  1. aghartaI have found coconut and coconut oil to be amazingly good for teeth, both to whiten and strengthen teeth. I have also read that brushing with powdered cayenne pepper will regenerate gun tissue. IIRC, I tried this about 2 years ago and it worked

I use olive and coconut oil that are not too pungent, in a 1:1 ratio as a CF margarine.

I have been using Omega Nutrition Organic VCO. I absolutely love its clarity and richness, but I really hate the price on it ($13-$15 per oz) and also that it's packaged in plastic. While I don't mind paying GOOD money for a good product, I've been looking into some others types.

Spectrum is okay and it's about $6 per pint.

Garden of Life is the same price, but it comes in glass. I don't know if you can get such a decent VCO for less than that.

Nutiva has a beautifully crystalline appearance, which most people find desirable.

If you are really wanting bulk, I came across this excellent find with mountainroseherbs.com (no financial affinity) that sell CO for only $28 a gallon when alot of places charge 50 bucks for junk.

but I don't think I'd ever be able to use the cayenne ... LMAO

It already causes my throat to swell shut ... I have to take ice cubes and force them against my throat to prevent asphyxiation.

  2. very kewl, reminds me of another site in alot of ways ... format, artwork, etc

  3. Summer Solstice is lots of fun. I always get TONS of energy this time of year. (And almost ALWAYS NEED it, too, lol)

When it comes to the Sabbats, esp. Solstices, I make sure to switch out my seasonal eating habits with all the things on the raw intake. (mostly blends and chopped salads of all kinds)

Anything specific that your bodies have been calling for during this season ??

  4. Darn it !!!

And this one was pretty neat, too ...

don't know why it's not working right ... *scratches her head*

    any ideas, Sean ?

I copied it right from Yahoo! News ... if that helps.

Maybe you have to be in Yahoo somewhere.

Michael - it mentions the use of "whipworm treatments"

below is the entire article :

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The upside of Linda Mansfield's research is that it may lead to a new treatment for inflammatory bowel disease. The downside is that it would involve swallowing worm eggs. Mansfield is a professor of microbiology at Michigan State University who specializes in the study of parasites.

She's also one of several researchers around the country looking at the use of threadlike intestinal parasites called whipworms to treat the disease, which can cause diarrhea, painful cramps and even intestinal bleeding.

"It's extremely debilitating," Mansfield told the Lansing State Journal for a story Friday. "People talk about having 256 bouts of diarrhea a year when they have this disease. It gets to the level where some of them are not able to work."

Inflammatory bowel disease, the most common forms of which are Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, is a condition that is virtually unknown in the developing world. But it is becoming increasingly common in industrialized countries.

Researchers have put forward several explanations for that, among them diets high in fat and refined foods. But another possible cause, Mansfield said, is increasing levels of hygiene.

Portions of the immune system actually require periodic infections in order to develop properly. Some exposure to dirt, bacteria and even worms can be beneficial.

"By living in an ultra-clean environment," Mansfield said, "we're removing some of the things that helped to educate our immune system."

Mansfield said it's possible that the human immune system developed in a way that's reliant, to some degree, on the presence of parasitic worms.

She wasn't the first to hit on that idea. A research team at the University of Iowa already has tried treating human patients with a whipworm egg and Gatorade cocktail. Their results were promising.

David Elliott was a member of that team.

"There are probably individuals in the population who, back when worms were prevalent, were the healthiest because their immune systems could fight off all sorts of things," he said. "When worms are removed, their immune systems become unbridled, and they move on to develop disease."

Mansfield came to the topic from an animal angle.

More than a decade ago, she began studying whipworm infections in pigs, initially trying to develop a vaccine against the parasites.

But one of the things she noticed along the way was that whipworm infections produced a strong anti-inflammatory immune response.

When given to patients with inflammatory bowel disease, the worms can help to counteract the inflammation and "actually reset the immune system to be in better balance," Mansfield said.

Further, pig whipworms are relatively safe. Most people will expel them in a matter of weeks and, if that doesn't happen, they can be eliminated with anti-worm drugs.

That's promising, if a little unpleasant, for people like Linda Rockey.

The Mason woman has suffered from Crohn's disease for more than 30 years. Having tried most conventional treatments, she said she's "right at the end of the rope."

If she had no other alternatives, she said, "if they said. `This is it. You eat these worms,' I would do it. At some point, you're willing to try anything."

The whipworm treatment still needs to undergo further testing before it can be approved by the FDA.

But of course. Should we expect anything else of such ? :)

  5. I'm excited to live.

    I'm excited to die.

I try not to overthink, theorize, and speculate. (Although at times this can be entertaining and educative).

