  1. *remembers a few good conversations with great company at a little place with Aventinus & steamed oysters by the bowl*

Told ya they were good, man !!

Glad to see interest in playing some of their stuff, esp. 'subdivisions'

I'd also recommend 'nobody's hero', 'as far as the eye can see', & 'finding my way'

Of course, I could recommend all day until my lips fall off, there's so much material from them that is just incredible ... listening to them brings a flood of very fond memories through, washing away some of the bad taste in my mouth that I get from just saying the names of some of the new artists that abound the radiowaves now, lol

    There. I've owned up. :P

Anyway, don't put too much worry into feeling old, dear friend. Just consider yourself a very fine wine.

Perhaps soon you shall become anxious of the many wonderful things that are to come.

(and no cracks on how I just think this way because of my youthful age) :)

    Kind regards,

    Michelle.

  2. That's funny, I do not remember Max ever having a goatee. Esp. now.

    Quick edit:

forgot to say, isn't PS3 sold out ??

People were killing each other in parking lots to obtain this console. Sounds too crazy for me.

Plus you have to buy all new games for it. Kinda pricey.

Wii may not be a good choice for you if you are going to be "laid up" ... it involves lots of body movement coordination for control of your character in the games.

I'd go with good ol' XBox 360, a reasonable choice for use with all the older games + reliability and ease.

  3. $.02 suggestion :)

Primordial Chi Kung - Michael Winn

This form has been a real momentum-starter for my mother, as surprised as it has made me ...

and since you're fairly new and may not have read what little I've posted on it ...

basically, at the end months of last year my mother hit some health issues from work conditions. She dropped dead, was revived, and in ICU for over a month, and recovered, returned home ... bounced back with haste & vigor !! Since then there have been DRASTIC (and profoundly in the interest of better health & life enjoyment) changes in the everyday moments of her living experience.

We were heading back home one morning from a jog and I'd mentioned it during the trail and as we got to the backyard I demonstrated it also. At that moment she just had to try her hand at it. And now she does it more than I'd ever imagined she would ever do (which I also hit the obstruction of accepting that circumstance would make this so) ... so what I'm saying is that ultimately this is simple, subtle, and you don't want to aim for the ones that are complicated and elaborately advanced until she starts understanding the language of the world you are trying to introduce her to ... yet with steady attention to anything that resonates within you like these kinds of forms and it just kind of starts clicking in as innate and you will not have to worry about memorizing stances or moves and trying constantly to doing them perfectly right or making sure that you don't look ridiculous ... these thoughts only obstruct your progress and make blocks to the connections with the gentle loving energies running through your body and senses. Very exciting to get to the point where you move to the dance like second nature without care to effects such as conflicting thought or being observed among many things.

  4. On the other hand, I have a Libertarian acquaintance who did not pay taxes for about 10 years or so. She had some tough times when the IRS came in and tried to attach everything, etc. However, the IRS lost in court on criminal charges and then also lost the civil case that they brought and had to give it all back - including her commercial pilot's license that was cancelled when the they came after her.

I've never had any desire at all to be a test case and so have continued to make sure that I pay my protection money - er, "fair share" - on a regular basis.

    Charlie

It's good to hear that they don't get em all, Charlie !!

I'm very glad that your friend did not have to eternally embrace (and be forced to accept) the victimization possibilities from their hounding & harassing intrusions.

But I agree with you completely, and will also continue to pay them,

    *sighs heavily* ...

even though I do now have my own business, and self-employed endeavors.

    *nonchalant grin*

  5. Hey, Max

You know how that story went with my stepfather a few years ago when situation had arisen because he has not paid his income tax for the previous 10 + years ...

two full size boats, one truck, one camper, and a huge collection of rifles were then 'taken' from uncle sam's mafia of upstanding enforcements with punishment of imprisonment, submission or death if any resistent obstruction were placed in defense.

He then went to court a month later for it and served prison time for a year and a half because the propery they'd taken suggestively wasn't enough to cover what was owed.

Perhaps I should have mentioned to him that he could have filed lawsuit againt government officals because of this little glitch in law statement which would have offered him justification ?

Technicalities have been the main reason why I have lost some of my confidence in 'reason'.

Isn't that what scientists said differed us from animals decades ago ? ;)

  6. I'm excited to see all of the interest in natural means of sustenance. :D

I also second Treena on all of the marvelous suggestions pointed out.

One thing that comes to mind here, that I can add ... have you considered utilizing a compost bin?

It's not always as hard as it appears. You can even build your own out of scrap wood, you don't have to fork out tons of dough and get high tech state of the art bins. I'm a big fan of simpler is better.

