The Importance of Body Hair - Why is it important to have hair and not shave?
Ish replied to 4bsolute's topic in General Discussion
Remember reading about some tribe people who were drafted into armed service - they were able to sense enemies in the dark from very far away, however, once they cut their beards and hair off, they lost this ability. Maybe someone can confirm if this is a true story or not -
How to lower body temperature with meditation?
Ish replied to KenBrace's topic in General Discussion
Well, if Tummo brings all your energy and awareness into your central channel - how about trying the opposite and gently bring your awareness and feeling onto your limbs and hands/feet. Not something to take seriously, just a suggestion for you to play with.- 36 replies

Yeah reminded me, this New Year, as we were outside and it turned to 2013, there was a beautiful "Moonbow" out. Auspicious for the year? Who knows . -

Does anyone know if Jim McMillan is still alive?
Ish replied to Sleeper's topic in General Discussion
What's the source on Kosta Danaos having prostate cancer anyway? Did one of his students say this or is it just made up? Shame to hear about Jim Mcmillian and his decline of health, at least, from his students' post, he passed peacefully. Blessings to him and his family & friends. -

Chinese Taoist Medicine & Stillness-Movement Medical Qigong
Ish replied to Ya Mu's topic in Group Studies
Sweet! I think pythagoreanfullotus does have a point though, if you could even get a couple of video testimonials it makes for a nice way to get this stuff out to a bigger audience. Bigger chance for people to come across it on youtube and the like. -
Yeah this is absolutely ridiculous, what's their real motive behind this? Just because it does not fit into mainstream paradigm it should be censored? This is actually quite scary.

Resting the mind in its natural state
Ish replied to Seeker of Wisdom's topic in Buddhist Discussion
You cant drive a car JUST by steering the wheel, so don't bother at all!! -
Appreciate the informative reply! I will check out the book you mentioned. Unfortunately as you mentioned it's hard to switch to & weight loss thing would perhaps be expected but still, something to keep in mind if future states allow it... I was watching a documentary on a community which basically gets most of their food from walrus, fish and whale. So its a high fat hunter gatherer style living. Their blood work was impeccable and the only guy who was less healthy than the others had a habit of eating processed sausages at home . Worth a watch for the diet aspect and their lifestyle.

Hi Deci belle We often hear about twin cultivation of nature and life, how cultivating only one or the other leads to incomplete attainment. Any comments from your perspective? Ty!

Burning tongue tip touching roof during energy work
Ish replied to SecretGrotto's topic in General Discussion
Yeah the teeth can lightly touch, for me it strengthens the connection between ren and du, as does the tongue position. But personally i just use the tongue position without teeth touching as it's more relaxed on the jaw this way. You don't want to be tensing the jaw as it can block your energy in the head/neck. I'm pretty sure for Ling Bao the tongue would be in this position more near the front, but you can check with some of the people who have learnt from Master Wang Liping, from the top of my head Taomeow has. The tongue doesn't need to touch the teeth, i have been advised to just start close to the teeth and slowly move back and feel where the connection is strongest - either way it still works even if it's not 100% in the right place. For me its about half a centimeter behind the teeth. -
Burning tongue tip touching roof during energy work
Ish replied to SecretGrotto's topic in General Discussion
What instructions are you following? The standard tongue placement would be just behind the front upper teeth, no need to put any strain reaching back to the soft palate. It should be done gently also, better energy flow. -