I just try to remember applying appreciation to everything in between ...

lessons come to one from everything, and in my experience overthinking it causes hesitation.

love that old saying - "Live and let live, love and let love, flower and fade, and follow the natural curve, which moves on ... endless"

  6. I think the best 'gurus' are the unknown guys and gals - ones that have no big 'message' that is so good for marketing, they're the ones that make waves on a small, personal level... once a guru starts communicating through books, videos, cds etc they lose some aspect of their ability to help transform others... once they start advertising and trying to appeal to our illusions they re-inforce the very aspect they are trying to transform. I'm not saying that all masters with marketing campaigns and big, shiny, sexy messages cant help people... it's just that you cant judge whether they are effective or not.

    Absolutely positively 100% on-target :D

Success can be obtained upon millions of ways. It's just a matter of perspective that gets you there.

  7. neimad oat milk is ok, but again it's a highly processed food..... but as always, do what feels right by you and don't feel like you have to change yourself for my benefit

personally i never liked the taste of soy milk and it felt wrong to drink it. i liked rice milk.... but now i drink raw biodynamic buttmilk.... yummy i love the sour taste.

Did you just say "buttmilk" ???:lol:

I've always drank soy milk, because of lactose intolerance. .. but it's still hardly ever.

But you're right about the carob rice dream ...

  8. neimad - women are incredibly erratic and even destructive by nature..... we need to be a willow of strength (ability to take the strongest buffering of a storm and bend without breaking) as well as nurturing and supportive.

hah. damn you women want a lot!!

That's right, neimad. And most the time, if you do this long enough . . . we are worth it, too.

Besides, I've seen this exact same thing your speaking of in reversed roles (man and woman being the at the other end of the spectrum)

There's plenty of women in my life that deserve great thanks for their lessons, here I'll speak of the easiest :

My spiritual teacher of early life - constantly reminding of moralities and how savage that we are without them, what's in our power of humanity, being cheerful and strong in the times of stresses, not dwelling on or worrying about what our lives will be after death, comforting me when there was no other consolation to be found, but mostly emphasized being strong; not to fear in concepts like death, poverty, slavery, illness, solitude, danger ... because it is more humiliating and unworthy than worth giving our souls to - for you cannot be prepared to conquer fear if you've not learned, read or thought for anything before in the peaceful moments of your life when things were in balance and normality. You cannot expect them to remain there eternally, but you can do your best to adapt in situations that throw you out of this balance, certainly we are innate with amazing capabilities yet unknown to our higher selves and thinking. If you give in to fear and worry in those moments, you've drawn the conclusion for absolutely nothing about the value of life and the naturalness of death and the change of universal energies. A person who is filled with fear generally cheats life, makes excuses, dodges responsibilities, etc. ... and have not prepared theirself with a strong, true spirit for death and the exciting things to come in the following centuries ...

My best friend passed on in early life :

[she'd been told of a terminal disease (Leukemia) at the age of 15, and passing at age 17]

Larger ones, it seems, in a special friend, a beautiful young lady with an unending smile through her tremendous pain -

something more valuable than knowledge and intelligence, more precious than wisdom and maybe even perhaps a good heart or goodness itself. A kind of tact that touched on the highest acceptance of human accomplishment, a gentleness that was more invisible, colorless yet essential - warning you what is too much and too little, what's allowed and what is going too far, and the dynamic importance of the gentleness of silence. In these times of quiet where the normal conditioned human feels boredom, you should be doing of hundreds of things to fill your thought, intent, and growth within the web of the vast universe.

There are little who can do these; pure and sincere goodness - conquering selfishness, despair, impatience, the many daemons that are mere reflections of ourselves . ..

I spoke with her nearly every night in her 1 1/2 years of life living in a hospital, and we always spoke of something different, her listening very sharp, intent, undying... her example was incredible in that she'd had incredibly intense pain inside that she always supressed, and through her tensions and worry she was giving me this shining smiling face with no harbored feelings of resentment (for my health) or anger. She showed me the kind of patience that any human should ever dream of having. It's an ability we grab hold of at the hardest of effort because the most secret instincts of our being revolt because our time is measured ... yet it is a painfully important duty in regards to our life's work, without it there is no true creation on our part. She'd told me one night when on the subject, (I was inquiring about how she held her pain in) "being patient you often become similar to the greatness of nature and the universe" ... sadly, at that age, I'd not taken the statement fully into assessment. A shame. It's connontations are simple and profound and lend tons of thoughtful insight.

Tact, gentleness, sincerety, genuinity, patience ... she'd instilled these in me with an almost subconscious manner, yet right before my eyes, I could see how they'd come to be ...

  10. Mmm . . . coconut oil and Patchouli . *lost in thought*

SEAN She's all about roses, she loves rose ice cream too ... they sell it at Indian restaurants. Really strange, it tastes like you are eating a rose and fills up your sinuses with rose aroma.

You know, that Republic of Tea's version of Rose Petal tea (using Assam Black leaves as a base) is pretty darn tasty, have either of you tried it ?

