  1. Then can you manipulate your entire reality just by thoughts?

What we "can do" while centered in 3 dimensions is much different from what our souls do with no limitations... we are divisions of Infinity. To answer your question directly, I believe all of us manipulate reality at all times with our thoughts. But if you're asking me to show you my superpowers... I left them in my other pants.

Jesus was a highly psychically-advanced individual who created a religion to spread graspable concepts of the truth, which is infinitely beautiful. The concepts of Heaven and Hell truly do exist, as does every other concept - including the absence of concept. Good and evil are concepts emphasized by religion to represent deeper ideas, or that was Jesus' intention. Evil is ignorance of growth.

You're no longer afraid to die, but let me ask you this, would you die for a stranger?

    I'm a stranger myself.

  2. Mention more of the book in a way that could find me and others a chance to understand it better and perhaps you'll even create interest.

    Read This:

    http://www.fromthestars.com/_printed%20pages/page178p.html

I like to think about that page as the story of the man named 'All That Is.'

As for creating interest for you, I'd truly love that! But I don't feel comfortable reviewing his ideas and possibly misconstruing them because I didn't elaborate enough... so instead I'll just mention some aspects of the book that really took hold of me:

'Reality is what you make it'- The human mind literally creates the 3-dimensional objective reality that we all live in and agree upon as fact. It works like a machine in that it intakes units of electromagnetic energy from thoughts and intentions and outputs everything in this world, including our own self-images. Also, upon entering into each of our reincarnational instances, we choose who our families will be based upon either what we need to learn or possibly according to relationships we've had with these personalities in previous existences...

I could mention more, but there's SO MUCH material. If you go to the facebook page in my 1st post, each picture of the chapters has a sentence that tells you a little about what it covers.

Thanks for posting this, SeththeWhite. I found it very helpful, and I will get ahold of this book.

I have started reading the book and it seems very interesting.

Thanks for your responses, and please let me know your thoughts if either of you finish the book.

It takes a bit of courage to be who you are when the beliefs you have are somewhat rare. Congratulations!

Thank you. Your words are always appreciated, as are the rest of the respondents'.

You should print this and give it t your friends etc before they ride with you driving a car.

    I'm a bicyclist.

  3. A few months back, I posted a book in the book club section hoping that some of you may have read it and could bounce ideas with me. The name of this book is Seth Speaks: The Eternal Validity of the Soul.

The reason I'm bringing it up again is that I've been having thoughts that the philosophy of existence found in this book is more valuable to me than Taoism. ^That was a hard sentence to type.

I am relatively familiar with Eastern philosophies, and I accepted Taoism as my own when I was 18. I feel as though Taoism provides an awesome understanding of the Way of 'the world', but it didn't quench a certain mystic thirst that was latent within me... it didn't and couldn't touch on the idea of an existence that follows this one. This is my first time admitting that Taoism wasn't sufficient for the knowledge I sought.

My purpose for this post is attempting to relieve myself from some of the estrangement I feel due to the ideas presented in this book. I have never been a man of beliefs, but I can't deny my trust in the material. Much like the Tao Te Ching, as I read, I felt like my thoughts were being put into word-form and arranged beautifully into sentences and paragraphs. There is a section about 66.7% into the book where Seth discusses the concept of God, and it evoked enough emotion to make me cry in Starbucks... tears of happiness though.

It is now ingrained in my consciousness that the Answer to the Question is simply the beauty of creation.

I would like to recommend this read to anyone and request that you notify me if you do.

This book has changed my life.

I no longer have any questions about death.

I have never been attracted to beliefs because I've always recognized the dualistic nature

inherent in out 3-dimensional reality... ideas have always seemed like a better route to take.

For the first time in my 23 years of life, I believe in an explanation.

Please let me know what you think if you read it.

    Thanks!

    -Seth

  5. Hey Non.

I'm not going to tell you that you're wrong, because you're not.

I wont even tell you to stop venting to us... that's what we're here for.

What I will tell you is that not all women are terrible... same for the rest of society.

You won't find contentment if you observe a characteristic in someone or some people

and write off the rest of a demographic due to bitter feelings.

I'd advise you to stop searching.

When you realize there's nothing you can do, then everything will be done for you.

    Good luck my friend.

  6. when you throw a stone in the water, is there any way to stop the ripples? If you stuck your hand in the water to obstruct a ripple, look what you did! More ripples!

Those ripples are just going to have to calm down on their own, and the bed of the lake will be forever changed. Sadly there is no going back.

So forgive yourself, do better, and move on.

    Well-put, thank you!

  7. I really like that way of saying it seththewhite, thank u!

    BLESSINGS!!!

I like the parts of the post that you highlighted, too. In fact, i like them a lot, they're quite beautiful and poignant. The thing is (there's always a 'thing') is that they stand very nicely on their own, independent of the discussion on karma.

    Thank you both very much.

I genuinely appreciate your consideration :)

To define is to limit - Tao is without limit - therefore it is impossible to define.

Is this true of ourselves? Not very often but it is possible for all of us.

