  7. "Spirit" - what is it?

You're welcome. "Chon-bu-kyung" is regarded as the oldest scriptures of ancient Korea. The mordern China territory reaches to the far north - east area but ancient Chinese wanted to divide theselves with the people lived in Northern section of ancient Chaina. This thrinity system affected China inland(ancient China below the great wall) as well later... but China culture seem to be more under the the binary system than thrinity.. The three-legged bird also changed to two-legged bird in China... One interesting stroy, Korea culture is still more affected under this thrinity sytem much more than binary... so I had got the question from the company colleague in Hongkong why Korea companies prefered to issue commercial invoice 3, 6, 9 moths and he couldn't understand its reason. : )
  8. "Spirit" - what is it?

This trinity system is different with counting system of Zhouyi (ๆ˜“็ถ“), the binary system. The oldest records of this thrinity system is "Chon-Bu-Kyung" inscribed on the rock founded in Myo-Hyang mountain. this trinity system and culture was originated from the cultural belt who lived far north east asia people(northern territory upper the great wall) who had totemism of bear, three leg birdsไธ‰่ถณ็ƒ , three Godsไธ‰็ฅž, heaven, earth, man. and.... "Spirit" ....can't say simply in words.... : )

  14. so many theme of ideas and thoughts are coming in and out.....they are not just staying in my mind..... they shakes my whole body and rules my whole being even my soul.... But it can not be always beautiful, virtous, ethical, or altruistic.....or we do not need to be, perhaps. However, carefully look at them and ask to myself...what does moves my heart and mind now? That is telling who you are at the moment.... Love, how are you doing love? that's showing what your life is like now.....

  16. Tody this poem is moving my heart : ) "Walking about in this pine wood, I find an accommodating rock on which to nap. ...In the mountains, there aren't any calendars; and though I know summer's heat has past, I haven't a clue to the year." Lunar calendar says fall is here. Where did summer go? (from friend's note)
  17. The Cool Picture Thread

We call it 'SortDae' wooden birds on the pole...very old Korean traidtional belife...it symbolizes connecting people, earthly world and the heavenly world. I wish I could fly like a bird...how wonderful it would be~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  18. [TTC Study] Chapter 58 of the Tao Teh Ching

It's famous phrase and can often hear in Korea, also I've been told so many times from my parents. Recently I was told very interesting words from my colleague at work who studies I ching for very long time. .....(not for sure if I understand and translate his words in correct but any way...) He said "I can see your clearness or determined attitude reading your birth chart, can compare to "white Gold ๏คŠ" ......white Gold is beautiful Gold and metal...metal can be a knife...knife is very useful tool but also can be dangerous as well...so sometimes should be sharp but also should be blunt in case.... Now my understanding is that it is not just talking the companies or relation with people around you, it connotes and explains the way of how you understand, percept the world around you, people, things, cases....all the things passing by you and happening around you. and following question, Then each of us can change ourselves and find the status of ไธญ (mean, medium) by controlling our nature and inclination from borne all the time and is it that important virtue? Or is it really means a lot to each or to the whole looking it wide? Well, now I believe that it's impossible and no neccessary in looking it as the whole. Each of us is like a very small particle has own identity consisting of the whole picture of the world and universe running under the rule of Yin-medium-yang and so many variations between them. "Yourself is a small universe" and hello marblehead : ) I'm happy to see u here again, maybe I can't visit this forums as often as before but kept reading ur posting and others....
  19. The Taiji Symbol (Yin~Yang)

Once again I'd like to say that ; We normally say what is Yang and Yin but it is not the right concept understanding Yang, Yin. It is one theory explains how to understand the priniple of world, emphasizing "harmonizing the all components" We often indicates the dominant Qi in the object and at a certain moment. What are you going to call "Yang" or "Yin" seeing the green tree with full of energy in summer? Yang? But it is full of "water" inside. How about the tree in fall or winter? "Yin"? But it cut the circulation of water inside and easy to burn. talking "Yin" Yang", both have "alterability" and "relativity" There is Yin with Yang and Yang with Yin, existing not in separate or the polarties in conflict. I put more weight on "Flexibility" of "Yang and Yin" means in a certain case, the thing with Yang can be Yin, Yin can be Yang, also homonizing between Yang and Yang, Yin and Yin, we can see many cases of those in nature. I mean we need to broaden the current concept of "Yang" "Yin"
  20. Thanks for inviting, Sean...I am happily reading the forum you are posting. it's coming winter here. pls take care.

  21. "Do you think there is much difference between the two approaches? How about in terms of creating a healing space? The idea of aligning one's own will with the "heavenly will" May I do not much know about Qigong, practicing as much as you do. But I would like to say some my idea. "NO Two" (As I know this is greatest buddhism spiritual awakening) If you are practicing by the way of "self-generating the qualities" and it's successful, then you are already the one emanate it to the environmental space around You. So "self-generating the qualities" is becoming the mutual emanation at the same time. We often can see the people who living in extreme poor enviroment in the trashes...but they also smile, laugh and love as the same with the people living in good places. It means no matter how much positive energy is in the place where you are, if you don't accept it , it will be useless. Also no matter how much you practice all the qualities, if you are not emanating them to outside, it will be useless as well. Emanating should be kind of "Practicing" them in real life to the people around you. Because the enlightened teachers empasize; Knowledge, knowing can not be the "Wisdom" if there is no conducting what you know in real life. (Knowledge can be the one dead, but the widsom is the one alive) Therefore, "mutual resonance" done by practicing them for people means making "Self" alive. we should have the eyes and open heart and attitude can look around and care and most of all should not be trapped into you by yourself. That was why the great monk, (Korea, 617~686) turned away his heading to the people from his way of travle for solitary practicing and study after awakening. We are all lifetime practioners. Practioner should not be isolated. That's all what I understand "You and I" till now, and my opinion for your idea.
  22. Hello, where are you from?
