  1. FOOD COMBINATIONS are an essential part of avoiding (or increasing) ama, the toxic mucus that forms in the body. Ayurveda has a lot to say about this.

can you recommend a book or place to start learning about this?

I found this, it seems related? although more geared towards Chinese medicine not Ayurveda

    http://www.amazon.com/Healing-Whole-Foods-...n/dp/1556434308

quickly found this book on Ayurvedic Cooking, has a chapter on food combining

    http://www.amazon.com/Ayurvedic-Cooking-Se...6391&sr=8-1

  2. I told you... I have seen the effect it has on people :P

I see I see. well maybe the same effect could've been had on those people by just taking some Psyllium husk and fasting? Idk. just being cynical and making up an excuse not to spend 200$

  3. I have not done it yet because it is expencive and difficult to import to Norway.

I have also seen, and done, a lot of other colon cleanses. And none can compare to the Arise and Shine cleansing program.

I don't understand how you can say its the best but you've never done it :P

can someone please look over these ingredients to see if its any good?

  4. Triphala btw is not a purgative, rather a laxative so you can use it daily. Stronger purgatives are not for regular use, they may damage the bowel if overused. Still they are very good to use every now and then, they can loosen some pretty hard rocks from within :)

    yoyo King..

according to this book triphala is a purgutive.. but I think considered 'light' so its not too forceful

have u tried Triphala? was it good?

i'm thinking of just doing a Triphala + Psyllium combo

    whats a good strong purgutive?

  5. what about

    Colonblow

    or

    Clay

    :)

    hm thanks!

I think most people recommended Psyllium Husk powder.. idk about the clay though.. i'll look into that more.

since i've heard great things about both Triphala and psyllium husks.. i looked around and found this. it seems legit http://www.planetaryherbals.com/products/GP1553/

The best cleanse out there is Arise and Shine, http://www.ariseandshine.com. But its hard...

    and super expensive!

what was your experience with it?

  6. My advice is this--dont buy into the cleanses that show pictures of grotesque dark stuff (not poop) that have come out of people while using their brand of cleanse. Or rather, if you do a cleanse and get such a result, realize it is likely not 'toxic buildup' or 'mucoid plaque', but rather an ingredient in the 'cleanse'. Some sites sell pills, or drinks that you take, and they have all kinds of pictures of the crazy stuff that comes out of peoples butts.

I have sat in on colon scopes, and believe me, there isnt plaque build up or anything of the such. Doctors give patients some stuff called 'go lightly' and they shit like its going out of style, then the next day their colon is squeeky clean.

Now then, I do think a colon cleanse every now and again is good for you, as is not eating one day of the week. Just dont be led astray by the marketing. I think enemas are probably ok, if a bit unnecessary. Increase your dietary intake of fruits and vegetables, melons especially, and consider doing a liquids only diet for 1-3 days and your body will cleanse itself.

But, do what you will, just please be safe.

I have taken herbal cleansing product before and I think they may very well help your body clean itself out, and you feel better for it.

    hm.. thanks.

yeah I think these are over marketed. i read more and decided just to try some Triphala, which is an ayurvedic herb made up of 3 flowers that regulates digestion. It seems that a lot of the western colon cleanses are just strong laxatives. I don't know how good that is for you.

  7. Dwai

No...Non-duality means No sound, no scenery, no hearer, no seer. There is no distinction between Subject and object. There is only Subject.

Alaya Vijnana is posited as infinite, eternal mindstreams that are interconnected like "Indra's Net" and is the store-house of all experience in the universe. That is simply (imho) back-pedaling to retrofit the concept into the Absolute Self experience. So the "Interconnectedness" or "Oneness" experience is not because of infinite mindstreams. There is only One Infinite, eternal Consciousness...which is the Absolute Self.

You see, you are saying the same thing I am saying. Except you are starting from B to get to A and I am starting from A to get to B.

    :)

this is why you fail to understand Buddhist non-dual realization. Buddhism does not collapse everything onto the Subject because the Subject is seen to be empty. Buddhism does not say that there is no subject/object split because everything is subject. that is an extreme. Buddhism says that subject and object are interdependent and connected, but that doesn't mean that they are of one eternal essence.

you never answered my question Dwai, if I'm hungry can you go eat for me?

