I like the amazing Randi but only when he turns his attention to REAL phonies, like Peter Popov. However, I've always felt his view of the world was a bit too rational/cerebral, with no acknowldgement of the spiritual. It's ok to be skeptical, maybe even necessary - up to a point, but the amazing Randi carries it to the extreme IMO by saying that the paranormal doesn't exist AT ALL. Oh well, what can you expect of an uber skeptic?
  2. He Shou Wu/fo Ti Question

Hey Yoda, did you hear the interview with Plato Resinke on Playboy Radio? He talks a LOT about He Shou Wu.
  3. The 5 Tibetan Rites

Interesting, since I first started these several days ago I've noticed a DEFINITE increase in energy. BTW here's a terrific site (the best I've seen) that explains the 5 Rites in detail, and then some. It's actually a pdf file. www.thrap.net/fiverites.pdf

Good point Lerner, it's definitely a good idea not to scrape too hard, especially near the base of the tongue where the taste buds are larger.

Something else that makes a big difference as far as the breath goes is using a tongue scraper. I've been using one for the last 10 years and always scrape after brushing my teeth.

One other thing that can be of great benefit to gum health is the use of cayenne pepper. In his excellent book 'Curing With Cayenne' Sam Biser interviews master herbalist Dr. Richard Schulze about his dental problems in which Schulze stated that he managed to bring his 9mm pockets down to 2's and 3's using a dental irrigator in which he put drops of cayenne tincture. I don't use an irrigator so I did the next best thing, I use cayenne powder to brush my teeth with (along with the soap). The cayenne DEFINITELY brings blood into the gums, which in turn stregnthens them. In fact I consider the cayenne as important as using the soap. Recently I found this site that sells a tincture with a combination of cayenne and other great herbs that are supposed to arrest gum problems. This stuff is so great that it has a patent pending. Anyway here it is... http://www.peri-gum.com/
  7. Gary Clyman

Yeah, the guy seems to have it in for Chia, he bashed him at least several times we spoke, saying that his techniques didn't work, and calling it s***.

There's a disinclination to use bar soap (or any soap for that matter) for most people because of the taste. Though Dr. Judd says ANY bar soap will do I'm a little reticent about using just ANY brand since most deoderant soaps probably have chemicals in them. I chose Ivory because it seems to be the mildest and the least chemically laden. I remember the first time I used soap on my teeth, I just stood in front of the mirror trying to rev myself up. Finally, after a minute, I just went for it. The first few moments were the worst, but after that the taste didn't seem to bother me much. However it was how my teeth felt afterwards that made me decide to use soap for the rest of my life. My teeth felt so clean that for the rest of the day I couldn't stop myself from running my tongue over them, they felt that clean. With each time I brushed it became easier and easier. By the third or fourth time I hardly hesitated, and today, as I said earlier, I don't even think about it.

Hi Lozen, I was comparing Tooth Soap to a plain ole bar of Ivory. $19.95 is a LOT more than $1.25, so by comparison it IS expensive, though in and of itself it isn't.
  10. Gary Clyman

It's funny, I've spoken to Gary at least a half dozen times and he's exactly as he appears in his adds, very hyper. He bad-mouths other chikung guys too.