  11. Yes, ya'll get disturbing from time to time, but we all like it, secretly on the inside...

When I was out supporting the corporate world and being on time for 'the man' I used these disposable wetnaps of my own invention. Pretty simple and easy to implement, really -

heat a half-cup water to a boil, strain through some lavender, rose, and sandalwood chips (one varied oil substitutions work well, too) into a bowl and let cool, and I add these small square cut recycled paper cloths in half size ziplocks with a small amount of the liquid and when I went to bathroom breaks at points during the day I'd wipe my neck, armpits, where I'd get really sweaty and not only did it feel refreshing but it helped combat any odors - though I can't say I've used deodorant in the last 5 years + . . . never really had a problem since treating my body MUCH, MUCH better nutritionally what ever it is in the diet, it works well, I suppose ... just keep those wetnaps handy in the small cooler chest, among arnica gel, root salves, aloe, tea tree & eucalyptus mud, lava compote, and other stuff that keeps better cool and gets used enough to have around consistently.

  12. Take the quiz:

What kind of eyes do you have? (with pictures)

    res3.jpg

    Green

You have green eyes. Green is the color of balance. Your eyes symbolize your ever need to learn. Green brings peace and harmony into our lives, as you may be a very optimistic person. At times you may be placid, lethargic, lazy, and slow, to the point of becoming moody and depressed. You may also be apathetic and have a fear rejection. Do not feel bad though, for what you may lack, you can in your ability to heal and bring hope to people. Some words to describe you: growth, fertility, harmony, healing, refreshing, peaceful, contentment, satisfaction, confidence, prosperous, hopeful, lucky, and beautiful.

  13. Great one, Pietro !

My philosophy is that kids are fully realized masters and it is the rules and teachings of parents, teachers, society, etc that finally 'civilizes' them and snuffs their amazing creativity, energy, and joy.

As such, my parenting philosophy is to stay out of their way as much as possible. Keep as few rules as possible, discipline them and be negative towards them as little as possible, etc. Kids are too enlightened to cling to beliefs, anyways.

    -YODA

Right on. During my childhood my parents made sure I'd discovered everything on my own and did not forbade much. Guidance and teachings were not highly emphasized, either. If I'd wanted deeper understanding of my interests, I was required to search out for them. I think mostly for a "leading of example" in personal strength and ambitious nature. They protected me in a way that I never saw or felt barriers...they progressed in time as I, on a special kind of supportive way in standby, and got closer to each other.

The way was not always perfect, but a part of me wants to fulfill what they've always seen in me even when I hadn't seen it yet, and even at the times when we were all uncertain on personal terms.

On the note about kids being indigo or supernovas of purity :

It is a special kind of strength in wisdom, there is in them a more simple and pure way of something with the morsels of it the many allegedly distinguished clever adults have filled millions of books over the centuries. They have this universal connection with a huge unknown energysource. Surely we've gained certain weaknesses since then ... or at least, until they are recognized and maybe addressed to some degree.

With my neice I've always challenged her questions with more questions...getting her own feelings and intention out in front of her thinking...hence supporting definite personal choice and self realization. She's done some pretty impressive things, and has a good head on her shoulders. Which would be nice to think that everyone can tap into this with ease...

Also..kids need love and they need to play...

And adults also need love and need to play....

A sense of playfullness and not taking things so seriously is I think essential in early years. Discipline and hard work can come later if they want to become the next President or brain surgeon...

    -CAM

Shouldn't we all retain that youthful heart ? It's very hard to rediscover and absorb after you've lost it - passed into the ever changing, ever evolving recesses of your being. Some have even wished that they could "bottle the stuff" :P

We always consider at some point in time on being back in that home, the warmth and love of the state where the sun was cradling and nurturing us. So the desire to get back to our center where nothing moves - the powerful seed of the hurricane's spiral or the core of the sphere we dwell upon doesn't move in that same kind of way becomes present.

If one would experience and accept all the contradictions, ambivalencies and polivalencies, and don't get thrown off and still dare to joyfully play with the world, then one would have possibly tapped into their higher self and that of the cosmos...simple being is laced with surreal but very hidden intricacies.

may the careful interplay between listening, heart, instinct, attention, and intellect build up the balance between the everyday order and the exceptional moments of each and every one,

    Are you open to spirituality?

This is I think a funny question (however relevant) for the test, because if you are really not, then you wouldn't be taking the test in the first place

  15. Definetly a great choice for those with desires to conserve energy for their practice.

It takes a long time for your body to break down certain foods.

Raw diets can spike your energetic levels through the roof

Just be careful not to use too much carrot and beet juices - it's not too much of a big deal, although they are very sweet and tasty, they WILL raise your blood sugar and can sometimes give bad cases of diarreeeee lol
