  1. Do you realize that the Taoism you have gotten into may be unconnected to the classical Chinese version of the Tao Te Ching? I don't even see a connection between Philosophical Daoism of the west and the Third Eye. The disconnect between eastern and western worldviews could account for your western LSD approach to your western version of an eastern goal.

Perhaps but I don't see a problem with this. I don't claim "my tao" is the right tao. I claim it is my tao and it satisfies me.

  2. Merits play a huge part in the cultivation process. If you don't have enough merits, certain spiritual experiences would not be available to you. Using drugs as a equalizer would produce different results.

I respect where you're comming from, and I understand the reasoning perfectly, but here's what I think:

    Heaven and Earth are impartial

They regard myriad things as straw dogs

    The sages are impartial

They regard people as straw dogs

As much as I believe in meritocracy, the universe kept on telling me it didn't give a damn about deserving or not, this I believe and in this I trust. I've seen enough unfair suffering and death in my short time to realize it. The main reason why I even got into Taoism is because I was done with fighting the unfairness of the universe, and then I understood the universe was perfectly fair all along it was me who was thinking merit and proverbial karma had anything to do on how it worked.

  3. I dared and it was bitchin'. I regret nothing.

No but seriously, I love meat, I just don't like the Idea of industrialized cattle production (beef, pork and chicken), some times I think of how'd I feel if I were cattle. Not a very pleasant tought, I'll reduce my meat consumption.

  4. As I said it in my first post. I'm putting psychedelics forward as an option to put taboos aside, because I believe It's perfectly valid to discuss them with mature, reasonable and unburdened logic.

LSD is described as something that's helped many people with opening their third eye and breaking mental barriers. So yeah. I advocate the responsible use of substances to achieve higher mental states -if such a thing's even possible- or the simple recreational activity. I believe ethical exploration of all options is an essential part in growth, do you not agree? I both respect and support those who would prefer to steer clear of the synthetic options and deepen on a more traditional approach, there's many of us and that means we can all explore different paths to a similar goal and then possibly add what we've learned to the collective knowledge.

So in favor of contributing to a more drug-free branch of the thread, I used my black belt in google-fu and dug out some reading material, bear in mind i've glanced upon it but i'll be reading it more closely this afternoon.

  5. Im sorry but no wrestler known as Chipmunk or whatever was going to defeat the Undertaker.

Im sorry, I know the truth hurts and all but it's the truth. The undertaker is not of this world, no living man can best him.

"But Samurai, he's been defeated in other matches before!"

That never happened, don't be silly.

"Dude, yes he has; and wrestling isn't even real."

That's not what your momma said when I supplexed her onto your dad's bed and piledrove my d**k in her throat.

Anyways, victories are based on popularity and rep, there's no way anyone would think CM punk deserved to defeat the undertaker on wrestlemania.

"but CM punk's a straight edge wrestler wh-"

One more word out of you and i'll shank you, I'll shank you with my shanking shank, oh I swear to god i'll fucking shank you.

  6. Brain damage? Check.

Just because I am intelligent and aware does not mean I am not brain damaged.

It is an affliction not an insult.

Permanent tinnitus is one symptom of an acute strike to the base of my skull.

Ouch, lost my money then. though I meant a damaged Pineal gland when I said brain damage but whatever it's all wired.

And if you'd care to share on the strike to the base of your skull, I am most interested.

But the fluoride came earlier in life and I've only recently learned that it could have a negative impact on spiritual sight.

And it is the only explanation that i have come across that might explain why i am so perpetually unable to see clearly, or dream lucidly...

Unless i am expected to starve myself and freeze my nuts off in the wild, doing nothing but meditate, in which case, keep your astral world to yourselves. its not worth suffering over.

Never heard of fluoride affecting one's spiritual sight/pineal gland, and now that you've mentioned it, I can't help but to think about all of those conspiracy theories and general tinfoil-hattery arround fluoridated water. Those dang 'ol illuminati closing our third eye.

Any source you can quote on this subject though? I'd like to know more.

  7. my intent was to find out with certainty if my third eye is damaged or reparable.