  8. hey guys, thinking of trying a colon cleanse. I haven't had the best of diets and regularly get gas/bloating. during meditation I can feel cramps so this might be good for me.

I got Yogani's book on Diet Shatkarmas and Amaroli. he says that Basti (enema) is really great to cleanse the colon. especially for those who are doing kundalini work. I also spoke to Robert Bruce about this, and he says colon cleansing is great to release blockages and let energy more loosely flow around the base center (root chakra).

I found this, my mom does it, its a system that uses herbal formulas to cleanse the colon, and also has tonify the other organs. have you guys heard of it? what do you think?

    http://www.dualactioncleansenow.com/e-ingredients.aspx

looking for any opinions/experiences on cleansing.

    :)

  9. Creation, and others here. you will find this interesting

From Universe to Multiverse. Are You Ready? (Dr. Michio Kaku)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-rg3uNrI8tE

Parallel universes, black holes, and big bangs are mentioned.. in response to a question about how the idea of Multiverses rewrites theology and God, the theoretical physicist mentions Buddhism which is interesting. very good talk.

  10. This statement is truth. The Loss of Jing concept is a Taoist trap. A control mechanism and is designed to use your own intent to manifest. The most important thing to remember is intention. Are you going to hoard and solidify the illusion of separation or wake up and realise I AM. You cannot loose until you intend to. Will you allow your intention to be controlled by belief? We must ask ourselves what this hoarding mentality of 'store as loss will make me weak' creates.

Now it can work for you of course. But what is working is magnified intent through discipline (regardless of any truth). The truth is, give and you will receive 100 fold in return.

"For Where Your Treasure Is, There Your Heart Will Be Also"

    Matthew 6:19-24

so if I cut your leg off, your intent will grow it back? or more simply, can you, with your intent, take a shit without eating food first?

I think intent is important, but you can't ignore biological mechanisms.

Santi says bullshit, but he also doesn't release more than twice a month. he's also young. he's also fit.

Ramakrishna probably ate like a spoonful of rice a day, and maybe an apple for dessert. he didn't have the diet to replenish as fast. maybe in his experience that was true. we can't deny that. for you it might be different. I don't think its easy as saying the loss of jing concept is a trap. It's very real.

  11. With that I leave you to continue your bashing or 'questioning' if that's how you like to describe it. The irony here is that those who appeal to be heard never listen. It is also ironical to question others belief or conditioning when all that one sees exhibited here are more beliefs and conditioning. How is one side in a better position to question, teach, preach or inspire the other? I don't see any difference between Dwai's ignorance and Lucky7strike's enlightenment. Do you actually believe that the word passion justifies how the Buddhists have conducted themselves here? But I may be wrong and outdated in what I expect from Buddhists.

    LOL

    WHO ARE YOU?

you have 7 posts on this board, and all of them have been about your disagreements with how people are acting. how about you contribute instead of criticize?

  12.

So, listen! Listen with an open mind! Then question! Give your whole being into the investigation for the Truth! Isn't that why anyone here has put effort into these ancient ways?

    Obvious-Master.jpg

hehe jk. this isn't obvious at all for many people, especially older people who are very much set in their ways.. like being stuck in quick sand. it's so easy and comfortable to just stay stuck and not question anymore.

    nice post ! :)

  13. Yessiree. They have airtight closed minds and add nothing to any discussion.

    that's a joke right? you're being sarcastic right? :lol::lol:

when have you ever added anything beneficial to any discussion? man you crack me up.

IMO it is best not to respond to these disrespectful Buddhists (if they can be called so) who have nothing constructive to say except jump into every thread and tell others they are deluded. If there is thread on the nutrition value of Chicken soup, they will still have a Buddhist quote to prove the others wrong. When the agenda is clear, why waste time talking to them? Ignore them and the trolls will eventually go away when no one is feeding them. A lot of those who are irritated with these discussions are also irritated with those who feed the trolls. Try to ignore them and after rounds of mutual conversation amongst themselves (four of them?), sanity may return.

    - Blessings and Best Wishes to All,

    Sandra

    LOL who ARE you??

Virtue police over here with 6 posts.

