  2. Brainwave entrainment for Kunlun

Did you allow yourself to ramp down to beta? Perhaps you ramped too quick.
  3. Brainwave entrainment for Kunlun

If you can give me some info on this, I would appreciate it. I am currently working on a program to help get you through the 100 days!
  4. Brainwave entrainment for Kunlun

I'm glad the track is now downloadable. Have fun!
  5. Brainwave entrainment for Kunlun

Try again. I have paid the fee for more downloads. Guess you don't get much for free.
  6. Brainwave entrainment for Kunlun

The short answer, it uses isocronic tones to produce a pulse at such said frequency. It is not the pitch of the sound, rather the modulation of the pulses which entrain the mind. For the long answer, do a search on brainwave entrainment and isocronic tones.
  7. Brainwave entrainment for Kunlun

Because of the difficulty of sending such a large file, I have uploaded it to YouSendIt. It is available to download here: Kunlun Brainwave Mp3 If you are prone to seizures or are pregnant, it is not advisable to do brainwave entrainment. I am not responsible for anything that happens from the use of this track. It is 1:10 long, so be prepared. Instructions for Kunlun mp3 The track uses isocronic tones, so head phones are an option, though I recommend them. If you don't use head phones, make sure that the volume is as loud as you feel comfortable. It is advisable to be 5 feet or less to the speakers. If you have a mind machine or light goggles that are Audio Strobe compatible, use them, but they are not necessary. Set up as you usually would for Kunlun. Put on head phones/ light goggles and start track. Close your eyes and listen to the tones pulsing. The first part is your warm up visualization. You have 10 minutes to visualize and relax as the tones bring you down to theta. You will then hear an unmistakable horn alert telling you that your brainwaves are now at 7.83hz- the same frequency as the Earth. Assume the Kunlun posture and relax. Listen to the tones, or the background sounds. Just let the sound get into your head. Relax, listen, let it happen. You will be in the theta state for 15 minutes. By this time you should be feeling the Kunlun energy. The frequency will ramp up, and up, and up for the next 30 minutes. Relax and let things happen. After you have completed the gamma stage (46.98) , you will ramp down. When you have slowed down sufficiently, put your heels down and start your closing down sequence. Relax and listen to the blissful feelings inside of you. Enjoy the ride! Joe
  8. Is KunLun Bogus?

Thanks for the video Smile. Guess I have to start my 100 days over again!
  9. Is this a Kunlun Forum ?

Kunlun is very popular. I have even jumped on the wagon and purchased Pillars of Bliss. But it is only a small part of Taoism. My only gripe is that when you post something that is not about Kunlun, it gets buried amongst all the Kunlun chatter. In a day, your post will be on page 3 with minimal views and no replies. There has been so much information posted about Kunlun, it is hard to sift it out, even using the search feature. A sub thread would be nice.
  10. Is KunLun Bogus?

What defines "real, traditional, authentic" Taoism? Doesn't Taoism teach us that the universe is in constant flux? Is a 1,000 year old system, vaguely translated off a cave wall, or passed teacher to teacher in secrecy, better than a modern one? What if the old masters had access to EEG machines, video tapes, computers, heck, even vitamin pills? What kind of practice would they develop? Not that Kunlun is a modern practice. But it is presented to a modern audience. The modern world operates on money. And sensationalism. I doubt that we would even have a mention of Kunlun if it would not have been for those "fantastic" videos, real or not. We study the past. We learn from it. We take all the resources we have at the present. We refine what we have and make our own "Taoism". This whole thread, and many like it, proves how we over think and try to analyze everything. Taoism has taught me to trust the Tao. If it feels good, do it, just not to excess. If it ain't broke don't fix it. If it hurts, it is probably no good. Try everything once, if you like it, try it again. If you believe in something, it will come true. The source is from within.
  11. Hitting Devices, Methods (?)