About 4 years ago I heard a guy on the radio, a retired bio-chemist, talk about how to keep your teeth and gums healthy, right into old age, by making some changes in what you use to brush your teeth with and adding a few supplements to the diet. Instead of using toothpaste, he recommends...hold on to your seats...using regular old BAR soap. Alright I know it sounds disgusting so before you call this guy nuts I actually tried his experiment. Actually I'm STILL using soap to brush my teeth with, and have been for the last 4 years. I'll NEVER go back to using toothpaste again. The difference between how my teeth and gums feel with using toothpaste and using soap is a HUGE difference. Not only that but for a guy who has a VERY serious periodontal problem I think I've found a way to arrest the condition, and the proof is in my dental x-rays. Since I switched to using soap my 9mm pockets have been reduced to 5mm. When I first tried it I was hesitant, and the taste got to me a bit, but after the third or fouth time it was EASY, and now I don't even give it a second thought. Now the reason this fellow recommends using soap is that toothpaste, in spite of their claims, does NOT clean your teeth, and worse yet does not permit re-enamalization to take place, which is crucial for healthy teeth. Soap DOES permit this to take place, and once you've tried it and see how clean your teeth feel, you'll never go back to toothpaste. Also you probably won't need to buy those expensive 'Tooth Soaps'. BTW I use a plain old white bar of Ivory soap which lasts just about forever, but Dr. Judd says ANY kind of bar soap will do. I had the pleasure of speaking with Dr. Judd on several occassions and he's a very nice fellow. He's very patient and answers any questions (and I had many) that you may have. Anyway if anyone's interested here's his site... http://gerardjudd.com/goodteeth.htm PS: the next time your mom tells you to wash your mouth out with soap, don't argue with her!!!
  12. Hi Sunshine, I agree! I don't know if there IS a best ANYTHING, but from what I've read Spring Forest is supposed to be very good at what it proposes to do.
  13. Anbyody knowing this...?

About 4 years ago I was on some martial arts site reading through some of the posts when I spotted one that caught my attention. It was from a guy who had seen Gary at a martial arts convention which was attended by many notables of the trade. Gary, who's always trying to test his martial mettle walks up to no less than Grandmaster Pan Qing-Fu, the most renowned iron fist practitioner in the world, the iron fist himself, and asks him to punch him in the stomach - FULL FORCE. Master Pan of course politely declined saying that if he did so Gary would suffer serious internal damage. The guy went on the say that Gary pestered Master Pan for awhile before finally giving up. Now THAT'S brash. Also, not long ago, I was in contact with a guy who told me that when he questioned Gary about his course, and it's pricey pricetag, Gary got angry and called the guy a loser. How's that for rudeness?
  14. Thanks Yoda, Alan Ritz is one of the few who DON'T advocate using the pc muscle when having sex, along with Dr. Lin and Steve Biel. In fact Ritz' VIP muscle technique bears a striking similarity to Dr. Lin's tailbone breathing method, except Ritz insists on taking specific supplements before learning his technique.
  15. I have the book, and can summarize it in a few sentences. The premise of the book is built around the importance of using what Ritz calls the VIP muscle, aka 'the tailbone', but before one can have any succes in using this 'muscle' you need to be taking certain nutrients which are supposed to facilitate learning this technique, without them the process supposedly becomes far more difficult, if possible at all. The first is Choline, which you can get from lecithin (I personally take the granules), the second is serotonin, which can be found in a supplement called 5-HTP and can eliminate the deficiency in "a few days" according to Ritz. The third recommendation is simply drinking enough water (between 2 and 3 quarts) which he claims will increase the quantity of blood throughout the body, and hence the penis, which in turn will give a man the much sought after 'steel erection'. He surmises that since the blood is made essentially from water, increasing one's water intake essentially increases the amount of blood in the body, which in turn has enormous (pun intended) implications on the penis. In addition to the above he recommends taking whey supplements which provide high-quality amino acids, especially tryptophan. Gotta run now, I've got chicken, lamb, and steak on the grill...
  16. Hi gang, I found this link to a site that uses techniques taken directly from Wong Kiew Kit's book 'The Art of Chi Kung' which proposes to open or increase intellectual functions. Now if you'll excuse me I'm working on a rocket... http://www.wilywalnut.com/brainkungfu.html
  17. Greetings all, I've had the book for some time now and will work it into a routine of some kind, but it looks and sounds an awful lot like zhan zhuang. Interesting, Nishino also seems to have developed quite a formidable empty force ability judging from the pictures. Peace, Chuck
  18. Greetings!

My name is Chuck, aka the Wanderer, and this looks like a nice place to sit down and have some great discussions. Look forward to jawin' with you guys!