You are so full of shit it is really sad. You think you know everything but you know nothing.

You are blinded by your stupidity and tunnel-visioned view of reality.

You have no truths. They are all childish imaginations. Nothing more than what a young girl does outside playing with her make-believe fairies.

I have read every one of your post from the day I joined the forum and you have not made one concrete statement . All you do is quote or paraphrase the fantasies that you have been reading and expect everyone to believe them to be true.

You, sir, have an ego that is totally beyond control.

    Be Well!

dude.... putting "Be Well" at the end of your post doesn't stop you from looking like a jackass. just a heads up. lol

really Vajra hasn't said anything fantastical or childish at all. he's been very concrete citing Buddhist scripture and his own experiences. just because you're 80 years old and haven't had any meditative experience doesn't mean that other realms and deep experiences don't exist for others Marble. maybe you would have some experiences if you actually meditated instead of trying to have tea with strangers over the internet.

its really amazing how defensive people get when their beliefs are questioned, when their identity is questioned. look at you people. ganging together and hounding someone for saying something as grotesque as "Buddhist realization isn't the same as Taoist realization", if you can prove him wrong.. do it. if you can't have a philosophical debate, then don't participate. if you act dramatic thats only furthering your attachment and suffering, so chill people. if you're comfortable with your path then what others are saying shouldn't matter to you. if you act dramatic that only shows your insecurity.

  14. i have dampness! high five.

i think its because i've eaten too much bad unhealthy foods (taco bell?) at night. i developed lipomas and thats a definite indicator of dampness. i've been using the middle way formula here http://www.agelessherbs.com/ which is directed towards stomach/spleen qi dampness and deficiency..I saw a TCM Doc and he confirmed my diagnosis and said the herbs are good. but where did you get your diagnosis from? i suggest seeing a licensed acupuncturist/herbalist who has a Masters.

the herbs work. my dampness is clearing though it takes a long time since i've had this for years. i've been on the formula for almost 2 months.. and the big lipoma I had on my leg is shrunk twice in size. my digestion is also a little better.. and i feel better inside. but like I said, herbs work slow. I think acupuncture will also help, though its not necessary to overdo it. i'm seeing an acupuncturist next week.. he's awesome. I saw him 2 weeks ago for a free consult and for free he worked on me for an hour, he sent a lot of energy into my heart (he's a Qi Gong master) and I felt bliss for days.. and told me that lower dan tien breathing will really help clear up the dampness.

  15. did it come out of your mouth as a burp? :P was probably gas.

might've been prana, or chi, moving around. i feel chi much more when im falling asleep or just wake up. for obvious reasons. kundalini is intense. its when the subtle essence of chi is awakened, there is usually a strong event that leads to a non-physical experience. theres also sexual energy sublimation and deepening of awareness. it'll happen naturally if you keep meditating, its not the end all be all, just a step on the way as attachment to the physical body lessens.

  16. I ordered the agar 35 yesterday, so it will come in a few days I'm guessing. I do have some issues with anxiety, which most likely will be resolved soon anyway, but oh well...it will be fun to try this out and see any effects.

please tell me you asked for capsules and not pellets??? the pellets have to be chewed before swallowing and taste like tree bark. i've done it before, you get used to it.. but I suggest capsules if you have sensitive taste buds :)

  17. After I reach a really high steady level of physical health, could possibly be even 20 years from now, I will devote more and more time to letting go and self awareness. We all know what happens when you let go of everything.

I hope you don't die before then. :P we never know when we will die, life is so impermanent and unpredictable.. having such a long term plan is iffy.

what do you mean by "we all know what happens when you let go of everything" ? what do you think happens?

  18. interesting, i'm learning. thanks Stig

what would you say is the ultimate goal for Taoists? is there a realization or insight of Tao? and what happens to that individual when that realization occurs? and what happens after?

  19. Vajra,

You've turned things around 180 degrees. Anyone but you seems to see it pretty clearly.

You say you're being a mirror to us, while in truth it's the other way around.

You talk about other people reifying things, while in truth you're the biggest reifier of them all.

    Seriously, it's incredibly obvious.

if you have nothing beneficial to offer to the discussion please don't participate.
