Grandmaster Yuanming Zhang Coming To Boston

Recommended Posts

If anyone would like to join for semi-private lessons...

This guy is the real deal Qi Gong Grand Master, he was trained from the age of three, and is from the line of Lao Tzu, Yellow Emporer and Chang Sang Feng. Here is a message from Dee, the student who is hosting the teacher:

Hi,

I've been fortunate to have studied with Grandmaster Yuanming Zhang for the past five years, and I'm pleased to announce that he is coming to Boston again to teach, the weekend of November 11-12.

A Daoist scholar once described Grandmaster Zhang as, "The real deal", since his training was directly from old masters in the remote Qing Cheng Mountain area of Sichuan province. These masters taught him the traditional, "secret", inner teachings (mi jiao), that were previously passed down only within ancient lineages, and still can only be learned directly from master to student. Now, Grandmaster Zhang can teach us these deeper levels of practice, and inner methods of qi circulation that make the outer, physical practices effective.

If you've never attended one of Grandmaster Zhang's workhops, the first day is a good introduction to his traditional teachings, and will be of benefit both to healing professionals, who want to replenish the qi the need for healing, as well as those who are interested in improving their own health. The techniques will be simple enough for those who have no previous experience with qigong, but are unique and will be of interest for those experienced with other forms of qigong.

The second day will focus on two different forms of one of the most ancient and important of the classic Qigong Practices - Ba Duan Jin (Eight Pieces of Silk Brocade). The standing and sitting forms have different movements and Grandmaster Zhang will explain what the name really means and why in his Qing Cheng Mountain tradition, there are actually 12 movements.

Details about the workshops are below. Please call 617-959-6097 or email [email protected] for more information or to register. You can also register at the door. If you're from out-of-town, let me know if you need information about housing.

If you would like not to receive these mailings, please send a reply with the subject heading "unsubscribe" and I will take you off the list.

Blessings,

Dee Ramee, Lic. Ac.

This is a rare opportunity to learn from a Grandmaster of Qigong, Yuanming Zhang.

Growing up in the mountains of Sichuan Province, China, Grandmaster Zhang was trained from the age of 3 in qigong and martial arts by a number of old masters. He has taught many classes and workshops in China and the U.S., from beginning Qigong for strengthening one's own body to advanced methods of treating others.

Saturday, Nov. 11 - Creating Better Health with Qigong

Do you feel your job and life stresses have taken over your health?

Do you feel too fatigued and drained to do anything else after a day of work?

Come and learn how a few, simple techniques can help strengthen your body, improve your energetic boundaries to prevent your energy being drained, calm your mind, and create a healthy and healing living environment.

Simpler than Tai Chi, the Chinese energy practice of Qigong is the energetic foundation of Tai Chi and Acupuncture. By combining breathing, simple actions, and visualizations, you can help your mind and body cope with the stresses of busy modern life.

Learn how to let the energy of the universe flow through you, to help create balance, tranquility and health, prevent job stress, or other people to drain you energy, and

bring joy and happiness back to life.

9:30 - 1:00 - Strengthening the body's energy

2:00 - 5:30 - Calming the mind and improving your environment

Sunday, Nov. 12 - 8 Pieces of Silk Brocade (Ba Duan Jin)

One of the most ancient Qigong exercises. Grandmaster Zhang will teach the "secret", inner practices behind the form. Learn the functions of the forms and the rarely taught inner circulation of qi behind the physical movements. Benefits include:

* improving circulation and energy flow

* relaxation/peace of mind

* providing a gentle full body stretch

* techniques to practice at home

* compliments the practice of Tai Chi

9:30 - 1:00 - Sitting Form - Easy to do movements. In the Qing Cheng Mountain tradition, there are 12, not just the basic 8 forms.

2:00 - 5:30 - Standing Form - A combination of Taoist Medical Qigong Internal Kung Fu, Master Zhang learned this version from a 102 year old master. The eight simple movements are especially good for strengthening the entire body.

Grandmaster Zhang is also available for private qigong healing sessions & semiprivate/private lessons in taiji, bagua or qigong. For information about the lecture & workshops, or to schedule an appointment or lesson, call 617-926-7971 or email [email protected].
