  3. Waysun Lao

Dude, Gary admits having studied with Sifu Liao himself!
  4. The Secret

I heard yesterday that they've just released an extended version of 'The Secret' that has more footage.
  5. I've been reading his books since I was 21 (1980), took most of those books and tapes with me to the Philippines while stationed at Clark Air Base (1982), and saw him in San Francisco the year before he died (in 1985). He was, hands down, the single greatest influence in my life. In a way he validated what I already felt about religion and life in general, so I took to his teachings like a duck to water. One of the reasons I consider Krishnamurti a Taoist is his repudiation of all organized religion as well as his belief that we should question everything, at least concerning the big issues in life: religion, love, relationship, violence, belief. And perhaps most important of all, to learn from one's own experience. After leaving the Air Force in 1984 I found some talks he gave on video with Dr. Allan W. Anderson. These were in a series of 24 1-hour conversations, and are absolutely fantastic. I paid quite a few bucks for 5 or 6 of those talks, which I still have to this day. However I recently found a site that has them for download in mp3 format (for free), as well as part of the same conversations on video (also for free). Right now they only have 5 dialogues for download but add new dialogues every two weeks. I'll be happy when they offer the complete series of 24. http://www.jkrishnamurti.org/index.php?pag...mp;nid=740226.1
  6. Which he sells for about 297 smackeroos, though if you want so save a few bucks buy it on eBay. Anyone try this, it sounds pretty good? http://www.chineseculturesecrets.com/
  7. The Secret

You got me Thaddeus! (hangs head in shame)
  8. The Secret

This seems to be taken directly from the DVD. Damn, I knew I should have waited a little longer before ordering.
  9. The Secret

BTW, check out 'What the Bleep Do We Know?' Another great film!
  10. The Secret

I've got the DVD and it's one of the best films of this type that I've seen.
  11. J. Krishnamurti - the ultimate Taoist?

    No problemo mi amigo!
  12. Waysun Lao

Is Wayson's 'Bone Breathing' the same as Clyman's 'Condensing Breathing'? Clyman actually studied under Wayson for many years and may have incorporated some of his teachers ideas into his 'Tidal Wave' chikung system. BTW I used to have Frantzis' book 'Opening the Energy Gates' and it is an excellent book. He DOES warn against practicing certain, what he calls 'packing techniques', however the technique he warns against uses breath-holding techniques which are quite strenuous. Clyman's 'Condensing Breathing' and Wayson's 'Bone Breathing', assuming they're one in the same, don't use strenuous breath-holding, but normal breathing, and so probably would not be dangerous to practice IMHO. However there's always exceptions to the rule. It would be interesting to see if Kumar's student who got bad reactions from practicing Wayson's techniques used breath-holding or normal breathing.
  13. white skeleton meditation

Hey Yoda, do you use a skeleton model to practice with? I just ordered the 'Tiny Tim' skeleton from the anatomical.com site and look forward to practicing.
  14. Matt Furey - Chuang Shang de Gong Fu

Thanks Mike, I like a guy who doesn't bleat around the bush! Agreed Thaddeus, Furey IS a master marketer, but I've gotten good results with his materials, especially last year when I seriously pulled a muscle in my back.
  15. Matt Furey - Chuang Shang de Gong Fu

Thanks guys, just curious though what Plato said about Chuang Shang de Gong Fu? I like Furey's stuff even if it's a little overpriced (IMO).
  16. Yang Jwing's Marrow Washing Book

I thumbed trough this book many years ago and it's intimidating in that it's a VERY involved and complicated practice. If memory serves, this is a fairly large book with TONS of exercises. So much so that it put me off right away. However, I think Jwing recommends learning this practice from a teacher and using the book for reference.
  17. New Kurz Demo Vid

Just curious, how does is new vid compare to the old one (Stretching Scientifically)?
  18. Question For Plato Re: His Blog Comments

Hmm, sounds interesting, where's Master Plato's blog?
  19. Buteyko Method Breathing

Hi gang, I found an interesting article on Frolov that also mentions Buyteko. http://www.intellectbreathing.com/history....65f8af4c4dd47c2
  20. New Kurz Demo Vid

Amazing! This guy would put most 20-year-olds to shame in terms of stregnth and flexibility. Definitely gives 47 year old guys like myself a shot in the arm.
  21. Peepee Snarfing

That's what I like about this forum, at least those who might be put off by this practice are willing to listen, unlike the bunch of jerks on the myspace forum (below) that literally attacks anyone who speaks in favor of it. My brother and I got into verbal jousting matches with the ignoramuses there. One guy who calls himself Timbo (the 'leader') is an outright a** or at least thats what I told him when I confronted him (see Chuck). Never liked a bully! http://forum.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseact...943563989755405
  22. Bow Before Me...

    I'm declaring jihad on all of you!!! Islam - 83% Buddhism - 67% Paganism - 63% Judaism - 33% Hinduism - 33% atheism - 33% Christianity - 25% Satanism - 25% agnosticism - 17%
  23. About 4 years ago Sifu Richard Mooney posted clips of empty force demonstrations that looked very impressive. In one of these he literally stops a man in his tracks who charges him with a knife - without touching him! As a result he was roundly criticized by a lot of people as being a charlatan when he was unable to duplicate his success under 'clinical' conditions, and consequently pulled the clips off his site after a barrage of criticism. Personally I think the guy is for real and really DOES have this ability and that, like Uri Geller who failed dismally when put to the test by The Amazing Randi on Dick Cavett (or was it Johnny Carson?) many years ago, doesn't necessarily prove that a person has no ability. BTW another person who seems to have this ability is Kozo Nishino (sweet Jesus they're charging 68 to 150 dollars for his book on Amazon!) Mooney gives a nice little talk on Empty Force, aka Lin Kong Jing here which I find very interesting... http://www.fightingarts.com/content01/use_of_qi_1.shtml
  24. Free Tai Chi Stuff !

Thanks Cloud Recluse these look great! I just downloaded several of them and will peruse them later this week when I get more time.