From the few I've used, I have found that it is best to NOT put alot of unnatural things in them that you would not personally normally consume. Of course, there are exceptions - like cardboard, grasses, dead plants, parts of vegetables you chop off before using, and bones, with occasional blending of soil, livestock feces & hay. Not so good - chemicals, plastic wrappers, conventional animal feces (cats, dogs, birds, fish, etc), waxes/greases, cans, etc. I'm sure there are a few members on this board that can expound further on this if so desired.

Of course, checking out more resources on the web with a search can also always lend helpful and diverse insight.

  7. Grand Trinity - WATCHING TELEVISION IS HYPONOSIS. This is why they call it "programming"!!!

Seriously! My parents are addicted to TV. I feel really bad about it becuase as a child, I was addicted and they told me not to watch so much. Now, I try to tell my parents but dont want to hurt their feelings. Instead, I try to tell them to study qigong. laugh.gif

    what a life!!!!!!!!

After my mother had gotten out of ICU (she was in there for 27 days) she had a serious uphill of healing to get done. My whole family have been increasingly attaching themselves to television programs like CNN (major brainwashing there, lol) and the new dramas such as Nip Tuck and Lost, just a crazy amount of "tuning in" going on in the wrong places, hahahah .... on top of that everyone in my mother's household (5 adults) were heavy smokers.

Not only did she stop smoking cold turkey, but they generally respect her and do it outside, and ALSO she's joined me for regiments of qigong in all sorts of forms. She took on learning it easily and smoothly, and has told me that its done amazing things for her. We also started running, and working each other chiropractically. It's a good system going on !!

According to her last comments in conversation, she doesn't miss her old habits at all ....

still lots of work to do !!! I know what kind of life work you are talkin about, GT !!! My mother has been doing this with me, despite all the ignorant and snide comments the rest of the family make about it ... (and it can get downright mean, indeedy) but the beauty of the work is that you learn to take that all in stride ...

    *grins nonchalantly*

  8. All interesting thoughts, GT.

I'd always found it noticable how much better I dance at places like bonfires, and not techno/hippie or hard rock clubs/concerts, or at family reunion 50's & 60's dance hours instead of places with too much scattered & clustered energies. Makes perfect sense though, with dance having an equal importance of focus & ease at what you enjoy.

All around no matter where you go there are many opportunities for dancing in your own enjoyment.

Question is, how much of your life are you jovial enough about to just let yourself be swept by its choreographical play ? The fun thing I've realized is that there's always time, when you melt away all the hardened senses and somber obstacles of disconnection with true inner natures. You just pluck your times of preference whenever needed or desired.

 'ing thoughts of memories dancing ...

 'ing so much that it has been and IS part of my daily routine.

Great for exercise & loosenin' up yer goose.

  9. I was told slitting send one into a peaceful dream state

but I'll take your word for it.

I've also heard this ... from my adopted sister some years ago, who had slit her wrists 4 times.

She'd said it was not painful at all, and she'd just drifted to sleep ...

Alas, her 4th was the final time and how she'd met her end.

    (or should I say beginning?)

  10. As I've mentioned a long time ago on here ... my uncle has four bands,

this being on of them, a Cincinnati local ... "The Psychodots"

This year their engineer has posted the clips on YouTube for veiwing pleasure.

About one month later the Ken "Kengineer" Latchey has passed away & is hugely missed and remembered.

I know many of you are YouTubians !!! So this shouldn't take long ...

    "Not a pretty face"

    "Out of my hands"

The man (Bob Nyswonger) on the left with the white bass guitar is my uncle.

The lead singer of the Dots - Rob Fetters, showing his guitarslinging style at Kustom Studios:

Ahhhh, yes ... I'd forgotten to mention, that the lead guitarist here, Adrian Belew, was ALSO the talented guitarist for the band King Krimson circa 1980's. He's also been involved largely with THE TALKING HEADS band.

you can check out Adrian lead singing here with King Krimson :

    Adrian - HOLY

and if THAT isn't enough ... how about right alongside David Bowie ??

or you can do a search on the tube with his name, there's tons of stuff.

  11. Peregrino: We also discussed some vids by Stephane's teacher, Steve Piccus, who apparently demonstrates an even more thorough massage method. Sean also suggested that any interested Tao Bums could chip in for a communal purchase of the video Deep Tissue Massage and Myofascial Release.

    Sean:

I'm willing to chip in $50 but I have to straighten out my finances first. Maybe around Christmas time?

You can definetly count me in for contribution around Xmas time as well, $50 or so. I've got national licensing but am always glad for resources like this to refresh technique & learn others, there are sooo many!! Another I was considering was Thai techniques. Most excellent !!

  12. *3 times a year, for 10 days. I'm hoping to expand them to 12 ... but we'll see.

Only water & raw restricted juices during them.

Like the Myths, I also keep it light before and afterhand so as not to bloat or create any unpleasantness.

Used to be hard to do, starting out, but gets smoother & easier cumulatively.
