  1. There is nothing in this universe that is supernatural, there is only that which we don't understand. I could rant on for hours about the biology of the the mind and the spirit, but not many people here really care and I would just be wasting my breath. If you are interested please feel free to pm me any further questions though.

    - I normally associate the term"biology" with physical structures.... oh, except with the shark's sensitivity to electricity, hehe

    - I do not think you wil waste your breath... I think alot of people in this forum are alittle interested in the matter.... heheh

    cheers

  2. I was thinking in starting this simple straight foward Topic.

It is not intended for discussion.

It would be nice if everyone could say everything they know about the different taji styles. What is there martial applications differences, and their energetic work diferences, which one is best suited for what kind of person? which one is better for the ones that simply want energetic balance and enlightment, etc...

    Thank You

  3. There are lots of misconception about the terminology "dan tian" in the west. "Dan tian" is just a location on the body for the convenience of identifiaction. There was no such thing as outer nor inner dan tian. People were misinterpreted the phrase "sink chi to the dan tian". They thought it was meant to store energy to the dan tian. However, it was not the case. In Chi Kung, it was meant to breathe and send the breath(chi) deep down to the abdomen. People cannot stay away from thinking that Chi is always meant "energy".

"sink chi to the dan tian" simply means "abdominal breathing" in Chi Kung or martial arts. Your body cannot and does not store energy, it can only generate the energy as long you will used it. If not, it will be gone in few seconds. Your energy will not build up until you take another breath again. Another words, as long you hold your breath deep down in your dan tain, then the energy will be started to generate. As soon you release the breath in the dan tian, your have loss the ability to generate more energy. Unfortunately, there are not many people understand this concept.

To understand this concept, you may observe the weight lifters. The weight lifters always take a deep breath and hold before they lift any weights off the floor. I'm sure that you have noticed they always have a belt around the waist to help them to hold their breath. The idea was to keep the energy going to lift the weights for few seconds. Actually, they were using the basic concept of "sink chi to the dan tian". Under the condition of "sink chi to the dan tian", your body muscles will generate the energy holistically. The energy was not from the dan tain as one might thought.

so what's the problem in bringing your Yi or intent to the Dantien after practice?

  4. Oh that's problably why John Woodrofe way that a yoguin can have sexual relationships with women only after he "mastered" kundalini... during the awakening process it is very easy to fall slave to the woman, kind of by projecting the godess unto her, which would make the yoguin powerless and surrender completely...

  5. Oh... I feel I must add some things so that certain misconceptions never come to expistence because of this thread...

1st - It so no way something related to the human female sex. I think it has yes, to do, with the female energy force (aka involutionary force) and every human being has both the forces in him.

2nd - I myself was victim to the involutionary force... i already found my self hating people that were seeking for buddhahood... without anyreason... only deeper practice gave me consciousness and control over some forces.

3rd - I do not blame anyone that becomes "possessed" or influencesd by any force that tries to chalenge me... it is not the person's fault. I believe there is a natural evolution speed of human race... we are the ones in a hurry and speeding it up,.. so it is up to us to accept te consequences and step away from the "normal speed highway" not to disturb their own karmas...

4th - the inccidents that I had with my girlfriends were funny in the manner that at the same time that both them and I were victims of the "Involutionary force", the spiritual experiences were also quite stronger... which means that it was a a razor's edge or a "Knife with both sides of the blades sharpened" meaning that it could accelerate or destroy my spiritual cultivation.

(completely destroy it if I fall in love with a girl that ddoesn't know how to notice and control the unconscious impulses, which already happened with me and thnks God she left my way... i was willing to abandon my practice to live a "happy life" with her, but it seems that some extra dimensional beings simply didn't let us continue together... thankful for that, for now I see clearly.)

    well that's bout it...

    cheers brothers!

  6. I view the spirit as an energetic biological entity, no more supernatural than your flesh and blood body. Our purpose here is to extract energy from the environment to feed and nourish it, and help it grow. In many schools they refer to it as the immortal fetus.

please.. tell me more about it...

I see supernatural powers as supernaturals from the point of view of who doesn't have them...

e.g. the capacity to walk is supernatural for a tree.... the capacity of reasoning is supernatural for a dog, but nor for human... etc...

try explain your concepts deeper still please...

  7. It is my opinion there is no such thing as magic or the supernatural.

neigong training is mechanical energy extraction and storage for the development of of your spirit in a biological manner.

mechanical?!? energy?!?!? extraction?!?!?!??! storage?!?!?!?! development of spirit! in biological manner?!?!?!?!?!

    hmmm...

  8. Hmm well....

Here in Brasil a few years ago a man entered a bank, in front of everyone, kneeled down in front of a cash machine and robbed a couple of thousand bucks.... no one noticed... but the cameras did....

