  1. Sean, would you paste the youtube URL underneath please, the sound cuts off on me before getting half way and I can no longer hear it all the way to the end. No fair!
  2. Global Warming: The Cold, Hard Facts?

I could say the same in regards to respecting the article in the sense of structure: I feel that the first sentence should induce either a strong suggestive intrigue, or a very powerful statement that draws the reader to continue on. This one didn't do it for me. That paired with weak support to the subtopics that followed didn't draw my current mindset away even just a little. I do look at articles from a less subjective stance and give them a chance to 'make sense', or be more in alignment with the results of my own form of critical thinking, for lack of a better description. Potentially constructive thread though. The thinking and communication it inspires is definetly full of substance.
  3. *~ FAQ and Homepage for this scentsational technology ~* (quite entertaining) The idea of this site was inspired by recent chapters in my college course textbook. It was like a trainwreck. I had to go and get a look-see at this site. There is talk somewhere on the site for developments on making this a tasting experience, as well. I am intrigued, yet horrorfied in the same moment on contemplating the possibilities. Sorry, I guess strange is what I know most. *~ list of ingredients ~* This list made my eyes do the bulging pop-out thing.

Oh, heck with it !! I know this is veering off course, but have to share this. When I heard this, I thought it was beautiful, and apparently this was the second composed creation of a 10-year old boy. Whether it really is or not, it's a great piano piece. If you like piano, check it out. I close my eyes and take it in. Fan-freakin-tastic. His first composition was at age 9, but wasn't as good as the one above. Rosita

Chris, I liked the music here, it was really nice. But I am also pretty big on Tool, as well. Amazing sound for one one of many moods. I hardly ever watched any music videos in my life. There are generally too fuddy-duddy for me. Thanks for putting this up, though. Here's an interesting one with fantasy and outer space photos in a slide show fashion set to some nice music. This one is much more classic: -"From the computer animation odyssey The Gate To The Mind's Eye"
  9. I did not mean disappear in the literal sense. "Leave society" is more what is meant here. I'm still trying to find the disagreement here. It just seems like a different perspective to me, and one that we will most likely not come into common ground with because the scientist mentality is not something that I've ever enjoyed embracing. The last sentence here struck me as odd, in my statements I'd said nothing of faith and closed-mindedness. But I do agree, that "all things remain possible until proven otherwise", but from your statements thusfar this strikes as contradictory. I know you are starving for the proof and evidence but I regretfully say now that I cannot provide what you are looking for. How do you know that life would not be able to exist without predictability ?? What of 'adaptation' ?? Proof. Qualification. Science. Not exactly my favorite words. *sighs* Seems this is where I withdraw from here ... until the next time an inspiration occurs where I feel like sharing what's on the mind. It just seems like a big headache when technicalities come into play ... forgive me but I just haven't the energy for this these days ... But I will never stop listening and allowing other points of view in ... what would be the point of learning had one ever dared ?? *psssst, Peter, I don't like the edit thing's overuse either ... but what can ya do ??*

    Absolutely!

