  1. In my translation (Alistair Shearer's) of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, in the samyama chapter one of the practices is focusing on the navel in order to gain knowledge of the body. In other words, to open you up.

Not arguing with you, I think you're right. :P

Thank you for bringing that up! Yes Hindus do focus on the various Chakra, but do you feel the navel is as emphasized as it is in Taoism?

One unique aspect of traditions such as More Pie, is how its entire practice almost revolves around that particular center (LDT).

  2. How about the method of not focusing on the lower LDT? I hear that is the best method for filling the LDT

That one too I guess. Many traditions do not focus on the navel or LDT at all. The Hindus for example, albeit some traditions focus on the different chakra, do not seem to emphasize accumulation in the navel as do Taoist traditions. Some may perhaps say that filling of a chakra or dantien is a natural result of the opening of the nervous system and is not to be forced or overemphasized like some traditions.

  3. Greetings forum. I thought it would be interesting to examine some methods which I have seen spoken of regarding the "filling" of the LDT. Here are a few :

    1. Meditation on simply focusing on the LDT.

    2. Microcosmic Orbit incorporated into guiding chi to LDT.

    3. Directly breathing chi into LDT without orbiting.

    4. Similar to 1, but mantra is vibrated in LDT.

    5. Accumulation/compression of chi in LDT without breathing it out.

I would be interested to hear those who have tried these variations, or other methods of course, and what similarities or differences they experienced.

    Namaste

  4. The deceitful character of the world comes out in the following ways. In the first place, it pretends that it will always remain with you, while, as a matter of fact, it is slipping away from you, moment by moment, and bidding you farewell, like a shadow which seems stationary, but is actually always moving. Again, the world presents itself under the guise of a radiant but immoral sorceress, pretends to be in love with you, fondles you, and then goes off to your enemies, leaving you to die of chagrin and despair. Jesus (upon whom be peace!) saw the world revealed in the form of an ugly old hag. He asked her how many husbands she had possessed; she replied that they were countless. He asked whether they had died or been divorced; she said that she had slain them all. "I marvel", he said, "at the fools who see, what you have done to others, and still desire you." 5. Hi,

Douglas wrote to me last night to inform me that "The enrollment is to low to facilitate a class at this time." :(

He did say, though, that he is interested in putting one on in the future in Red Deer, Alberta.

    :)

    TI

Thank you for the heads up TI! Hopefully there will be another opportunity in the near future. Thanks again for letting us know about the event.

    Peace

  6. Ah, I guess the seminar is tomorrow! I really want to go, and I probably could since it is not far away. It was kind of short notice unfortunately. I had no clue until this thread was posted. It is a bit pricey, I must say, considering I do not know who the person doing the seminar is, and my background knowledge of Kunlun is quite limited. I wonder if that makes a difference?

I feel that I would also be missing an opportunity to meet a Kunlun teacher. How often do they hold seminars in Alberta? Ahhh............

    Info from the website says:

    Didsbury, AB, Canada

    Kunlun with Douglas

    Day: 21th

    Time: 9-1pm and 2-6pm

  7. Hi Orochi :)

Didsbury is about 35 minutes north of Calgary.

Why not Calgary? I didn't organize this so I don't have any idea... Maybe the hall rental is cheaper in a small town?

    TI

Thanks Tibetan Ice. I am in Cow town, so it seems pretty close. Have you ever gone to these Kunlun seminars? I have read people's experiences with it. Still not sure what makes Kunlun what it is. That is, what is unique about the practice as opposed to other forms of meditation.

I would like to go just for the experience, ...I'll have to see.

  8. I think you touched on something valuable in mentioning religion.

To me meditation is towards mastery of ones self. Religion is about surrendering to what is greater than ones self.

I have found in my experience that these areas of "broken programming" have only become surmountable by turning myself over to the mercy of a higher power. Self mastery is necessary to find those areas of "broken programming", because as you accurately observe, facing limitations is hard enough on it's own.

Personally, I have used meditation to ground me through the process of coming face to face with some very dark corners of myself, and deal with the challenges inherent in owning up to them.

However, not until I turned myself over to something greater than me did I feel able to transcend, did I see myself begin to overcome. We can find our boundaries alone, but we need more than ourselves to expand beyond them.

    Just my two cents.

    Great post.

