, one of them is less on the New Age bus and finds the other a bit quirky with that stuff but lays into me because she herself did the very thing I expressed hurt and upset at. I only found that part out the other day. So I can understand that makes her uncomfortable. What I don't understand is why attack me for it?
  13. Shapeshifting

I think they influence people. Other than that, the scientific folks are often looking to the animal world to understand the human one. If I read another prairie vole story to justify long-term monogamy (or not justify it since they have since found other prairie voles that don't do it) I may burst out laughing, were it not that people then take it seriously as a model for human conduct or as a justification for their misconduct:-) Sorry to OT slightly.
  14. Ganying

I was considering that the use of discreet entities (spirit worship) to identify impersonal forces was specifically for collaboration with the latter on the levels required to effect changes relevant to the people needing or wanting the change. Or something like that. ---ramblin'---
  15. Can Kundalini "burn up" entities?

    MPWay, shamanic sys-admin;-)
  16. Do we/can we choose our thoughts?

Thanks Chris. I don't know enough about the skandas as a system to address this properly but I felt I agreed with what 3bob had to say about it in the other thread that's going on.
  17. Hi 3Bob, sorry to hear you're under the weather. I agree with you about the impersonal consciousness and emptiness. You might like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Master_and_His_Emissary
  18. Do we/can we choose our thoughts?

Ah, Clarity, if I had to find nicer people for every passive aggressive friend or person I've had in my life so far, well, sometimes I think there'll be no-one left at all! And that would be quite a lonely existence... I agree with you to some extent about the tangling up. Deleting sort of seems kind of like a sneaky thought - an 'anti-thought'? :-)
  19. Do we/can we choose our thoughts?

Who are you talking to Chris? Also the last part, I don't understand the differences. Could you get into that?
  20. Shapeshifting

This is GREAT, we have Hugh Jackman on the forum --kidding-- Nice to read you again Mr Sloppy
  21. The Bazi system sets up combos of elements (and other things) that act on each other to produce specifics.
  22. I was wondering whether you had the image tracking synched to the sound Hz. It didn't seem as 'synched' as it could be. Are you using a video mixing desk? If I could suggest? Slowing some of the forest rotations down and some alternative breaks to the water. In fact I would have taken the water out entirely for this one and concentrated on spiking some of the lights instead. And it would be great to have the 'recipe' for the synching stuff. Especially for meditators who may not be on the same waking consciousness frequencies. ---2 cts opinion-- Edit: Also check out this author: http://www.amazon.com/Healing-Speed-Sound-Transforms-Brains/dp/145582867X/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1366153652&sr=8-14&keywords=healing+with+sound There's some really interesting stuff being done. Also this http://www.youroasis.ca/vat.html If you've done some qi-gong, you'll know there are practices making use of sound and vibration:-)
  23. Do we/can we choose our thoughts?

I think you might be on to something Jetsun. What I've also noticed is that I meditate the way I am (I mean the conditioned me) so the whole suppressive/control your thoughts (and feelings) thing could just be a continuation of that. And I know where that has its roots (I think). The more I contemplate it, the more it does seem that way but well, have to be discerning... I wrote a post a while back about just 'switching one 'pointy hat' for another 'pointy hat'' in this process and it seems this bears out all the way into my practice.
  24. Do we/can we choose our thoughts?

Those are some interesting points Hydrogen. I agree that happens a lot. I didn't get the sense this time that they were insecure in their conviction though. They seemed pretty convinced to me. It reminded me of some kind of fundamentalism.