That means that his "invisibility" was a energetic invisibility and not actual invisibility... perhaps he practiced sqigong or was just one more of the "naturals" that are out there.

as for the "powers" that I felt, they didn't last long and I don't have much control over them. Sometimes I know deep issued from people I have close contact, like job, etc...

SOme times I can quite easily hold my energy beneat the ground While I walk in downtown and it's funny, i feel reaally tiny, as if I hit the waist level of an average person (I'm 1,80), it's funny, and I don't know how this effects what the others percieve of me.

Sometimes I feel my body levitate when I am about to sleep.

There are some other experiences also that I don't think is important to express as these ones speak alot already...

I am not saying that those are psychic powers, but they really match the "siddhis" mentioned in yoga. I imagine aa lonely hermit in the jungle, his experience in wilderness is so intense that he kiind of looses his "rational" thinking that it is just a perceptive / energetic phenomena. And well.. I bet most of us read alot of new age, scientific, daoist, etc... stuff. which gives our rational mind some tools to enable us to discuss abbout it without actually archaicly thinking "I really got very small".

Oh, probably some thousand years ago there weren't cameras also.... so when someone made there energy "invisible" there was no maaterial to evidence that they did not get invisible....

those are just a few hypothesis my brothers...

    cheers

  9. about crosisng the legs...

I think the case is similar in low zhan zhuan and high zhan zhuan (da peng).

in the first case you end up doing an extreme perineum lock, and throw enourmou amout of energy huiyin upwards... but not necessarily a good feeling... same times it may increase your inbalance, by energysing it... same efects by crossing the legs... resticts the flow to the legs, and keeps it huiyin upwards....

the higher stance zhan zhuan.. permits your energy to sink down to the ground.... the ground neutralizes any imnbalance... and if you go deep enough, the earth's energy will rebound back with force (peng) a kind of vulcanic force in nature.. and the energy will come balanced and beatiful!

  10. Clarity... do you think you can sythesise Gurdijeff's theory in one reply????

    is that asking too much?

I had a girl friend that sometimes, whilst I was meditating, would run to me and shake me profusely... i got reallly upset and asked why she did it.. and she would reply she didn't know... and then would say sommething like "aren't you afraid of not coming back???" sometimes she would wake me up on nights in which I was having fanstastic dreams.... she was quite a strong medium by the way....

I think she had a very "Mother earth" impulse crying out for her: "stay here in earth, play the game of samsara and help you brothers" kind of thing....

had some few other experiences of this kind also, maybe next post I write them down....

Sinfest I think you didn't get the point.. this topic is not inteded to discuss enlightment...

i think this discussion quite borring and grey...

    but thank anyways brother!

    cheers!

  11. I have heard that the neck chakra is alot of times "attacked" by negative energies, or astral entities or some thing like that, the belly button area alot also.

any ways, the beard would help you to create an energy field, not only because of the hair material, but because you know that your beard is there, and just by knowing it, you project a qi field over there. I think this concept it revered to as the Yi - intent in daoist qigong.

anyways, if you don't have a bear you can just use a scarf on the neck... it really helps, alot of people use it intuitively.

I always wanted to grow my hair enough to tie it up.. but my hair is kind of afro, so affter it reached a peak, I would feel like a baloon, with no roots.... a little crazy and completely spaced out.... and all of a sudden I would cut it short again...

about swamijis satsag... very nice in deed!!!! I belie that the brahma charyas would "scrape" their heads with some udimentary equipment, which would stress the scalp more than our modern equipment, and end up shooting more qi to the area...

    cheers

  12. oh.. forgot to add.. this happens only when you're striving for enlightment... to brake on through to the other side...

    "abandon" every one here...

after you are enlightened you emanate love... and every one loves you and you love everyone and every thing is love, love, love...

    cheers

  13. Some times I feel like some people kind of dislike the people that are looking for attainment / enlightment.

it's a kind of a unconcious possession thing, as if "maya, or the negative aspect of mother earth doesn't like the ones that don't want to play the game of samsara, the theater of life"

As if something deep in their unconscious says "hey, this guy is trying to leave this planet, get him.. or hate him.. or try to distract him"..

i'm sure I'm not being escapist and trying to guilt everyone.. heheh... it is just a "feeling" that comes to me some times... anyone had this intuition?

reminds me of the agents from matrix

  14. 3rd - external exercise

4th - bring intent OUT OF lower dan tien to reduce energy.

    ChiDragon...

I thought that it is recomended to condensce the qi in the lower inner dantian after exercise as for not to loose the energy created.

isn't it the "outer lower dantien" (the one actually in the conception vessel, some inches below the navel), also known as elixir furnace, that produces alot of energy...

and the inner dantien stores alot of energy??

  15. If I separate 2 hours on the end of the day to practice internal chi kung and external exercises such as push ups, stance training, etc... which one shoul I perform first?

I thought that this would be the best:

    1st - qigong

2nd - bring intent to lowe dantien to condensce energy

    3rd - external exercise

4th - bring intent to lower dantien to consence energy.

anyone has opinions on the case?