Known, of course - according to Guinness Book of World records
  12. First, I want to make clear that I do not let emotional envolvement cut me off from reasoning when it comes to subjects such as this. I like to remain receptive as an active listener and stay open to ideas that differ from any that I may have. There are some great points here on each side of the spectrum and I'm pleased to see that it has continued as constructive with very minimal flaming. Always in the world there have been individuals who have disappeared unnoticed, who were determined to reconstruct their human bodies and to find their way to the realm of permanence, from which they departed to come into this world of mankind. Each such one knew that the weight of the world's thought would hinder the work. By the "world's thought" is meant the mass of people, who ridicule or distrust any innovation for improvement until the method advocated is proven to be true. I agree with you somewhat about critical thinking, yet I feel at times it gets in the way of open understanding with certain things of the world. In a sense it creates a barrier in the form of attachment, to one's own thinking and desires. With understanding, you are perceiving and feeling what things are of themselves, what their relations are, and comprehending why they are so and are so related. Critical thinking consist of asking the questions that effort to reach your own personal decisions about the worth of what you are experiencing and learning. With this in mind, the large part of the population leans toward weak-sense critical thinking, in which the aim is to reject or annihilate opinions/reasoning/understanding that differs from that of your own. They seek triumph and think themselves superior over all who disagree, which this becomes their uppermost objective. The stronger-sense critical thinking is ideal here, where one is constantly evaluating their initial feelings and desires to blend them when presented with new ideas or experiences, understanding through reflection to protect from deception and congruence with the idealistic views of society in the "sheep-mentality" of conformity. I like to think of reality in two main forms: relative reality in which the continuity of facts or things as their relation to each other, in the state and on the plane on which they are observed. Ultimate reality as consciousness, changeless and absolute; the presence of it through each and every unit and intelligence throughout time and space in the eternal, during the entirety of the continuity of its constant progress through ever higher degrees in being conscious until it is one with and as consciousness. The problem with blending assemblages is that the conscious light becomes fogged and obscured by thoughts when feeling and desire try to think, so the human being sees things as it wants to see them, or in a modified degree of what is real or what is truth. Super-powers are relative to each individual as a perception of things that differ with the appreciation in such things of the universe. What may be incredible or greater in scope from what is natural to one being is different from what another perceives as superior to human aptitude. Here is a shining example to ponder which most find as common knowledge, but never take into consideration how amazing the creation of the human body is. It is organized from the very simple microscopic atom to the complex human organism consisting of eleven organ systems, with trillions of microscopic parts all working to the common goal of human function on a daily basis for many decades. And what about the hundreds of homeostatic mechanisms whose purpose are to regulate the internal conditions of your body when external conditions change? I'm sure that this has been contemplated in the slightest form with any who are serious about alchemical practice. There is a familiarity that cannot be described when you are connecting yourself with the processes that abound inside the body systems - things like temperature control, blood sugar balance, water balance, blood pressure regulation, and plasma/sodium levels. Loving intent and smiling energy cradle them as they are maintained, perhaps the nervous system carrying the messages that there is an overspill of understanding and intention that carry them on the way, making this connection with the being from the inside out. *phew* ... I'll tackle lucid dreaming, memory, mind-body and feeling-desire after I've contemplated them some more. For now, I feel this is enough ... and I'm sure to hear from some (I have a certain few in mind who I suspect will have something to say) in regards to this, perhaps. Kind regards, Michelle THTT
  13. I'm new here...hi!

    Your welcome.
  14. Hi, new tao bum here

Always walking, age matters much with very little. Right now cheese and wine come to mind for examples. Right now it is impressive to find you here at such a young age. You are thinking and feeling beyond the scope of the small worlds most teens build around themselves, most often consisting of self-interest and materialism. The path of intelligence is a very abstract road. Nearly all want to walk it, and end up lost somewhere in the middle ... When I realized it wasn't so important to focus on so much, other paths opened. Now I just want to be receptive to them all. lino, You gotta get out there and find out what you care about to make connections with all that is. Your apathetic nature most likely is the mirrored pattern of the environment around you ... try stepping out of it somehow into places where you may find something that resonates within your heavenly heart. Whatever you choose, I hope that it opens you to life and you find yourself a shining part of it. -Michelle THTT
  15. I'm new here...hi!

As usual, I find great enjoyment in your post. These words of nature flow through you with a perfect balance of bluntness and eloquence. Always Walking, welcome to a place that is not so judgemental (at least, if only for the sake of play at times). I'd say that you have more patience than I do, (which does say a lot, if you were to know me well) with your efforts of still trying to communicate with those of Christianity running coursely through their veins. I hope you find many things to ponder and help you along your way ... -Michelle THTT
  16. Sean Denty poll

First of all, as interesting as this thread has been ... like many others I see lately, I must admit that it irks me just a tad that for the sake of 'traffic' it gets put in here when it should be in off topic. *sighs at her nit-picking* - now, with that said ... Is there really so few of us 'Tao Bumesses' ?? My goodness gracious. Ahh yes, don't forget about Taomeow ! I'm not so sure I'd be that much of an amusing addition, a celibate lady to a sexy party ? Perhaps I could just don my old work outfits just for fun ... *snickers with a sly grin*
  17. Lucid Dreaming techniques

How incredible this struck me, to read of this as resolving the issue with your father. It seems as if I'd used this same or horizontally fashioned approach to do the same with my stepfather, a couple of years ago. After I'd had a very detailed series of issues and then release of all the tensions in a dream pertaining to the on-going conflict that we've had with each other, his whole attitude was completely different in normal life. He'd somehow calmed down, become more docile and silent ... which most of the family connected with his growing old but the timing was just eerie. Also, I will add that my first Native American shamanic spiritual teacher contacts me in a way similar to the way that yours visits you as well. It's a long and strange story, but to keep it simple she has a way of showing up when things are at their most dire or blissful ... it's all relative to situations and is not very common.
  18. MYSPACE

Are you talking about "Agni's" myspace site, where he has the awesome flash with the OM on hand? That was a rockin' space. I myself don't dig myspace that much. I use other ones.
  19. What computer games do you play?

