  1. try the appraoch of "dont feed the trolls"

maybe that will quiet them down a bit.

sometimes they are looking for the

knee jerk reaction to their posts,

    if they dont get that,

    maybe they will lose energy.

    Dio.

Tho I wish that would work on

    taxes and big goverment.

Dont like them dont pay them.

    But that be jail time.

    Oh sorry, off topic there.

    Point being starve it early

    before it can eat you.

    Thick skin, less ego helps.

P.S. Dio = Ditto, but I forgot the ts one day

and have been spelling it that way ever since.

  2. I am actually looking for a consensus regarding this thread. I wanted to know if the recent upsurge in trolling and off-topic disruption is bothering anyone else. I voted yes on the poll because I would like to see more moderation, so comments like the one above would be nipped in the bud and we wouldn't have the petty back and forths, but actual discussions about the topic. I guess it's too much to ask adults to behave like adults.

    Aaron

Ok, ya'll can guess I voted 'No'.

If you want an on topic discussion,

check out a book on the topic or take a class.

But that's not really a discussion is it.

    My point being,

Real life conversions dont stay on topic,

    learn to bring it back,

in a way no one even notices you're stearing it.

  3. I've found that it can be called 'trolling' on here if one posts something one believes to be contributory to a discussion that someone else doesn't agree with.

I'm a lone voice bleating against a particular system seller who appears to abuse the forum to advertise his wares for free and does nothing else by way of constructive contribution to TTB discussions.

Every time I raise that issue I'm warned off and attempted debate is futile as disciples accuse one of 'trolling'.

Any restriction of freedom of expression is dubious. Abusive posters are easily dealt with but 'trolling' might only exist in the mind of someone who just doesn't like what is being said.

  4. I once heard a Faith Healer explain demons this way, to us laymen.

A bird will fly over a man's head.

He must keep shewing it away or it will build a nest in his hair.

If the for some reason doesn't and that does build a nest in his hair will need someone

to help get it out and wash the shit off.

Demons will tell things and do things to man.

As soon as one lets their guard down they will move in.

I was taught Faith and Authority as a kid.

I can only point to my teachers, like my mom

    and yes, the Bible.

  5. LOL, funny this should come up, hmm Sin.

I am Christian to other Christians, this is how I grew up. They love to 'save' you. This means a lot to me to see this, it is becoming rare anymore. Faith and a good moral foundation is disappearing now days and they might care about me too.

I let them preach to me often and I ask questions that slowly get harder but they are things I want to know about their band.

Note, never tell a 'Holy roller' ya talked to a Jehovah's Witness.

  6. I feel like an @$$ now. Sin ur still young. Shen said he wish had someone to tell him what he told you when he was young, assuming he would have heed. I lived with or near, well live next-door to my mom now. I worked part time in school, then full time and split my earnings with my mom. Then moved a friend into an empty room, who paid and put to guys, one on each couch who paid. One was Shen, lolzzz. When the house next door went up for sell, I'd saved enough for down payment. My mom still won't move in with me. I'm saying, get out but ya do a lot from any where. You've done a lot, don't stop now.

  7. I just want to say thank you for all the posts.

I may be tooting my own horn but my mind is extremely creative, and thus I view this question from a mind of someone who is creative therefore this is how Im thinking, I do not think karma and belief system/honour has anything to do with each other, seriously change your beliefs change your reality. I have seen this happen in me hundreds of times, while I do respect your giving your best advice, this is actually your own negative ideas your giving to other people. And maybe this thread can be helpful to people who are stuck in their own prison they created for themselves.

I have some ideas Im going to work with...

A plan? Plans, actions do follow beliefs, making reality. What's your then?

    Looking for ideas.

  8. if you consider just hitching and backpacking around, know that the world will take care of you. It may not always be in the way you want though. Entitlement and honor have nothing to do with it and anyone who tells you otherwise is bitter that they had to work for theirs while other people discover abundance and waste - like all the almost expired food thrown away every day. Tons of advice to give, crash space on my floor and a warm meal. tons of free cultivation and spiritual teachings in my town too :)

There are more homeless and abandoned pets now more than ever.

Want to learn from them? Feed them first.

  9. merchant marines get to travel, get paid for it, too. You could head out to alaska and work one of the fishing ships that haul from the bering sea, good place to put that breathing technique to the test, and its just a couple months of hazardous labour followed by a year full of doing whatever you want. The really smart way is to work at something that pays well enough, live simply, save, and invest in a business that will allow you to enjoy your time, cultivate, ect. Ice cream parlor, candy store, bookshop, whatever. Running a business can be hard work, too ... but if it's something that you really enjoy, it isn't really work, either.

While you are doing all of that, think about this: If the universe itself were attempting to guide and shape you into a certain person, what would you possibly have to want for if you were to become that person? Finding that point can be a challenge, but the closer you get to it, the less effort it will require to accomplish your dreams.

Ok, don't go getting yourself shot or frozen on a fish.

Just get a job, give one, anyone a try.

    Try more than one.

I like ur idea Shen, almost.

Sin, I found fast food, security, cleaning then, truck driving, its not for most. Truck drivers are the forgotten servant, non-hero, thank less slave. Ever think you four wheels are rude to each other, you all have a death wish around semi. This will teach anyone Christ like patience. Drivers touch more lives than any other personal, I can thank of. Without them you starve. They are not thanked, they are looked down at. They learn every day, everyone is new to us and an old friend. Driver has a driver's back when they don't know him and no one else will, we most likely to be robbed and killed. They know every day could be their last or their career could end or their freedom end, in a flash. Your life and other driver's our in their hands, great responsibility. They're very self reliant, we are alone out here.

Another job like this yet more challenging, oil rig and oceanic tanker or shipping. These are also great learning jobs.

Second thought, if someone does not want this kinda of job, we don't want you in.

    Have nice day.

  10. I've always been curious about past life regressions. Wouldn't mind going through one, except I'm not a big fan of getting hypnotized.

I have such a cynical mind I'm not sure it'd do me much good anyways, hehe.

It's not scary at. It's a lot like guided meditation.

  11. Lolzzz, this is why I say Christian'ish. When I say I'm a Reincarnationalist to other Christians I've two heads.

But reincarnation answered a question for me. Why would God send people to hell, or into nothingness for just not being 'saved'? My God does not. I'm not 100% sure on 'Jesus' and that being born again thing, cuz John was written in Greek and he, Jesus would not have spoke Greek so likely never said this. The Greek was a play on words, in Greek, and a cordially to John Jesus meant bein born from above vs. born again. The word play was later lost. The church tried to take out reincarnation. Thankfully they missed most of it.

"I want to go to heaven but I don't want to go tonight." Or for a long while.

  12.

I kind of tie this into Malik's post above .. mental discipline can come from more than one source, but for me (personal experience caution) it came from studying the way to freedom, a core teaching of tibetan buddhism. The author is one that, I would agree with him, inconsequential; it is what he was taught, and he passed on from that teaching that is important.

Old stuff, translated to english. As english is my next best language, it works for me. Individual results may vary, of course.

    Dio.

But I'm Christian'ish and yet to have read that, so I read 'Right and wrong thinking.' By Hagin, I think. Also 'Battle field of the mind.' By Joyce Myers.
