  1. What can I do without a teacher?

Not that I don't want one, just can't afford extra expenditures at the moment. I'm in college and every dollar counts.

Anyway I was thinking of just doing Tree Hugging.

I do energy work but it's from the vajrayana tradition.

  2. Huh?

I don't take the original post seriously because,

    1) It says to practice the non- gradual path one has to read all these books in order to effortlessly not practice.

2)By reading said text that would lead to "immediate" enlightenment.

So I doubt this because we are so habituated. And to think after being directly introduced to knowledge of wisdom of our own mind one time, we will pass all the stages into complete buddhahood without remainder before the blink of an eye, doesn't make sense to me.

A cig car ba or instaneous realizer, directly sees there own wisdom and NEVER becomes under the influence of habitual thoughts, passions etc again and is a Buddha without remainder.

The only cig car bas I have heard about in history are Garab Dorje/ Prahe Vajra who is the First teacher of the Ati Yoga on this planet, and Saraha of Sahaja Mahamudra.

Of course if there are others who become buddhas without remainder in faster than the blink of an eye honestly I don't know. Maybe the poster is a cig car ba, so they wouldn't need to practice thodgal or londe, I don't know.

I'm just sharing, I could be wrong, this is just another post.

    Best wishes.

  3. Hum hum!

As for the substantial head of the Buddha,

    Hum hum!

I shall sever this deception which is a mara above you!

    Hum hum!

Enemies, demons, adverse companions, and your environment consist of delusive experiences of dualistic grasping of thoughts.

    Hum hum!

Do not regard this as being other than reification, other than grasping onto true existence.

    Hum hum!

I shall destroy this deception which is a mara below you!

Vimalamitra spent thirteen years in Tibet, and then, promising to return to Tibet every hundred years as an emanation to further the Clear Light teaching of Dzogpachenpo, he left for the Wutai Shan mountain in China. There he remains, in the rainbow body, the ‘Body of Great Transference’, and there he will remain until all of the 1002 buddhas of this Fortunate Kalpa have appeared. When they have all done so, he will once again go to Vajrasana in India, where he will manifest the state of complete and perfect enlightenment.

I'm a big Vimalamitra fan so that's why I'm encouraged to try my best to do similar practice. Like meditating on the above final teachings of body of light compassion. You can find translations. Also anything by the Great Chetsun !!

  5. Most likely not going to tell the whole world. Live quietly and keep a low profile like some of those Forest Thai arahants.

I think the need to go public only appears in cases of necessity, to benefit humanity i.e. if the Dhar(m)a was no longer known on this plane.

Thats what i thought, just wondered if there was someone in the know. Probably wont hear about it via the net

  6. Have we met.

Its so odd your number 2 is like u know me personally, how did u know i chose to be homeless? *_*

I chose to be a vagabond, i have been traveling all over the U.s.a.

I feel so much freedom, of course this is temporary. But what is so weird is that living this lifestyle for the past 7 months has revealed so much. I finally found my career path in life than the ones pushed on me by my family.

Wow you are hitting so many nails on the head, I swear we've met, were you at the los angeles life concious expo?

I was trying to use spirituality as a type of escapism, this is one of the realisations that occured on my travels.

This is why this path is resonating with me, its about the now and dealing with things.

Another strange thing is after reading your question what did my grandmas death mean to me, I always knew on a subconcious level, but your question was so straight forward, the answer came immediately.

I was so scared of death, losing my personal identity, my family and just the unknown.

This means my whole quest has been to discover how to remain concious after death etc.

    Thank you so much.

This transmission means a lot to me.

  7. So theres a recent topic called Ultimate Goal, and it left me curious, so i wanted to bring it up in a new topic.

From my understanding of spiritual traditions around the world, there is always that person in the tradition who has reached the perfection of the teachings.

For instance you have the shaman who is in communion with the spirits.

The MahaSiddhas of india and Vajrayana traditions.

    The saint in christianity.

    The awliya in sufism

The prema bhakti in bhakti marg.

    The holy ones of qabalah

    Etc etc.

So to me it seems that the immortal is the one who has become one with the Tao.

Im new to this spiritual tradition so im still learning.

My question is who in recent times in considered an immortal?

Is there a way to identify who is an immortal like with rainbow body?

Can the immortals take on emanation bodies or things of that nature?

Thanks, please dont be to cryptic. I get confused easily.

  8. Yes, there is a transcendent goal for Taoism(religion wise). Let's look at the meanings of "True Man/Zhenren" and "Immortal".

    True hu(man), Zhenren(真人) and immortal:

Zhenren(真人) is a real person. What is a real person...??? Well, a real person is always alive and breathing. Now, is a dead body a person....??? According to the given definition, a dead body is not a person. Then, the ultimate goal of a Taoist is to stay in longevity, as long as it can be, to be a Zhenren. Thus the transcendent goal of a Taoist is to be Zhenren, then an immortal. Please keep in mind, a Zhenren is only a real person but not an immortal yet. A Zhenren can be promoted to an immortal only by cultivation to a point that he/she doesn't require to breathe.

    PS.....

The above is only my understanding from the mythology of the Chinese Taoist religion.

So how is this acheived from your understanding of Taoist mythology?
