  1. A few years back I did a tibetan form of yoga. One day after a few hours I sat down to do some meditation and I noticed there was a greater deal of pressure in the forehead. When I closed my eyes and got really relaxed, all of the sudden out of nowhere a great flood of incredible white light starting opening up in my head. It was absolutely incredible,I got scared because of the intensity with which this light came in. I immediately opened my eyes and I was a little shaken. My heart was beating and there was a a wave of intense heat in the body. It was moving like waves in my body. Even thought I stopped this light from going any further the heat in the body was persistent. It was not uncomfortable, but it was hot. I have read Gopi Krishna's book on Kundalini awakening and I am 100% sure this is what happened because the light he described in the book was exactly what I experienced. I looked at myself in the mirror and my pupils were very dilated, if you saw my eyes you would have thought I had taken ecstacy or some drug. I did some alternate nostril breathing to try and balance out the energy and it seems that it made the heat subsided and the pupil dilation also came down quite a bit. I managed to get to sleep, when I woke up I could still feel energy moving in the body, but it had decreased quite a bit. Another interesting thing is that I was strangely very aware of everything around me and my eyes were very open. I had read about Kundalini, but I had no idea it would happen this quick. I had only been practising yoga for a year and half give or take a few months and I had only recently started doing seated meditation. I though these kinds of things happen after very prolonged practice. I had read extensively on the dangers of prematurely activating this energy, so I know I should be very careful with this whole situation. What I noticed is that a lot of these experiences started happening once I started to do seated meditation, before I only did the Yantra Yoga practice and I never had something like this happen, sure I felt a good pleasurable heat in the body after practise, but nothing like the heat/light explosion and that incredible light that happened.

Do not play with this, I know first hand the kind of power you are dealing with, It ain't a joke. You need to search for a spiritual master!!

Before you do anything yoga related I advise to read all material by Gopi Krishna.

  2. Can u elaborate? What kind of spiritual practice are you following?

So I should follow up on this 'spontaneous' stuff. Day before yesterday, full undulating (3 bend) spine cracking wave. Not painful, not blissful. Was followed later by softer warm golden waves (no outward movement) and then decreased to a warm golden light.

  3. Did u try the meditation? Try it see what happens.

    Interesting post!

I watched the 1st video twice. First time I couldn't get over the obvious teleprompter reading and very thick glasses and the (obviously) lightbulb in back of his head and the excruciating editing. Also I did feel a little heat at tailbone so I found that silly. And when I watched it a second time, nothing much. The mantra was hilarious.

  4. I have found the same thing. If you can mix in some science and try and tie it all together people seem a lot more willing to accept it. Otherwise it is a hard sell.

One of my friends had some bad health problem so I gave him a copy of Opening the Energy Gates of the Body by Bruce Frantzis which has a lot of healing material in it, but he didn't read it or try out the practice to see if it can help as he prefered to just go by what the doctors say as he considers them the ultimate authority on his life. Then a few weeks ago I took him and his girlfriend to see the Buddhist monk Matthieu Ricard who was giving a talk in my town, I had to buy the tickets and organise it all of course and persuade them to go, but they were genuinely impressed and influenced by it and have asked for other books and information from me afterwards to do with Buddhism and meditation etc. I think the reason is that Matthieu Ricard isn't just a Buddhist monk he is also a world renowned scientist and includes in his talk a great deal or raw scientific data showing without any doubt the benefits of things like meditation and compassion showing all the brain wave data and growth of neural pathways etc. At the moment generally scientists and doctors are regarded as the authorities of life so if you can get enough science behind it people are more likely to start giving it some consideration and respect. Otherwise people will only generally turn to this area if they have some sort of bad shock, deep suffering,a random spiritual experience or chance upon meeting a very advanced practitioner who inspires them.

  5. A few months back, I watched a video on youtube of this master/guru giving a skaktipat initiation with a mantra phrase that was to be repeated after the initiation. I did not think much of it, and thought it was not going to do anything. After watching the video and receiving the mantra, to my utter amazement, I felt like some kind of energy was coursing through my spine. It completely took me by surprise.

On the website of this guru it was stated that after the initiation, the initiate should visualize the guru's picture and chant the mantra silently. On the website it also stated that after you receive initiation, when the kundalini starts to get activated, the body of the initiate may start performing all kinds of yogic postures and breathing exercises in an involuntary fashion. So after I received the initiation, I sat down to meditate and started repeating the mantra, and immediately I felt like my body wanted to move on its own. To my utter amazement and disbelief, my body started to move and perform yogic postures one after the other.

The postures my body was performing were very unique and "clever," - I had never seen them in any book on yoga, and I have read a few. This lasted for about 1 hour straight without stopping. It felt like I was in a meditative state and my body was like a doll being moved into different postures with incredible precision. After this phenomena subsided, I felt very peaceful and centered. It was like a natural high, it was one of the most incredible and amazing things that has happened in my entire life.

It seems that the kundalini/prana shakti knows each person's body and what needs to be done to achieve optimal results.

I have been doing this form of yoga for the past several months now, and over time the exercises have shifted from physical postures, to very heavy breathing exercises. Other movements/routines involve breath retention (pranayama as far as I can tell) with all kinds of abdominal and chin locks, in addition to many mudras (hand gestures) that I have seen in various yogic texts/books. The sheer variety and combinations of these involuntary yogic movements has left me absolutely speechless and in absolute awe. I was a big skeptic of these spiritual masters/gurus, thinking that most of them were despicable charlatans who were mostly exploiting gullible spiritual seekers, but this Guru's initiation has forced me to reconsider my stance.

The guru's name is Guru Siyag. I have pasted the facebook and mantra videos bellow if anyone is interested.

  6. Just joined up. I have been reading this forum for some time, very interesting discussions. I had an experience recently that I would like to share, but I can't post any threads so I guess I have to wait a bit :)
