  3. I wonder if there is something like qi and qigong in Kabbalah?

Any energy work in Kabbalah at all?

I also heard they don't allow women into the system.

A short anwer about the qi and qi gong is yes. Qi may be equated in some ways to ruach.

The anwer to qi gong may be the Middle pillar Ritual or the more advanced rite of tree pillars, that comes from the western esoteric tradition.(ie Golden dawn)

If you are interested check out Israel Regaridies writing on the subjects.

The books, Art of true healing and the middle pillar by regardie are great imo.

  5. Great topic!

There seems to be an immense value of being able to let go of ones irrational fears, to be able to go out of ones "comfort zone".

Could fear also be described as a lack of trust? A lack of trust in oneself and of the tao/universe & beyond.

And how do one push oneself beyond the comfort zone?

  6. I was taking a nice walk in the cold October air and did something in the end of the walk that I sometimes have done to a greater extent. What am I talking about? Well, letting the body follow the natural flow and not deciding consciously where to move or go. I get almost the same feeling as when I have done some spontaneous qi gong practice.

This type of walk has gotten me to see some interesting places were i normally wouldn't have gone.

Now I was wondering if this is something that any one else has done or do. do you have some interesting experiences, or opinions?

    Be well //john

  7. This is a dangerous song, and with it comes an ancient warning. if you listen to it you will want to hear it again and again. You have been warned.

Actual survival account: " I listened to this song over and over again, i couldn't get enough"

here is the dangerous song, beware:

  8. The objectivity expressed in spiritual traditions is always expressed subjectively by beings who have transcended themselves, so they are free from subjective projections which arise from an inner sense of lack. This sense of lack is the cause of craving, which conditions perception within the scope of ideals. So, we then start projecting our ideals onto the universe around us and stop seeing with clarity and open objectivity. Even though objective vision is possible, it's still expressed through the subject that has self transcended.

To explain this is a box of nitty gritty. Namely the entire cannon of Buddhism is one example of how vast the nitty gritty can be in both philosophy and methodology of how to directly experience and transcend this seeming paradox of subject/object duality, while remaining a subject in the universe.

The trancendence of the paradox of subject/object can be a scary ride if you are not ready for it

I had a ayahuasca experience were i "found out" and it was no fun prospect at the time. This was a couple of years ago and I still think i have to integrate this experience into my life. What this experience told me at the time was: we are truly one and we are our own mirrors in the world we experience.

It was a quite "shattering" experience" at the time but it somehow confirmed for me that experience is harsh but it has so much capacity for love.

    Peace/john

  9. Language fails us

I think this is the main point, how do you express something that is transcendent?

an the word EXPRESS is a key, how doesn't language dictate our reality?

Language and myth does dictate our reality...

WE need new myths - big bang isn't that sexy as a myth?

    Love/ john

  10. I was running earlier today and I was thinking about the duality.

the thing that struck me was that every thought that I have about some objective reality

only exist subjectively in my own mind.

There is something weird happening when one start to contemplate these matters.

What are the implications if there is no Objective reality to speak of, there is only the subjective story of what is going on?

This is also something that Quantum mechanics seems to point to - the observer is a part of the the outcome!

This is also something that Hermeticism seems to point to - the all is mind

    Buddhism?

    Taoism?

And the biggest Q, have you experienced "total subjectivity"?

    Peace /J

  11. It's friday and after a couple of beers the urge to post increases, and how fun it may seem, it would be fun not to make oneself too much of an ass.

So instead of posting semi-intelligible babble in the ordinary forum

I started this thread so those people like me, who get the urge to post under the influence has a place to do so.

  12. Well now I am not a american, but what goes on over at the other side of the pond does effect

    the rest of the world.

Preparedness for wtshtf, mostly a mental preparedness, ie getting skills and knowledge.

learnig about different natural foods such as mushrooms and whatnots. Not just to be prepared, because it is also fun . :)

On another not I have had this nagging feeling that something big is going to happen in the near future 2009/2010, something that will rock the world. Maybe its just me experiencing what is called "the return of saturn" but what the heck, felt like shearing.

    Peace/ john

  13. This is a pretty interesting topic.

I think that electric smog is going to be a bigger public concern in the future.

Lived in a building close to electric lines, trains and lots of wi-fi connections.

can't really tell how that affected me, but now i have moved away from the city

and live in a smaller rural community, which probably reduced the EMF smog a bit.

Please give a review of the purple Tesla-plates if you decide to invest in them.

  14. Seek an ye shall receive.

maybe there is a part of yourself that has those qualities and is reflecting upon the world thus you get drawn to these "masters" ?

I don't really know. I do believe that even though you master energy manipulation that sure isn't a guarantee for personal development.

The whole calling oneself a master seem a bit hokey to me.

  15. 1. Ask her out

I wish someone would have given me that advise :(

There is a technique used in NLP where you imagine a timeline and then visualize yourself travelling backward to an earlier point in your life. You make a change, then follow the timeline forward to the present and even into the future to see what the results of the change are. If you like the changes, you keep them. If you find you've made things worse, you can go back again and un-do them. I'm fairly sure I got this from Anthony Robbins, but I don't recall which of his books it was in.

My earlier self had to learn everything the hard way and wouldn't take advice from anyone - even a future me. All I could do is send energy.

I like that, NLP seems to have very useful techniques when it comes to self development.

  16. We are all on our journeys and have traveled so far on our own paths. A thought occurred to me today while i was taking a shower, what if i could go back in time and give advise to my self on spiritual matters what would i say.

Now i do not consider my self that far on the path, but there is some advise that would have been beneficial for me from my current point of view.

Here is my top 3 to my former self just getting interested in spiritual matters.

    1. Be patient

    2. Relax

    3. Do not try to convert people to your practice as soon you get a result. (when I noticed how good I could feel from daily meditation I became a wee bit of a A-hole about it)

    Whats your advice to yourself?

  17. Who needs evil wicca or taoism when you can participate in a cannibalistic, vapirical cermony eating and drinking the flesh and blood of our solar deity Jesus... and all your sins wash away... or something like that.