I learned a technique at a recent chi kung seminar where you slap the bottom of your feet, concentrating on the ball of the foot point 100 times per foot, feeling the chi pulse up from the foot all the way up out the top of your head. I haven't been able to do it at home because my dog thinks I'm crazy and barks wildly whenever I try it!
  12. Meditation Clip

Thank You, it has brought a lot into perspective for me.
  13. Video of African Shaman Levitating

The drumming to a constant beat and the dancing around a fire (producing flashes of light) is proven to entrain the mind to specific brainwave patterns such as theta, where out of body experiences, lucid dreaming and all sorts of paranormal things happen.
  14. Video of African Shaman Levitating

I've seen Chris Angel do the same thing on T.V., and he's no shaman.
  15. Best Black Teas?

I am drinking a white tea called "Monks Blend" sold at a local shop. Wonderful vanilla notes with all the anti oxidants and none of the grassy flavors of green tea.
  16. different teachingsTaiji

Like Oolong, I am learning Master Moy's style. We have a "beginner" an "intermediate" and an "advanced" class. Each has different instructors. I am only in the "beginner" class right now, which is 3 months of 3 days a week practice, mostly dealing with the mechanics of the movements. We start out with a few chi kung movements to warm up, then review what we learned last session followed up by doing the form from the beginning. Then we add little more. I have not made it to any of the more advanced classes, but they do start with a separate chi kung class as well as Lok Hup.
  17. Punishment from Heaven

My understanding is that the Tao is not King like and doesn't dole out "punishment". The Tao sees good and bad, kind and evil as two side of the same coin. What is it that we are being punished for and who is the Judge doling out the punishment?
  18. different teachingsTaiji

In my experience, the only effect tai chi/ chi kung had on me while I was learning the movements was mild stretching and relaxation. After I had learned the movement well enough to practice everyday at my own pace is when I really started to feel the benefits. This is the value of chi kung. You can learn a movement and practice on your own, at your own pace that day! The tai chi instructor I have now discourages practice at home alone until proficient enough not to develop bad habits that may be difficult to break. My original tai chi instructor did not give you any breathing instruction, rather she told us to just breathe naturally, and the correct breathing will manifest. She was right. Years later when I "discovered" Taoism and chi kung, I had found that I was naturally breathing out when pushing out or down, and breathing in when pulling in or lifting up. I think that this is what Mal was talking about when he says tai chi will teach you if you are willing to listen. I find lessons learned on your own go much deeper than lessons taught by an instructor. Aren't the best instructors the ones that guide you to self realization?
  19. different teachingsTaiji

I practice Tai Chi and also Chi Kung. It is taught at the same place, but they have different instructors. Also they will have workshops with guest instructors.
  20. Taoist music playing

Thank You Mal. I am really looking forward to the challange.
  21. cool squat mobility article

ROFLMAO When camping, try the tree hugging squat. Don't forget the TP and a shovel!
  22. Taoist music playing

Yes, I got the Cain joke . I'm getting the flute, next I am going to shave my head I have never played a musical instrument before. I have always been drawn to the hypnotic sound of the oriental flute. I am hoping that it fits in well with my newfound meditation practice. I have also looked into the harmonica, but the flute had much more allure. Were you formally trained, or self taught? Any tips on how I should go about learning to play?
  23. Taoist music playing

Got mine here:Eric the flute maker This guy seems like he knows what he is doing.
  24. Killing me softly

    Yoga is big business !
  25. Ask Lin: What is proper meditation?

Thank You so much for this! I came upon this forum after I "discovered" Taoism a few months ago when I heard Wayne Dyer on PBS talking of the Tao Te Ching. After reading the posts, my reaction was just that of your screen name ??? ! Like you, but in a different way, I unknowingly started cultivating at an early age, in my own way. I got disillusioned along the way, not adhering to the traditions and not really knowing what I was doing was right. After following this forum, I went back to meditating on a regular basis. I have since read many books (and threads) on cultivation and have once again come back to ??? It is ironic that ??? should bring me back to clarity.
