  1. Evaluate my financial plan/ future

good points, songtsan. very sane and down-to-earth i think the salient point of this thread is how does one live a good life in this world how does one follow the path in the "hood". if we could discuss this realistically in full cognizance of harsh realities it would be helpful (for your book)
  2. chris mooney? he defends climate change and evolution theory and concludes republicans who reject those suppositions do not accept science and reality. guys like mooney lives in a democracy but belittle the rights of others to their opinions he thinks that liberals with an arts degree are smart and conservatives with an engineering degree are stupid.
  3. Evaluate my financial plan/ future

the great thing about our great country is that you can still be in india in california and jackson heights, new york, is no different from mumbai i have been to chinatowns here in the usa and could swear i was in hongkong restaurant/food industry? front end or back? sounds like a fun career you could be the chef and your girlfriend a maitre'd? that'd work even for buddhists
  4. don't be silly i am not interested in who you are personally. but when you make conclusions that are ridiculous to me, i need to know where you are coming from if i knew, then i would be able to see the rationality of your viewpoints and not debate you unnecessarily where i come from, which is america the koch bros are like the three pure ones on my altar
  5. Evaluate my financial plan/ future

i thought about that but he may be from india where the girlfriend hands everything over i thought about that too but he may be from india where the girlfriend hands everything over and cooks the food i also thought about that but too much reality would spoil the spirituality in this thread you sound like a sane guy who accepts gravity as a fact of life so, what are you doing here?
  6. you sound like a feudal lord yourself or an official in government service if you think 34,000/year is chicken shit

you are ok for an older guy. heck, you are going great for an older guy. which older guy is even interested in spiritual discussion let alone do it at your level duking it out with immortals? as for sex, i would be very surprised if the women are not easy prey if you decided to turn predator. spirituality, generally, is the preserve of wimpish males who can't even keep their backbones erect. but it makes a tough guy, like you, romantically appealing to white women.

ok, let me see. since you are content with your lot and not seeking a prison break, you can't be # 3. # 2 is meant for crooked politicians and conmen who exploit the prisoners. you are a straight arrow. so, this is not your slot. #4 is definitely not for apes of which you are one. this is out. that leaves # 1. do you feel like # 1?
  9. trust you to put up abnormal earning figures when oil prices were driven up to unrealistic levels. still, those were never-to-be repeated year-over-year earnings figures the net margin of 5% does not vary that much. there are lots of risks in the oil business. bp losses practically wiped off a third of its market cap over the macondo incident. all things even, the kolkata vendor has a higher margin with none of the risk.
  10. Evaluate my financial plan/ future

looks like a good life to me. who's going to pay you 30 - 40 k a year? what will you have to be working at to get that kind of money?
  11. 7 Levels of Humanity

how did you come up with your explanation? did you uncover the present? for your info, i am man # 3. what about you?
  12. 7 Levels of Humanity

only the dead is not personal about anything. put two fingers to right side of your neck just under the jaw do you detect a pulse?
  13. 7 Levels of Humanity

ok, so what is your number, you reckon?
  14. i need to connect with you. i won't apologize for being american but i can try to march to your beat you did? can you tell me again? lots. nobody likes us for one reason or another. if i know where you are from i would know the reason you talking about me, or you? i'm from the usa if you are not, then you are canadian, mexican, nicaraguan, or argentinian, etc. nobody hates those guys the way they hate us americans.
  15. back in those days, my dad said everbody cut their own lawns with a lawn mower on sundays and if people have kids, they did it. now everybody's lawn is cut by mexicans. they'd come everyday making a racket with their lawn movers and leaf blowers monday, at my neighbor to the south tuesday, at my neighbor's to the north wednesday on the other side of the road to the left thursday on the other side of the road to the right i can't concentrate writing posts on the front porch. it's so annoying
  16. of course it is but what can we do? we spend too much money on the wrong people in china, prisoners don't get to play basketball in prison yards they are shipped off to africa to help china develop africa.
  17. come on, rene, let's not get alarmed over nothing. law school curricula are not all that different from state to state contract laws are basically the same, even internationally at any rate, differences and terms are worked out by parties to the contract and each side's lawyer go through every clause and iron them out before the contracts are executed. next question please.
  18. i thought we were supposed to be cordial in this forum. perhaps you need to temper your perception of me as an american and i should be cognizant of the possibility that not everyone i talk to is american and adjust my demeanor, which may come across as condescending, accordingly. i can do that because i do travel quite a bit and have been to africa, south america, and asia which country do you come from? it's not called profit and greed here in america, it's called economic viability american corporations do not start up unless they are economically viable business enterprises exxonmobil's net margin is only 5% a kolkata street vendor can make 20% profit selling puri and dosai snacks.
  19. not so quick. if you want fiscal control, you must downsize your community to a controllable level you can't have your cake and eat it too. there will be issues but you must decide which are things you want to give up. that won't be necessary we maintain the same federal reserve system you see a problem with that? if you want standardization, others will have to give up their personal freedoms are you pro-life? gay? like marijuana? we will just have to learn to co-operate and live together without conflict otherwise, it's back in the federal pentitentiary with an ass as ceo and a 17 trillion dollar debt you are arguing for a road to where we are right now i am a big fan of whatever works for your information, the federal government has grown way beyond its role as spelled out in the constitution. if we trim it back the way i propose it will be in accord with the intent and spirit of the constitution and abolish the beast that piled up that 17 trillion dollar debt
  20. the usa control no other nation except through free market forces. america's resources are its creativity and entrepreneurial drive it produces things that the whole world likes it's america, and not china, that exports more by far america's foreign policy is totally unnecessary and self-defeating america was never suited to play world leader. because she was incapable of articulating a coherent vision for world rule. it's been a mess think global, pal the paradigm has changed american business has gone global america's middle class is now in china and wherever they may be american's had better buck up life is going to get faster and harder they can't hide behind social programs anymore because there are no more borders to protect them
  21. i'm actually illiterate like most folks here dropped out of college like steve jobs and bill gates
  22. oh, a compardre am glad you are not bullheaded a lot will have to find real jobs and their ridiculous pensions need to be scrapped the military could be assigned all kinds of cross-border duties so as to help in times of natural disasters border patrol is appropriate don't forget that each state's governmental set-up mirrors the federal government my proposal practically scraps the federal government as such the congress in washington has no role and should be scraped too if you look at the world which is a grouping of nations america should function as a grouping of states each country is like a us state there is no world government what need is there for a national congress for the usa? why? why can't each arizonian or new yorker accepts the decision of its own state supreme court as final? every state will have its own way of life if folks in oregon want to have same sex marriage, it's their business if folks in utah don't want abortion, it's their business. if folks in wyoming want guns, it's their business. if folks in new york want multi-culturalism, it's their business. let no one mess with his neighbor's house. switzerland is kind of neat in that way.
  23. may i ask for a reality check? everybody is sounding off like world class experts never mind the professional job experience is there anybody here with an mba in economics even? just asking
  24. yes, but your chart showing exponential debt growth is misleading on two counts, one, if you stretch out the horizontal axis and compress the vertical axis, the debt growth rate wouldn't look as scary, and two, you have not included in your graph the growth of the us economy over the years percentage of debt to gdp gives a balanced view because it shows how much you owe in relation to your income. that's how your bank assesses your credit rating finally, you compare how you're doing with the rest of the kids on the block to see how they stack up against you. so that when the debt collecting thug comes a'calling you know he's going to cut them up first while you skip out the backdoor to live another day