I think having one's third eye "broken" would ammount to actual brain damage. My money is on your brain being okay and you can go ahead with your spiritual soulsearch-thingy brother. Thumbs up.

So I would like to call again: Anyone with concrete experience that can help?

Maybe you should take some psych- errm I mean, you've tried lucid dreaming? I recall reading about how lucid dreaming further stimulates the pineal gland activity.

  8. Eight shots of vodka is safer. But that's me. I'm a coward.

Lol I think 8 shots of vodka are actually gonna close both of your regular eyes instead. And no I haven't tried LSD, but i've read numerous accounts and studies regarding it's effects. People who have had a good trip -at least- report having their outlook on life changed positively. Albert hoffman, the man responsible for it's discovery is a prime example of LSD's usefulness in the right hands: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albert_Hofmann#Discovery_of_LSD

    P

ersonally I think that on a safe enviorment with a sober friend spotting you, it's an experience worth trying, certainly you've nothing to lose from it... Now if I could just get my hands on a tablet in my country, i'd volunteer to research and journal for the Tao bums.

Will LSD opne your third eye for good or just temporary?

Some people report one trip was enough to do the trick, others claim it took them a few tries. I think coupling it with whatever other third-eye related activities you might want to try will give good results.

  9. Putting taboos aside; a method considered to be practical in third-eye opening/stimulation is the use of psychedelics, LSD being named as the utmost.

I realize that to most, the use of drugs might sound risky, but LSD's not known to be addictive or physically harmful to consume in the regular 1 tablet dose. So it's not like you're shooting up heroin or drowning your brain with absinthe.

That's my personal opinion, if you feel like LSD is like cheating, well that's a matter of perception and preference, the traditional approach is just as valid, im just putting this forward as an option if you prefer less esoteric means.

  10. Isn't the purpose of cultivating life is hastening death.....???

A man shooting krokodil is hastening death but can you call that cultivating life?

Emptiness is the goal, Meditation is the method.

The greatest method is no method, for it is essentially a straight path.

In fact it is not even a path, it is the direct and practical manifestation of nothingness.

In fact, it is not even a manifestation. It IS nothingness.

In fact, it is not even NOTHINGNESS, it is that which lies beyond nothingness.

    am confus.

  11. A bungler is full of it. And when you are full of it, you corrupt the purity of anything you touch.

Interesting words Chenping, and I think there's much observe here with what you've put forward. Is purity always a good thing? is purity even practical? When water becomes infused with tea, it becomes "corrupted", it's no longer pure water but something more. The closer we look at particular isolated elements we can see that they are "pure" but the further away we get from detail and look at the whole picture, we realize it's an interaction between two or more elements. Same goes for us as human beings, what we see as ourselves -or what others see us as- is an amalgam of experiences, internal and external forces shape the body and mind.

To me, purity is the most transitory state of being, one can be conceptually pure but I think that's as far as it goes.

Us people should be careful , we might get sued for copyright infringement if we use a roundhouse

    :)

Lol, You've earned one free internet.

  12.

when you challenged gerard to spar i laughed so hard i coulda fell out from my chair.

I thouht it a brilliant response, didn't take it seriously. though i am smiling now.

  13. I have never understood the connection between the Tao Te Ching and Tai Chi which is martial art, the cultivation of violence to deal with violence. How is it possible for the way of wisdom to inspire the way of fools?

The connection is the Tao, because it is all-encompansing.

Ying and yang forces and their interactions are Tao. A violent volcanic eruption shatters rocks and quakes the earth, the lava scorches all in it's path and destroys life in it's wake, but that is the nature of volcanic eruptions, and from their violence; islands that house life have sprung.

A succesful martial artists cultivates mind and body, develops balance, concentration and inner harmony, he absorbs knowledge and embraces the shaping of body and mind. He uses Ying to produce yang, the outer expression of controlled violence with purpose.

  14. If someone closes a door on you based solely on their prejudice, it's probably for the best; would you want to listen to such a person in the first place?

And more importantly: None can have monopoly over the Tao, none can be an authority on the Tao.