  16. Swami Satyananda Saraswati says in oe of his books.. I believe a systematic course in the ancient tantric techniques of yoga and kriya, or kundalini tantra, that the astral plane (at least a certain astral plane) smells like sandalwood incense.

... Pai Mei went spot on... base chakra activation. I've hear of people that simply can't stand the smell of other people (smells that ordinary people can't sense), due to their own chakra activation.

  17. ChiDragon and Jeramiah Zeitigeist, thank you for the info.

Thelerner. I will check out the book mentioned, thank you.

I tried out some external kung fu here last year but I was getting far too exausted... during the training my legs were simply heavy heavy heavy.. almost lethargic...

probably my energy was kind of "lefty", running trhough the Ida nadi, or Yin...

I discovered that my energy was kind of "lefty" only last week, when I managed to finally "hold on to both sides"

I really had to make an effort to hold on to the right side of my body, because there was, ans still is a very trong tendency to turning my energy "to the left", and when that happens, I kind of loose contact with my physical body and feel my energy spiraling around my body, in a smoky manner.. it feels as if my head is spinning round.. kinda like the exorcist way...

when I held my energy on the middle, or, better still "on both sides" it was funny because I could feel my physical body on the right side of my body, and my left side stayed kind of "smoky" and vapourish. remembered me some stories about xamans, that can transform themselves into anything, i think it by hold on into both sides, and directin the left, vapourish side to the object into which he want's to transform himself, or a person if he wanted to read there mind or control her i some manner. I also had some "pure right side" experiences, where I could feel perfectly my whole body, and felt very strong and energy and able to cope with physical exercise... I felt very powerful and grounded.

Any ways... I will continue with my internal practice, and if I manage to control my left / right energy mechanisms in the future I will probably get involved into some external styles also.

  18. Greetings...

I am a Kundalini Yoga practitioner and am starting to use daoist qigong methods in my practice.

I have a strong foundation on flexibility an hui-yin / mulabandha, anal and vajroli muscles control and breathing... so I feel the energy kind of fast...

so... I am buildinh leg power and rooting with zhan zhuang (from book "chi kung: way of power" My link very interesstin, straight foward and effectiv book, by the way)

I started practicing taiji now, and when my legs get much stronge, making my body "lighter" I wil start practicing bagua....

I' like to know if you think it is necessary to learn and practice external kung fu also.. because I kinda of don't really want to earn those martial arts for self defence... only if it is necessary for further energy work...

or maybe the horse stance - taiji - bagua - training is enough

    thank you!

  19. Greetings...

In some texts, especially the "MAHANIRVANA TANTRA; SHATCHAKRA-BHEDA" or the piercing of the six chakras, the pircing of some chakras and granthis "knots" are associated with some disorders, but they do not mention what disorders they might be...

the following is an excerpt of the text, following a link to the complete text.

"When the Devi reaches the manipura chakra all that is in the chakra merges in Her body. The Varuna vija "vang" is dissolved in fire, which remains in the body of the Devi as the Vija "rang." This chakra is called the Brahma-granthi (or knot of Brahma). The piercing of this chakra may involve considerable pain, physical disorder, and even disease. "

Any one has any ideia of what ilnessess and pain is associated here::

  20. Don't discount the tremendous amount of prior effort to get there  For if it may come at will, it happens because the vehicle is prepared for it. I would be careful not to do this too often, the extended periods. Not more than once or twice a month perhaps, but that is of course dependent on your circumstances.

maybe if you try it once... wait for a while for your nervous system adapt to the new shock... then again a little... and so forth... that's kind of the rule for every practice isn't it?

and oh.. about the heat... it is said in some alchemical/ hermetic texts, as well as tantric, that "once you find the inner fire, and it is firmly established, the completion of the great work is guaranteed the Adept must only take care not to let the mixture BURN, just like a cook takes care of his food"..

some say you can even stop some practices, I mean.. if you feel the heat continuosly even without practicing.. it means it's firmly established.. so you don't practice any more... control the heat by eating some "heavy" (not junky) food... such as ghee.. of some good quality meat, etc... in intervals not greater than 2 and half hours (Gopi Krishnas case)

I f you stay too long without eating, having the inner fire established... you will get very ill, and not want to eat at all, getting even to feel alot of pain when you eat... but the trick.. gopi krishna said... is to eat any ways.. forceyourself... until the fire is controlled...

When I was studying in a naturopathic hospital in India, I yogin arived one day.. he said he was practicing kundalini yoga, and he was burning on the inside.. he was in shock.. could'nt eat and was pretty insane... died a few days lattter... (don't want to scare you.. hehe... I actually think that you should try out for your own.. ask questions, search for spirituality - if something inside you tells you to - and, as Tolkien says in the Hobbit "Hope that Luck was born beside you") I think you should be more carefull with the inner heat, than with the actual breath suspention...

    best wishes