I have played 'Mage: the ascension', and must say, I do like the storytelling RPG's, but not too many people will join a group for them, sadly ... must be a lack of imagination or creative mind. Haven't heard of Nobility, which is kind of odd ... It's very interesting that you mention this ... I had a similar conversation with Gygax during the last 'Origins' convention. He was doing some product signing and photos with drawing winners at the store booths, and luckily, our store was fortunate enough to have him (if only for 4 hours), because of it being a new one and our first presence at the 'con representing a store. (Underground Minirealm @ Gamers Portal) He IS a big time fan of mythology and deitites, and has some really awesome ideas going on for Spring 2007, as far a card games, board games, and RPG based-play goes. There's going to be expansions out the wazoo in collaboration with other creator types. They are brining their head together and combining companies because the gaming world has been slowing down progressively. I told him it's because things are just getting so expensive, if they would just tone it down a bit maybe people would start coming back. From what I could tell he understood but don't know if it's going to make much of a difference. It was just really kewl to get in on some insights as to what will be coming out, and talking to him was quite entertaining. In fact, in many ways he reminds me alot of Plato, with his energy soaring, that specific kind of laid back yet sharp humor, and seeming so youthful in his mannerisms. Ah, well ... for the time being had to set aside the store endeavors and follow another path ...
  20. What computer games do you play?

I've ran some pretty crazy RPG's myself ... Quite often it's D&D, sometimes Star Wars, sometimes Shadowrun. And on the rare occasion I'll get a group that wants to play some Cyberpunk or World of Darkness (which is werewolves, vampires, & spirithunters) ... You can map out the game's course, but the players always get into craziness along the way ...
  21. falling away

You can definetly tell that a kind of sentience speaks through him, very delightful energy with a whisper that draws you close to listen. Yet somehow I also get a sense that as he is speaking, he is still trying to collect understanding from these words ... or at least trying to find the best way to reiterate them. My favorite one on youtube has to be "welcome to reality" but is nearly ten minutes and takes a bit of time to load.
  22. Favorite comedians?

Are there midget ninjas ?? Ninja dogs Hope you'll dig these as much as I did !!
  23. An intro from Mal

There are some photos in the Gallery section, that you two may enjoy, that were submitted by Sean and Lezlie, in relation to these exercises. Also, there are some in Plato's webpage that you may find helpful and interesting ... which hopefully someone can stick in here because I don't have it at the moment, my computer was recently wiped because of spamming viruses. Unfortunately, I'm still using a dinosaur computer until next week. Then I will have brand new whipper snapper of a machine. Yay!
  24. Happy birthday IanB!

Hope it has been a fruitful year for you on the way. Ah, heck with it, while your are here ... I've been meaning to ask, long ago ... what is that thing the man in your avatar is holding ? Cheers! also, sent a request to your messenger.
  25. Seeking Personal advice

I've only been out of high school about 9 years myself, but started college courses in November of last year. It is an attempt to relieving some of the financial problems I've had all of my life, and breaking from the stagnant pattern of my family in regards to ambition and ways of living. Being otherwise 'fulfilled' and 'content' with the inner workings of my life have not been too challenging. I carry a constant sunny disposition nearly in an innate fashion, it seems. But the years of living in a 'starving artist' kind of way in regards to writing and the arts have worn kinda thin with me. Now, with a felony on my record the college was more like a means to 'buffer' it so that I can find a decent enough job on the market that I can carry with me no matter what state (or country, which is a near possibility) I'm living in, and that I can comfortably supplement the continuation of my traditions/regimens/hobbies/passions. Working through tough times give you the fruits of unimaginable heights. But sometimes they are so subtle, there are some who do not even notice that they are there. Also you must be careful to find a way to balance out your being so that the stress and pressure do not wear you down to a point that will be too difficult to repair. Find something you love to do, and get to it at any free moment. Try hard not to sacrifice it entirely. This can be revealed early on, or may take several years to discover. The delight is in making that discovery, and nurturing it whenever possible. Hope this is helpful, and that you find a way to release your stresses. Here you have found yourself in good company, I imagine. -Michelle THTT