  9. Well, I've heard it rumored that real MoPai can cause heart problems too. Which makes me wonder why exactly, if true? Is this due to errors by the practitioners...or is there an error or inherent risk in the system itself?

Those are legitimate questions. One aspect I have wondered about Mo Pai, is the practice of accumulating chi or prana in the LDT. Now I understand this is common amongst many Taoist practices, however there are also Hermetic traditions which dissuade the accumulation of Chi in any specific area, since it is believed to cause imbalance. There also may be a big difference between concentration on the LDT, as opposed to a herculean effort to press and accumulate energy in that Chakra. Further then to rip that Chakra out of its normal vibration, by supposedly cutting the "cords" which hold it in place, sounds very extreme in any case.

  10. I've corresponded with the individual who wrote that article. It is interesting, and I am not sure where he learned taoist practice. But he said that after writing that book, he got a heart attack from the ( MoPai) practices which he theorizes of in that article, which forced him to change his outlook on it. It certainly is risky when you have no master present to gauge your energy.

    On another matter:

An interesting point that Kosta writes in his "Warrior Sages", is that according to him, MoPai meditation does not involve any kind of mantra use or visualization. I can perhaps understand the exclusion of mantras, but even simple pranayama requires a degree of visualization and concentration.

  11.

Frankly I can tell you Cyril likes his privacy on people scanning his "energy".

    Does he have energy? Yes.

Interesting. What do you mean he has energy? You are being vague. Can you tell if he does more than tricks? That is not a privacy issue, as I said it is something he flaunts.

It is said there are different degrees to seeing the aura. Simply seeing light, as opposed to seeing the individual colors is one. Another is deeper clairvoyance in which one is said to be able to see specific details about the individual. This cannot simply be learned from a book, but is a matter of spiritual maturity no? What degree do you see the aura?

    Thanks

I looked at those videos you posted. His energy is very sweet and genuine. I wouldn't mind meeting him.

I have people ask me all the time to scan people. Correct, it is a deep invasion of privacy whether a person is famous or not. One does not loose their personal rights based on status or celebrity. That's an ethics violation. If I treated someone differently because of status in a hospital I could get fired. Sure, people do it all the time, but I am not comfortable with it at all.

Invasion of privacy is considered an affront to human dignity. That is what makes it wrong in my eyes.

    Greetings ShaktiMama.

I agree, he is a very charismatic and "magnetic" individual. Aside from his "outside" personality, how do you perceive his sweet and genuine energy? Do you see him as spiritually advanced or is he a very good actor?

  12. Mr Santi, you did not answer my question.

Without "invasion of privacy", can you tell if he is using Siddhi? Your analogy is quite inaccurate and irrelevant, because he flaunts his abilities (whether siddhi or not), for all to see. Do you understand this?

    Thank you.

  13. I am not : )

But read Path notes chapter on how to read auras and do it yourself : )

You are asking me to say in public something personal about someone.

Its like "hey santi can you peep into a hot ladies window and then post on the forum how her tits & her box look?"

You get me? I already told you he has a nice aura. He has some chakras naturally nice. I am not however going to invade privacy.

When you can see doesn't me you see all the time or when you want or with out the other person's permission.

Now a cool person like "Cyril" is a magician so i respect his "privacy& Mystery" he is emitting in his aura. If you read Path Notes & Shadow Strategies you will learn from Glenn how some Ninja manifest things in their aura & intent which can be seen in the aura. Cyril is doing something like this.

He is a very SMART ninja : )

    Peace

    S

Thank you for your response Santi.

I have not read Pathnotes, but I would certainly like to. Is it still available to buy? I wonder how different his method is from other teachings regarding seeing the aura.

No, I did not mean for you to invade his privacy, but simply what you could tell from what his aura in terms of his spiritual maturity. He is a showman, and it is his intent to portray an image or aura as part of his act. But what I wonder is whether you can tell if he is a master of some siddhis, through his aura alone. It is also part of his "act" to seem like he is using such power, so to discern whether he is mixing in something occult with sleight of hand, is not invasion of privacy, but analysis of his message and intent. :)

You say that he is intentionally creating an image within his aura. Is he using siddhi?

  14.

That Magician is very coool . I like his aura, and yes very "ninja"

    Bump for Mr Santi.

What is it you like about his aura if I may ask? What are some of the things you can see from the aura? :)
