  1. What does the Dao say about fighting?

Hence the Bodhisattva Who Regards the World's Sounds' 11th face. When kindness and soft compassion do not work, you reveal a face of demons to scare the demons, put them back in their place so as to teach them never to do negative things again. Its called Hard Kindness, and works like a charm

  3. This is a good place, but it is still the beginning :-) Now when you meditate, find "Who" is focusing, and go with that. When you are ready, you will be able to "enter" a stillness without discrimination, and then the states that arise and fall will also fade away. My pleasure. Anything else, please let me know. Peace and Blessings, Lin
  4. Use the mind to investigate the mind. One can do this with anything. It turns the mind back to the mind, senses back to themselves, and brings it all to their source, which is the same thing. The senses, 6, al have the same source. It is through the organs of the senses that this substance, this same source is "sees, hears, tastes, smells, touches and thinks."
  5. :-) Atma Vichara? Does it mean the Spirit Vehicle? Please elaborate ... :-)

  7. Jesus was a Tao Bum

Also, there were a few other Buddhas on this planet before Shakyamuni Buddha. i don't doubt my resource, but others may. I did at one point doubt my resource, and then I didn't afterwards. And besides, it really doesn't matter who came first, what matters is who realizes enlightenment, and gets off the cycle of rebirth. :-) A lot of "properly known facts" are only set to be that way because of the passing of time, and lots of people with degrees. I rather find out through cultivation, and those who have realized enlightenment, who also cultivate both Buddhist and Daoist methods.
  8. Not anymore. Was for a long time. Had a few digestion issues when I had my school for 3 yrs. All better now, but my wife and family aren't vegan, and its quite difficult for them to accommodate me with that kind of lifestyle; that and most of the people I meet with in terms of cooperations, etc, aren't vegan either, so its not fitting for me to practice that daily, but on specific occasions :-)
  9. Jesus was a Tao Bum

Buddha was before Lao Zi. 1000yrs before 67 A.D., the Buddha's, manifestation, teachings and his entering Nirvana were predicted to come to China. Check the The Scripture in 42 Sections with Commentary by Master Xuan Hua. Then research historical records.
  10. Greetings Everyone! I will be back in NY this August, and will be hosting a BBQ in my home in Staten Island around the 2nd week of Aug. If anyone is interested in coming by, feel free to contact me through email, or even facebook. Email: [email protected] FB: Gui Zhen Hui Its a kind of eat what you like, bring what you eat affair, and a general hang out which is open to whatever you wish to discuss, if anything at all, or just to hang out and make some new friends. Since I don't do seminars and the like, I figure this kind of setting would be more relaxed and suitable for us to get to understand each other, and or just make new friends. Bring things you may like to be BBQ'ed and or bring foods you like to eat, drinks you like to drink and share. Vegan or not. I'm sure we will eat everything.. hahaha Hope to Meet/See you there.
  11. Thank you for your interest. I'm humbled that you find the shows beneficial. Some shows I make up the topics, and some are based on suggestions of people who would like to hear a different perspective.

  14. Detachment

Don't get to ahead of yourself. Your indifference and state of disgust is just another state letting you know you didn't get it yet. You may have become awakened to what you have constructed as a reality, but true awakening doesn't leave you feeling as you do, with the views you have. Keep practicing, let go of these views...it gets better. Peace and Blessings, Lin

  16. Wirathu: The Face Of Buddhist Terrorism

People in media really like to go superficial on anything and everything.
  17. you forgot to add the last part, "and not part of the human species called "Morono-Sapiens" hahahaha
  18. When John Chang says....

Yes. Enlightenment does not mean you must first become a monk. For example, Hui Neng realized Enlightenment before he left the home life. There are stories of enlightened families as well. Some things do need to be put down...but not till much later stages...lol But nothing is written in stone, meaning it is not fixed, but the principle is. lol
  19. Seriously, delete the spam posters, and their posts. Perhaps have a new way of becoming a member of the forum, like first writing an intro to the moderators so at least you know they are intelligent, and not part of the human species called "Morono-Sapiens" This poster: "Aaronabasp" has posted about 72 spam posts. I would personally write to this person, but it would be useless...deleting it altogether would be a better option.
  20. When John Chang says....

You can appear as a living dead person. Outside is no sign of life, but inside there is a full on working mechanism going on.
  21. When John Chang says....

Chan (Zen) is very much awake. YET, when in deep concentration, it is as though there is no discrimination on the sky above and the earth below. Some say it is like a state in between awake and sleep, but in truth, it is a total "one-ness" with what is thought to be all that is. If there is a "communion" with spirits, then it isn't the state of non-production" which is realized in Chan. It is thus the cause of one's samadhi "concentration power" which allows them to pass through various states and realms. States can feel like an in between wake and sleep. Thus many can become mistaken when describing what they experienced in Chan meditation.
  22. Glad you find it useful. :-)
  23. How to develop unconditional love?

So many interesting replies. Perhaps : When seeing living beings, do not see that for what they act like, what they think they are and what you think they are. See them by looking through those facades they live by. See them without their obstructions, views. You would be looking at them as though you are seeing their true face. We can also say, look at a person as though you are seeing their "higher-self", loving self.
  24. When John Chang says....

    Yes, yes and Yes. :-)
  25. When John Chang says....

All of these quotes sound just like Chan practice, and Daoist meditation practices as how I learned it. But for some reason, the quotes don't come up when I quote them.. lol