That is such a fundamental thought. I feel blessed to participate in it.

    "How am I not myself?"

And I also enjoyed the water-pot story Marblehead!

  8. I think this will be my last year.

Reality is what you make it.

If protection is what you seek, then you have options.

It seems that you are succumbing to a Karmic reckoning of sorts...

if this is the case, then I must show my respect for your confrontation of fear

and bidd you good fortune on universal levels.

    Be safe.

  9. i do not hold a definition of 'myself', each moment is a re-creation of my relationship with the process.. i do accept the inclination of others to recall their experiences relative to my deeds and hold that recollection as 'defining'..

    I am a Taoist.

Tao is beyond definition and without limitation.

I have therefore defined myself without defining what "I" am and without placing limits on myself.

**Edit: I've often thought about this- as a Taoist, would I consider myself a Taoist?**

if i were to put some effort into creating a system of psychological limit on human development, i don't think i could do better than kharma. It causes anxiety in many people who try so hard to remain in that 'center'.

These are very good points, and I'll be the first to admit my own contradictions...

for Dualism has gone so far as to become an affectionate concept in my life.

My reason for saying what I said about definitions of the self

is the stress I've seen those definitions cause in my own life and the lives of others around me.

In a concrete world, it is very easy for people to become imprisoned by stagnant thought

and quite difficult for people to find the freedom of fluidity.

I speak out of my love for water.

    Please forgive my words.

    I only aim to aid.

  10. Karma may be nothing other than a guide to help people better their lives.

Whether or not Karma exists is not the focus.

There is a common cornerstone in 21 different world religions.

It is known as the 'Ethics of Reciprocity,' and also 'the Golden Rule'-

"Treat others as you wish to be treated yourself."

In math, you start with 0, and you're neutral.

If you add+ to 0, you'll find yourself in the positive.

If you subtract- from 0, you are then in the negative.

So to return to 0, the neutral state, simply do the opposite action.

The common idea is whatever energy is put in, will return.

That is how I live my life under Karma's hand.

But you must realize that Karma transcends actions and depends on energetic intention.

Rather than wonder what action will counteract punching an old lady in the face,

simply see it as negative energy and counteract with positive energy.

After that point, all you have left to do is to trust that Nature is just.

Life is a rollercoaster, when living in action.

It will go up, and go down, and go up, and go down, and it may even flip a few times.

If that is your reality, then I'd say, "you only get one ticket, so enjoy the ride."

Some of us tire from such action.

If this is your reality, then your aim is to transcend Karma and stay in the center.

If you take nothing else from what I've said, please pay attention to this:

You are the canvas. Experience is the paint. Action is the brushstroke.

Do not regret you're work of Art.

    Good luck my friend :)

  11. Beyond the tao is nothing, not even nothing.

So if you say nothing is beyond the tao, wrong - Beyond the tao "is not even nothing".

And the set, not-tao, the Mysterium, can be created by the mind, but it is beyond all thought, and completely inconceivable. It contains neither wu or yo, so what's to think about?!?

I've recently had this same conversation with a 'Scientific' friend of mine.

When he posed his version of the thought 'not even nothing,' I was stumped.

I had no answer for him, and thus, he was not able to accept the Tao into his objective reality.

Which, in turn, left him feeling victorious and me feeling defeated.

So, through my defeat, the Tao proved to me that it cannot be proven...

I graciously accepted the loss and realized the gain.

Since then, I've come upon a very interesting Nobel-Prize winning experiment

claiming that there is no such thing as empty space or non-existence... only a state of perpetual fluctuation.

This conclusion developed through their study of the "empty space" in protons.

It's mentioned and graphically-represented toward the middle of this Lawrence Krauss lecture:

From the point of view of Tao there are no dualities - there is only thus-ness. It is the way our brains work that gives the impression of dualities.

    WOW. You said it friend.

When involved in a conversation of distinctions,

I constantly feel like yelling, "YOU'RE GETTING AWAY FROM THE IMPORTANT MATTER AT HAND...

    POTENTIAL!!"

    Thanks Marble :)

  12. For such a MASSIVE forum involving so many profound thoughts and thinkers,

rooted in an understanding of the Tao...

there seems to be a recurring slip-up.

I understand that it is in human nature to attempt to place boundaries on concepts

so that we can grasp and define them for use in an objective world...

But when you go into detail about what the Tao 'is' or 'is not' in aims of giving it those same graspable qualities,

you must realize that whatever characteristic you decide upon will be both true and false at the same time.

The Tao is All-encompassing. It loosely translates to 'the Way.'

I take that to mean the Way of Everything and Nothing.

    The Way of Life.

Don't focus on thinking it into objectivity.

Just feel it and give it the complete benefit of your doubt.

Then figure out how to rid yourself of doubt.

Please excuse me for interrupting your topic!!

    Good morning my friends :)

  13. I hadn't heard about this, but it doesn't surprise at all.

I have a very strong idea that everything grows according to the golden spiral...

    even humans.

Search google images for "golden rectangle" & "golden spiral," and you'll see what I mean...

if you didn't already know :)
