  1. I tend to dislike complainy threads, so I'll try not to talk about my specific problems too much. What I have noticed is that when my energy is high, and I am able to function in new ways, physically, psychically, and in society, the challenges continue to grow. I have been practicing kundalini yoga and SFQG daily, and I have noticed a huge positive change in my life. However, I think I may become overconfident, or arrogant at times, and have been noticing huge flaws in my personality and actions. I like to think of myself as a humble person, but I also want to be happy and energetic, which I never realized can actually cause problems. I can handle the energy flux, but I feel that I need more self discipline and control to keep myself contained, or I am going to get myself in trouble. I have recently gotten back into dating, and this is where I need to learn to keep the intensity down most. Does anyone else notice that when your energy levels are particularly high for a few days in a row, the proverbial shit hits the fan at some point, and it just seems like the universe is trying to balance things out? Or am I missing something?
  2. Spiders

One of the most fascinating things I have seen was when I sat and watched a spider create its entire web, then watched mosquito fly into it and the spider making it into dinner. I would recommend observing spiders. When I live in tents I often have spiders come with me in my sleeping bags only pop out at strange times. I never kill spiders....not since.....the incident................
  3. Depression

Antidepressant drugs are ridiculously powerful. They should be a last resort. Exercise, and sunlight work wonders. Also, inner smile knowing when you need a chemical shift and when you are just feeling sorry for yourself is helpful. Oily fish as said above is helpful. Avoiding fast carbs can help. I have been trying to cultivate "gratitude" in myself to stave off the winter blues. I have never had access to ayahuasca. Psylociben can be a very useful tool for self reflection and changing life patterns. If you don't have respect for the plants and their energies though, you will after they are through tearing your ego apart- it can get scary.
  4. When you project hate you are harming yourself. I would meet the neighbor ASAP, otherwise your mind will continue to take over and make it something to be pissed about. There is some good advice already in this thread about how to go about engaging the situation peacefully. The longer you wait though, the more difficult it will be. It might turn out to be nothing he's doing consciously, or something with excercise or whatever. Approach it as such. Hydrogen makes an interested point, but I don't think it's valid in every situation. I have noticed that there are characters that show up for me repeatedly, and I've realize the only way to change the type of characters that show up in my life, is to change my inner climate.
  5. New books for EVERYONE

I'm confused. You want me to write a book? But I don't know anything!
  6. detachment and bliss?

"accidental kundalini sufferer" sounds like an oxymoron to me. If you are non-spiritual would you not view your suffering in a non-spiritual way? To conclude that what you are experiencing in a result of kundalini is taking the perspective from spiritual tradition. Maybe this clash of ideas is contributing in some way to your suffering, if you are fighting the idea that there is something happening to you that is not directly physical. I prefer "this is happening" to "fuck it" This is happening- statement, release.
  7. Tired of people materialising yoga

I agree. We are overwhelmed with options in the west, but lack authenticity in almost everything. I just take from it what I want, most of the work is internal, right? I enjoy going to a stretching class then going home to meditate. While I generally wish the "yoga" studios I have gone to have focused more on the spiritual aspects, it's still a great workout and gets energy moving. I think there is room to compartmentalize. Active stretching improves meditation, and philosophic insight for me, so I just take it for what it is and try to increase knowledge without being pretentious.
  8. demonic mantra

It's not "Metal" that is an issue. Metal can carry any message. Some music carries a direct message of hate. A lot of music being played on the radio is part of problem of the dissociated mess our society is at this time. Media is pushing violence on us at every turn. It's not all hate and greed, but it is "get it for yourself", and not spreading love and empathy. It's the disconnect between one another that makes violence possible. Metal-heads can be some of the most peaceful people ever. Lightening is 1000X louder and more violent sounding than any metal band could ever be, yet is is carrying a demonic message because of it? I agree with what you are saying, that we need to be aware of what we produce. I think violent movies and video games are bad. I used to play a lot of them, but I think for a lot of people, they create suffering and pain.
  9. The Power of F*ck It

thisisitfuckititiswhatitis. sounds like a bad disease. Crotchpatches's message has my approval.
  10. Corrupt a Wish.

Granted. Instead you wished for your head for become a pickled egg. I wish I were big.

  13. What do you want for Christmas?

This thread just went uphill like a fun guy carrying a sack full of shrooms. That's a pretty nice history. I wonder if it would be okay to teach to children. Any other sources for this?
  14. End of relationship...

I think we experience so much through love and sex that it overwhelms our system. Maybe the pain comes from the mind trying to rationalize the fear of losing a mate and never being able to produce children. I think our physical systems adapt to each partner, that's why sex gets better and better with someone you trust. Maybe the pheromones and regular surges of dopamine from affection are needed to regulate after a while.
  15. What do you want for Christmas?

Well this thread went down hill like a fat man on a tin roof.
  16. What do you want for Christmas?

I take Christmas in the US very seriously. It's like a giant magnifying glass of consumerist capitalist greed, and mindless waste for the sake of material euphoria. Not for all of course, but that is the overwhelming projection. If you don't have money to spend on junk made by slave labor, you are held inferior. Don't worry though, because pity might be heaped on you during this once yearly occasion. Bankruptcy of real tradition based on values, or any actual belief has enabled corporate interests to appropriate celebration. Sorry for the rant! I'll give myself the gift of gratitude for clean water, and a warm place to sleep.
  17. HaHa Yoga

I did some of this in my car today. It made me realize that it's not an abnormal thing for me to do.
  18. Haiku Chain

tongue's broken, scratch that back itch you can't reach yourself with a wooden spoon
  19. I have experimented quite a bit with altering my visual perception. To achieve the impressionist view I imagine myself breathing in through my eyes and giving equal attention to my peripheral view as the center of my vision. I then relax and imagine everything is projected on top of a two dimensional plane. It helps when the imagery is busy, like looking through trees in a forest, or a crowded cafe, or water, as the impressionists loved to do. I think it has a lot to do with shifting attention to the sense of seeing, rather than the reaction of seeing. The reaction to seeing is the feedback image after the brain processes objects and shapes and categorizes them by threat and function.
  20. It would be cool...

I went in there to check on the feng shui and noticed that statue needed to be moved vertically, thanks! No one was around, but I left some tea and crackers.

  24. Yo, wachado?

I would have guessed Horse stance + Pony cartoons. What's Dong Han? My system is mostly higher education right now, unfortunately. I get a few stretches and moments of breath awareness in.
  25. Sensations experience during practice

Numbness = energy from overheated gonad channel creating a dissonance wave in your ego multiverse Pressure = giardia Warm = bosonic string obstructions / cosmic inflation Cold = probably need some new socks Shaking = possible reaction to salsa / merengue spirits trying to break through your energy field and make your hips gyrate. Just go with it
